This is also my question. Life is not easy kung di kayo magkaintindihan magasawa. two things lang yan, -listen & do something at -listen & ignore. kaya lagi listen kasi wala ka choice kasama mo sa iisang bubong may tenga ka to hear and normal body parts to move.tried them both pero still the same, both are different pero both love each other. But even you pray & speak talagang misunderstanding pa din, not often but still its right there, problem arises in relationship. Hindi talaga biro ang magasawa!

nagcounseling kami ng asawa ko before we got married and it helped a lot. mas naintindihan namin how things will drastically change pag married na kami but at the same time mas naramdaman namin that we really are for each other. and now that we're married, itutuloy pa rin namin kasi parang mas naging closer kami nung nagcounseling kami eh and mas naintindihan namin yung role ng isa't isa :)

before counseling, we decided na titira muna kami sa bahay ng parents ko kasi bro ko lang and cousin naman ang nandun and malaki naman siya for all of us since ang gusto namin bumili na agad ng house, eh naiisip namin sayang din kung magrerent pa so yun ang napagdecide-an namin and then when we were in counseling na, diniscourage kami na makitira sa mga relatives kasi mas maraming issues daw ang maiiwasan namin kung bubuklod kami. tama naman kasi nagaadjust na kayo sa isa't isa tapos kailangan niyo pa ring magadjust sa mga kasama niyo sa bahay tapos siyempre lahat ng focus andun sa bagong salta, mahirap kumilos, mahirap magkamali.. so yun magrerent nalang kami and hiwalay muna ng bahay while looking for a place to rent :) then hulugan nalang yung bahay na gusto naming bilhin :)

Mga sis i just want to share a movie with you...this might help your troubled marriage as much as it helped mine. Ni-recommend sya ng Marriage Councilor namin. After namin mapanood to nag-iba ang point of view namin sa marriage, mas naging considerate ang asawa ko and mas naging tahimik ang relasyon namin, unlike nung mga early years namin na halos araw araw kami nag aaway...

The title of the movie is Fireproof

watch the trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84q0SXW781c

watched this movie, naiyak ako. It's amazing how it portrays commitment sa marriage talaga. I'm not married, soon to be palang. But this movie is talking about relationship in general. Ganda talaga :)

We have this devotional book for couples na Biblical ang teachings talaga so each day we read one devotion then we answer the given question on that day. magandang bonding yan sa magasawa kasi not only we learn more from each other and you will begin to realize that only God can strengthen our marriage not by our own works.

Moments Together for Couples sis by Dennis and Barbara Rainey. I got this from Booksale kaya im not sure kung meron neto sa National or Powerbooks. For a starter medyo nagkakahiyaan pa kami ni hubby mag discussion kasi medyo personal mga tanong, bigyan kita ng examples:
How have you been at communicating your feelings to your mate lately? Are you bestowing grace?
Ask your wife what communicates love to her. Talk about the equation: romance=relationship. Agree/Disagree?
What part of being a parent do you find the most rewarding? Frustrating?
When was the last time you prayed together as a couple? What keeps you from doing it now?
Are you aware of keeping a part of your life hidden from your mate or from God?

That last question i gave sis share ko lang yung maiksing kwento: When we stumbled on that question, mas naging seryoso at tahimik si hubby. tapos sinabihan nya ako agad na i hope i wont be mad at him kasi nangyari na daw matagal. medyo kinakabahan ako naisip ko agad whattt?are you gonna confess that you had/having an affair???
Pero di naman major major pala yung nangyari, inamin lang nya na a couple of months ago, yung ex-gf tried to make a contact with him and she did coz she sent him an email, itś a long letter daw basta confessing na sana daw hindi pinakawalan ni ex-gf ang hubby ko. my husband swears na he didn´t reply, basta dinelete lang yung email. alam ko tatanungin nyo ko kung naniwala bako sa asawa ko na di sya nagreply? 10% no 90%yes i believe in him. bakit hindi 100% kasi natural na may pagdududa becoz he´s definitely not a saint not to be tempted upon so i just leave past behind that 10% doubt, and i guess that´s how the daily devotional works with us- it will change how we react through difficult times.

Yes, super ganda ng fireproof to remind you to keep your marriage strong kahit feeling mo ikaw na lang nageeffort. Nakakaiyak.

As for counselling, I thought my hubby won't agree to it ut he did come once. It should be a series kasi, but ok na for me that at least he's willing and iba tlaga pag may ibang nakaka advise sayo na objective and alam mong may iba kang mahihingahan ng problem nyo without taking sides.

momentum, I know a pastor in New day Las Pinas, he also counseled us. Just PM me if u want to contact him.

Hello everyone! I came across this thread and immediately nag sign up ako para makapag share..Actually, more of makapagtanong. My marriage is in limbo for the past year. I'm so positive that my husband is cheating on me and i've proofs...call log, facebook entries, pictures...naka save lahat. But HE STILL DENIES IT. Initially he just wanted some space daw. But now, he's telling me that it would be best if we go our separate ways.

I'm not trying to be a martyr here but i don't want us to separate. Gusto ko pa rin ma save ang marriage namin, specially since we have two kids. A 5 years old Boy diagnosed with Autism and my little 3 year old daughter. Hayssss... I'm totally lost.

He's open to seeking professional help. A marriage counsellor and I am looking for the best one. We tried Cefam pero one session lang. I'm thinking of going back to Cefam, pero I still want to find other options.

Hope you can suggest something. I will really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Wa-epek samin ang books lalo na kung may biblical perspective. Ako I studied in a Christian School for 9 years since childhood so naaappreciate ko pa compared sa Catholic school grown husband ko na naging Agnostic naman na ata kasi wala talagang paniniwala kesyo may divine being lang daw. Sinasama ko naman sa simbahan di naman ata inaaabsorb. Takot un basta makarinig na na may Bible Bible involved. Gusto ko rin magpacounselling kami kasi we skipped that before getting married.

Meron kayang seminar na ganyan na hindi biblical ang approach? Yung sa Ateneo religious yon panigurado di ko mahahatak yung asawa ko. yung tipong parang shrink/Psychiatrist lang ang dating

It help and it makes big difference for both parties. Sometimes it is hard to admit your fault and usually pride comes first especially for guys they don't want u to step on their ego. When both of u are mad u don't understand each others explanation and the outcome is misunderstanding, fight, disrespect, pride and sometimes lead to selfish-wrong decision making like separation. They say don't make decisions when u are mad especially if you still love each other and advice from a pastor or psychiatrist is very important because through this you will have time to think about your relationship, your partner side and learn to accept your fault. You will have a better understanding.
