Nintendo DS/DS Lite/DSi [Thread 2]

Which one would be better, a DSi or a DS Lite? I've read reviews online but can't make up my mind. Hehe.

^i was torn myself until i read what's new with the DSi.  i found out you can't use old game cards (gameboy and dsl) on this console.  anybody can correct me if i'm wrong. 

and if that's the case, i'm happy with the dsl regardless of DSi's wider screen (it's still handheld so there's not much difference) and camera (mobile phone with cam and a digicam, why would i need another one?).

The major difference between the DS Lite and the DSi is the absence of the SLOT-2 in DSi for GBA cartridges and/or add-on devices (i.e. Rumble Pak, Guitar Grip).

You can still play DS/DS Lite games on the DSi but probably not the other way around since the DSi employs a camera and an SD-slot which might be utilized by most of Nintendo's top games.

For me, I'll still keep my DS Lite for my Guitar Hero games exclusively. Can't let that go to waste. I'll use my DSi for the other DS Lite/DSi games.

The only gamecard you cannot use pala is the game boy advance's because they removed the slot for it  hence the slimmer version console of DSi.  But still...i am not that excited of the release unless of course they come in many yummy colours.  black and white..nah!  too boring!

Actually, the US release will NOT show white colors, only Black and something in a blue hue, kinda like the Ice Blue of the DS Lite.

The DSi US release will be on April 5, 2009, priced at $169.99.

Kitchen Goddess, try E-YO. 3rd floor VMall. I'm surprised you went through 2 adapters. Makes me wonder what those 2 went through.

What I do is leave my standard AC adapter my home and bring with me a USB charger.

^ it's not frequently used naman since my daughter goes to school and seldom din pag weekend. me weird sound lang yun charger so i unplugged it. then when we tried using it again, wala ng power yun adapter. same with the first one, ganun din nangyari.

my husband bought me a new ds lite coral pink last night (only because i can no longer borrow my ice blue one which was sequestered by the little girl a few months back).

now, we'd like to play using wi-fi.  i have a dsl but does it have to have a wireless router? can somebody please help me and go through the step-by-step process?  thank you!

Yes, you should get yourself a WiFi Router. Maybe by Linksys or NetGear.

After that, just backread on this thread for how to setup your DS's WiFi settings.

so where's the DSi coming from?  Iba ibang release pa ba yun?  Which means depende sa distributor?

I hope nintendo will release them(DSi) in different colours soon.  Having the pink and blue, I'd love to get a yellow too!  Mukhang hanggang dreams na lang ang red dahil ang mahal ng shipping from UK. 

I was able to get an animal crossing skin from ebay US!  But i'm concerned with the dirt na nakasiksik sa sides ng console.  pano ba linisin yun?

I'm spending more and time na naman with this DS thing, tsk!  bad for my book club!

i brought my nine year old daughter to the optometrist yesterday.  had to buy new lens for her glasses.  tapos the doctor said medyo tumaas grado ng astigmatism nya.  playing the ds could be one of the reasons daw.  limit ko daw to 2 hours a day lang paglalaro lalo na this summer.  and bawal daw to play the ds while nakahiga.  susmio, parang ako yung dapat na sinabihan ng doctor nun.  guilty ako    kaya pala lalong lumalabo mata ko.  o reminder yan for you people ha lalo na those using corrective lenses

question: normal lang ba yun na ma-low batt agad ang ds? kasi i charged mine last saturday for 3 hours. i used it over the weekend, siguro for a total of 10 hours. hindi naman straight pero yeah, mga ganun nga harhar. tapos ayun, kahapon (monday), namatay na lang bigla. is that normal? thanks thanks.

A total playtime of 10 hours is not bad but it totally depends on how you're playing your games. Using the stylus drains the battery more than just using the directional and/or face buttons, but using the Wi-Fi drains a lot more than both stylus and buttons combined.

How many minutes/hours did you play before your DS turned off abruptly last Monday?

If you turn on your DS and the red light comes on, that's a big indication that your DS is gonna lose its charge soon.

I've noticed a difference in low batt warnings for every DS. It can range from 5 to 30 minutes for each DS/DS Lite.

I strongly suggest you drain your DS battery first before charging to prolong battery life. If you feel like it still has enough charge, drain it by using the Download Play option to activate the Wi-Fi.

^ i used the stylus a lot. kasi half the time, i was playing the mini games. i've never used the wi-fi. but thanks again. natakot lang ako kasi nabasa ko dapat 15 hours before siya mamatay.
