I haven't tried DSi but I was deciding between the 2 just recently and I decided to get the DS Lite because I didn't care for the new features of the DSi. I just want to use the DS for gaming so the Lite is the better option for me because battery life is longer compared to the DSi.

But if you want the camera and the extra features then get the DSi.

laughter, actually each has their own advantages and disadvantages. IMHO, the camera/music features aren't that a big deal, just something Nintendo added in. The major feature is the ability to download from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Channel.

The DS(i) can make you download games, DS(i)Wares and add-on applications for existing games. The DS Lite has the SLOT-2 for Guitar Grip and GBA games compatibility.

The DS(i) loses backwards compatibility and add-on peripherals from the loss of SLOT-2. The DS Lite has a smaller screen.

These are just my observations. These are also the same reasons why I'm still keeping both consoles with me. Hehe!

The DS Lite cost somewhere around Php6000 and the DS(i) is around Php8000. Those are greenhills prices.

I mostly buy my DS(i)/Wii stuff from Data Blitz and/or online-based forums and I'm happy with it.

^^ Well, yes, actually those with casings that seem half-@$$ed. I mean, you gotta be pretty dunce to not notice a lack in effort to make the design. Like the one with Mario and a monkey and some other symbols I forgot. I'm going to greenhills tomorrow anyway, I'll see if I can look for them again. I'll get back to you on that one.

You're gonna get a $#!tty, half-@$$ed piece of equipment that can breakdown anytime. And here's the fun part, it usually does when you need it the most. Sad, but true. hi.. i went to greenhills yesterday and i saw their selling nintendo DS for 6K complete w/R4 already and its brandnew but the thing is they said its China version. well what's the difference between china, korea, us version? im curious coz their selling the console quit cheap

^^ Actually, the DS Lite are priced around Php6000 these days coz of the release of the new DS(i) model.

I got a couple of questions for you, hope you can answer...

1. What was the color/design of the DS Lite they were selling you?
2. What's the name of the store you're buying it from?

I suggest you research (through Wiki mostly) for all the official DS Lite designs, anything else might just be a fake design and, ultimately, a fake DS Lite. Mostly, the difference between the US and Asian models are the charger voltage. US is 110V and Asian is 220V. No region-locks whatsoever.

well actually i just saw their package in greenhills. i already have my DS though more pricey than what i saw in greenhills. im just confused coz their china version is cheaper that their korean version though its both from asia.  i think china version is refurbished units that's why

• A yellow DS Lite and a caricature drawing of Pikachu's head on the lower right corner of the cover casing.
• A "Love and Berry" design with lots of symbols of girly stuff.
• Mario and a monkey standing side-by-side on the left side of the cover.

Forgot the colors on the others, I was just passing-through when I saw them.

^^ No, it doesn't. The R4/EDGE/DSTT is just a piece of plastic laced with electronics that can read a microSD filled with games that have been acquired in a questionable and somewhat ilegal manner.

Long story short, it's a way for you to play your favorite games without actually paying for it.
