^exactly. that's what my mom told me. that i should tell the administrators that if that teacher has no patience in dealing with kids she has no right to be a preschool teacher. ill update you mga sis sa action na gagawin ko. I am now composing a letter and will have the yaya give it to the head teacher.

Hi mga sis! I am planning to enroll my daughter next SY sa big school but I am having difficulty in deciding kung san. I want sana non-sectarian school san kaya maganda near Makati? TIA

@marose,ceejhei...oo nga, i wasn't expecting abuse from teachers especially in pre-school level.  we have to be vigilant and always "inspect" our children when they come home from school.  my son's classmates although they are regular kids were threatened not to spill-out anything.  siguro not only physical abuse but we have to take note of changes in behaviour.  during the time of abuse, my son was difficult come sleeping time.  He would always throw a fit, and it was very unusal because he is a sweet and gentle child.  Maybe it was his way of telling us of the abuse.  =(

cocomarie & ceejhei:   grabe naman yung teachers na yan... its disturbing, kakagalit and saddening because we as parents entrust our children to them, they are also part care givers and nuturers of our kids and kung tayo nga na mga magulang di sinasaktan ang anak natin, what gives them the right to do that?!   

i hope you could PM me the names of the school please? Would like to avoid even considering the said schools for my son in the future.

I checked out Miriam CSC and I really loved the facilities and the curriculum.  My only problem is the classrooms are not aircon so it was pretty hot.

^ MI and Miriam were on my shortlist 3 years ago.  I was disappointed with my school visits.

MI - I scheduled a visit only to find out that on the day of my visit, there were no classes.  I specifically made it clear on the phone that I wanted to see an actual class and would bring my kids to see their reaction to the school. Sana man lang somebody bothered to call me to reschedule di ba especially since I left my contact details. The classrooms were small and the tuition fee was too steep. 

Miriam - true, maganda ang facilities but again, on my visit, I was met with an administrative staff who gave me a tour but only gave me the briefest idea as to what is the teaching method and philosophy of the school. I found it big for a preschool, not the homey type of place I was looking for.  If you are after facilities, this is the place siguro.  Maraming programs and extra-curricular activities, I heard.  Actually this is nearest our place but I was least impressed by CSC among the schools I visited.  Wala kasi akong nakausap na teacher and I did not get to see an actual class.

sis marose, may say po ba ang deped in case the school refused to grant a refund ng tuition fees in case of withdrawal from enrolment?

^ Not sure, sis.  Is the school Deped-accredited?

Usually, schools have a policy regarding refund.  May palugit iyan and if nakalagpas na sa cut-off time nila, they might give only a certain percentage of refund.  But I am not aware of a no-refund policy in case of withdrawal from enrollment unless siguro sobrang tagal na.  Unfair naman kasi yun sa parent na nagbayad na di ba.  But you should also understand the business side, kasi nga naman hindi na makakahanap ng kapalit ng slot na ni-reserve nila para sa anak mo ang school if you pull out/withdraw at a very late stage.  Pero try mo pa din mabawi ang binayad mo.

Spent an entire week school hunting and I was so impressed by Brick's Place.  The place is so new and the premises are impeccable.  Super ganda ng play area.  Teacher Penny was so helpful and really knows her stuff.  I really want to enroll kaya lang the downside is they dont have a grade school.  Gusto ko kasi tuloy tuloy na yung son ko sa grade school para he doesn't adjust again after 1 year.

Uminit lang ulo ko sa Raya and Kinderhaus, so at least bawas na ang choices ko. 

Ano ba yung negative feedback on Cradle of Joy?  Someone mentioned kasi na marami daw negative feedback pero wala naman akong mahanap when I backread.

Just had a 1 week free trial at OB Montessori for my 3 year old twins.

All I can say is, this school is very very good! My son had his Casa there and now he's in Grade 1 and he loves school.

With the preschool (or Casa), you can really see how independent ang mga kids. I love the facilities and security is also great. Madaming naka ikot na mga guards (major issue ko iyan).

The last time na nag party ang son ko sa school, when I parked the car and saw that I have all the party stuff in the car. The Ate's/kuya's helped me that Hindi na naka tulong pati helper ko bec they all helped out already.

I believe in Montessori method kasi. It's that or homeschool. OB Montessori is the pioneer and authentic Maria Montessori Method in the Philippines.

Hello Mommies, may i join your discussion please.

i browsed through the discussions and wasn't able to find any reviews about The Learning Tree & Pail and Shovel Integrated School. My son is 4 years old and I'm planning to enroll him in preschool this coming June. Would like to know please about your experiences about these schools. I'm interested to these schools due to the proximity and because they are progressive schools.

One of the most wonderful realizations I had when my child attended school is that children shouldn't be forced to read at an early age. It would be better to foster wonder and love of learning. Besides, children learning reading early does not prove anything. It merely means children can do it. It's better if the child builds vocabulary first.

My child at 6 ( almost 7) doesn't read yet but you can bet he has a very good vocabulary for his age. He doesn't say funny. He says hilarious. It's not weird, it's absurd. Lol. Also despite not knowing how to read yet, he has "read" ( meaning he's being read to, or reading indirectly ) lots of books already, and has a huge  book collection. He's very excited how to learn to read and I am very sure that when the day comes, i will have difficulty convincing him to do other stuff for a while.

Hi Jachanso, have you inquired in Child Matters? It's inside Horseshoe Village. They do not have Chinese in their regular curriculum and teaching method is progressive. (Chinese is offered as an extra class so payment is separate and classes are held after school for 30 minutes, 2x a week)

My daughter went there last year for preschool. For me, ok yung school. I especially like the fact that they stress the importance of reading because I am big on books as well. Aside from the daily read-alongs, they also have a "book club" of sorts wherein each student brings home a book every month and a parent (or both) are required to read and discuss the story with the child. They have a library inside the classroom so the students can sit down and read during free time. Facilities-wise, the playground isn't that big but the "rides" are adequate. The classrooms are big, especially since they only allow maximum of 10 students per class if I'm not mistaken. They also hold care-giver seminars for the yayas (2x for the school year) free of charge (or baka kasama na sa tuition ). 1 main teacher + 1 assistant teacher per class.

Another thing I really liked was the genuine love and care the principal has for the kids. She treats them like her own which to me, as a parent is a really big deal. Alam kong alagang alaga ang anak ko. The teachers and staff are like one big family. I'm planning on sending my bunso there as well next year when she turns 4.

mga sis, required ba nag-attend ng preschool ang mga kids ngayon before ma-accept sa gradeschool? or kelangan lang nila mapasa ang entrance test? paano pag di accredited ng dep-ed yung pre-school, tatanggapin ba sa ibang school pag dating ng elementary?

been reading through preschool threads here.. scouting for a school for my son, still trying to compile a list to choose from. been trying to check if some of the schools are accredited by dep-ed pero di ata updated sa website nila tsaka yung list na nakuha ko of private pre-schools in QC is dated may 2012 pa, wala yung ibang schools I read such as Young Minds Learning Center, Family Partner Child Learning House, Early Literacy Clinic, Creative Children Learning Center, Little Sandbox Daycare and Learning Center, Child Preschool, Child's Place Preschool, Books and Blocks Preschool, etc.

Feedback on Nest pls. My son is incoming grade 2 and my daughter naman will be 3 this April. I want to transfer my son ( he's in Lourdes QC) now) to a Montessorri togethr with my daughter. We love in Caloocan kaya nearby QC area lang like Scout area, Congressional, Mindanao and sa may Sikatuna. Thanks.

For grade 1 around 83k for annual fee.  I am not sure for next SY since they haven't released their new rates yet.
