@ sis raven12: I got her 50% off on nano peel so 2k sya that time; regular price is 4k. I availed of 4 peels na every week. So total was 8k for the whole month treatment for nano peel. Totally worth it IMO, di ako hiyang sa ibang peels, sa nano peel lang ng derma ko.  :)

Hi raven12 from newyorkbeauty: Got your message but can't message you privately. I am still new to the forum.  Anyway, regarding your question on back acne and acne marks, it is always a challenge
to provide an effective efficient treatment for back acne and its mark on the skin which stays on the skin long after the acne is gone. Of course prevention is always best, but if you are genetically prone to acne, it comes at its worst time, always, right?. Professionally, you can have a series of glycolic/salicylic acid
peels and a diligent home care of lightening agent products, twice daily, morning and night. If you are prone to acne, face or back, you must take a closer look at your diet and water intake. Too much salt, sugar in the diet is a no no for acne sufferers, too much meat and nuts too. Back acne is sometimes difficult to treat because of its location. Sweat, oil, dirt and dead surface skin are culprits to acne prone individuals, so exfoliation is a must and lighteners to even out acne marks. You can always ice your acne, be it face or back. I know it is hard to be sweat-free in the Philippines, but just be aware to really
clean your face and body more.  When I come for vacation, I take showers more than 4 times a day. I just hope I answered your questions. Oxygen treatments will also help. Thanks for asking raven12, hope I can do a treatment on you once I open in Manila soon. Regards and take care.

Long time sufferer of bacne here.

Started when I was in high school. Got those bumps and rashes on my back (more concentrated on my upper back). It was soooo itchy that sometimes all I could do was to scratch and scratch and I couldn't even sleep at night. Thus, I ended up developing a lot of scars and wounds on my back, and what's worse is that my back became sooo dark to the point that it became the darkest surface of my entire integumentary system - even darker than my underarms and groin, and arms (which were super dark due to sun exposure). I also developed acne on my chest, but my back had worse. I lost my self-confidence completely after getting those. Before, I always used to wear backless (I was known in the family for wearing backless clothes cause it's extremely hot here in Manila), but after developing bacne and until now, I can't even wear spaghetti anymore. I've never felt uglier in my entire life and due to this, even suffered from depression because no matter what I do, it doesn't go away. :'(

Spent thousands of bucks on medicines as prescribed by our first ever derma. Sadly, that derma (she has her own clinic somewhere here in QC and was recommended by our relatives) just milked money out of us. No procedures were undergone, just meds alone (which were all provided by her clinic). No tests were even done; she just diagnosed based on her observation. What's worse is that she even misdiagnosed my condition. She said it was chicken skin. I mean, seriously?! She didn't even touch nor palpate my skin!

For years, I had been suffering from chronic depression and thought I was suffering from psoriasis and there's nothing I could ever do about it. Stayed with that incompetent derma for years (because we didn't know other dermas)... until I discovered Tathion 307 (Oral glutathione from Japan) in another forum when I completely gave up on my back and just focused on making my skin fairer.

After taking Tathion 307 (I started 2-3 years ago after graduating from college - just imagine the years I've been suffering due to bacne), in just 2 weeks, my bacne completely healed and disappeared. Seriously. I couldn't even believe it myself. I continued taking it because I was scared that once I stop, the bacne would come back to haunt me again. Anyway, I did stop last, last December after more than a year of taking it religiously. I tapered it first then completely withdrew from it - mainly because I was curious if I have to be dependent on it for a lifetime, and replaced it with ph338 (which is a cheaper alternative to Tathion 307). Well, I was right. After 2 weeks, my back itched, developed bumps, etc. Resorted to topical anti-acne medications but nothing worked.

Finally seeking professional help and a second opinion, I consulted Dr. Sixta Foronda (Dr. 6F) as I read in this forum that she's one of the highly raved dermas alongside Dr. Leah Martires. True enough, my previous derma misdiagnosed me. In just one look and running her bare palm on my back, Dr 6F told me it's not psoriasis (could you even imagine my shock at that? I've been dreading all those years that I might have psoriasis) but truncal acne. She explained to me everything there is to say about acne, specifically, bacne, and did a TCA peel on my chest and back. Eventually, I decided to go back to Tathion 307, and my bacne is gone in a week's time.

For about a year already, I've been undergoing TCA back peels with Dr. Leah Martires, and my skin has improved albeit little by little. I'm just glad that my bacne is gone for good (I hope), and I'm just focusing right now on making my back fair and flawless like it was before the onset of the bacne. Right now, I'm using Kojie-san Kojic Acid Soap and Kligman's lotion (as prescribed by Dr. Leah) on my back.

@girlalou 30-day supply for P2,100 from Cheska's store (Just google her up - her multiply is already gone so I'm getting mine through her eBay store). Pretty expensive, but it's my only salvation so I really find a way to sustain this expensive treatment.

I just want to thank this thread all the inputs made.

I've been having back acne for 5 years now (I think) and that means 5 years of wearing sleeved tops.  :(

I hope one of these will work for me.

It's been 2 months already and there are improvements on my back.

Just to give a little background:
> My back gets a combination of cystic and normal acne.
> Due to this, my back accumulated scars (dark pigmentation).

What I did:
> Changed my shampoo to Head and Shoulders and conditioner to Cream Silk.
> When I wash my hair, I turn my hair over so that it won't touch my back.

If I understood it correctly, anti-dandruff shampoo and Cream Silk are "back-friendly". So if you change your shampoo and conditioner, you don't need to turn your hair over when you wash it. I did both just to be sure XD

> I use Kojic soap to lighten the scars.
> Scrub my back using bath salts. I only do this sparingly. If you have severe backne, I suggest that you don't scrub your back. It might get irritated and gets worse.

Result:
> The scars are lighter
> Smooth back

I still get acnes but only before I get my period. I hope I'll get my result after 2 more months.

^I had the same bacne problem few years ago. I think the culprit was either Dove Shampoo or Rejoice. Either of the two lang. As soon as I stopped, hindi na nadagdagan ang bacne but the marks were there that's why I had to do a diamond peel on my back. I recently bought Dove Conditioner hoping this will not cause any bacne. So far sa 1 week use ko, clear pa naman ang back ko. I just make sure I rinse my hair properly and pag totally rinsed off na ang conditioner, apply ako ulit ng soap sa back ko to clear.

this worked for me:

1. went to the derma and got back peeling (P1,000). basically, it's just facial for the back, with the pricking and all.
2. "shampooed" my back with nizoral every other day. this is after rinsing shampoo and conditioner on the hair. the ketoconazole ingredient is what works against the fungi (it's not really acne acc to my derma). on days I don't use nizoral, I use Dial anti-bacterial soap.
3. I apply glycolic lotion 10% then eventually 15% (P250) every day on my back.

I still have marks but I am confident they will lighten through time and some sun exposure. :)
