Dokie, my marks were really bad also.  Pati upper arms ko meron din marks because of severe Keratosis Pilaris.  Just have to warn you the deep TCA peel is very very painful.  I suggest you ask Dra. if you can take a painkiller 30 minutes before the treatment. The worst of the peeling from the TCA should be over in two weeks.  Then she will likely ask you apply the "night cream" which will cause further peeling. Don't be disappointed if the marks are not completely gone after the first two weeks.  For me it took about a month, and then another week for the residual redness to subside.  By your deadline, likely pantay na ang color ng skin mo.  Sobrang hassle yung peeling and application ng meds, but it was totally worth the pain for me.  I had previously gone to two other dermatologists who did more "high-tech" treatments for my back scars, which were far more expensive and did not work.  Dra. Gatmaytan was a godsend to me and I hope it will be the same for you.

i jut finished my session with dr gatmaytan. grabe sobrang sakit. chemodebrasion yata tawag dun kasi accdg to her grabe daw yung marks ko. ika nga kung may severe acne, skin naman severe marks hehe.

Mejo high spirits ako ngayon kaso pina evaluate ko sa kanya ang skin ko, sabi niya sobrang deep d\ng pigmentation but matagal na daw two months.. she was even joking habang apply niya gamot. Shes really nice.

Tomorrow pa ako mag start ng cream, hopefully umok. Sabi niya meron pa daw mas grabe sa akin, im ot the worst na nakita niya pero umok namna daw. Sa totoo lang, mura lang yung nagastos ko at cream lang talaga pinabili niya, wala ng iba. Thanks dito sa giorl talk at nalaman ko about dr gatmaytan. tiisin ko tong 2 weeks na to. kaya ko to hehe

Hi. Eto na pala update sa akin.

3 weeks na after i had a chemobrasion with dr Gatmaytan
so far, nasa 80% na ata to kasi nag white na ibang parts.
Im satisfied naman sa nangyari kasi nawala yung mga black marks ko na grabe talaga. May naiwan pa na unti na lang, maybe in a week or two mawala to. I just keep a positive attitude talaga.

Yun nga lang sobrang hirap nung mga weeks na gabi gabi ka apply sa likod, makati siya at mahapdi pa. Pero sa nakikita ko worth it naman. I also applied yung cream sa ibang dark spots ko sa shoulders. and umepek naman. Though at first, mamumula at kakabahan ka talaga. Patience lang talaga and tiwala ke dra. Pina check up ko din last week sa kanya. and she said, she's happy na laki ng inimprove.

nagkabacne din ako before, what I did is pumunta ako sa forever flawless para ipatanggal yung mga pimps. Once ko lang yun ginawa, then yung soap na ginamit ko is dove for maintenance.

thanks marg for referring me to dra.. may question ako, may maintenance cream ka ba na ginamit after nung nawala na marks mo?

That was 13 1/2 years ago na when Dra. G took care of my back. It was done just in time for my wedding.  Believe it or not, in the 6 yrs. my husband and I were together before we got married, he NEVER saw my back.  I was so self-conscious.

I got pregnant immediately after the wedding, and the problem has not re-occurred to the same extent. I had to go on birth control pills after giving birth because of other health concerns.  That is why I am convinced the cause for the bacne was really hormonal - kasi during pregnancy and while on the pill, my skin was super super clear. Very infrequently I will get one zit on my back, but it clears up quickly.  When that happens, I use Sastid bar (salicylic acid and sulfur soap, available at drugstores), and I spot treat with Sansacne erythromycin gel.

I've been careful in washing conditioner off my hair, and it has helped reduce and downright prevent bacne for me. Using a scrubbing towel also helps.

That was a long time ago na nga.. I feel that way too. i cant wear backless and very self conscious. Now, the redness started to fade away. I was really nervous nung sobrang red. But dra assured me its perfectly normal. Thanks again. I would update na lang pag pantay na, im having 2 months allowance for this. By that time, probably back to normal na ang color.

dati marami din akong backne at nagtataka lang ako kasi nawala lang sya eh wala naman akong gamot na ginamit. baka hormonal din ito gaya ng zits sa face.

just to reiterate (and additional info about the drugs) here are the instructions:

Instructions ni dra. g on how to use the cream to have a flawless back in 1 month: ^_^

1. Every night, Apply the Cream thickly (as in my white layer of cream on your skin) on the affected areas (DO NOT APPLY on Underarm, Face, or any sensitive part) for 3 to 7 days.

2. Itapat sa electric fan and let the cream dry. Every Night to ok. IMPORTANT: The morning after, don't soap the cream off. Just rinse the area with water.

3. You will eventually see chunks of skin falling off after those 3-7 days. DO NOT force peeling.

4. When you start to see the peeling process, continue applying the cream THINLY from this time (no white layer of cream should be visible after application).

5. You will peel for the 2nd - 3rd week. If you can't handle the itch, you can take Claritin once a day. or apply COLD COMPRESS on itchy areas.

Remember to AVOID Scratching as this will cause more scars later.

6. Letting an electric fan dry your back after applying the cream will greatly help.

7. Please use Cold Compress on the itchy areas. Or take Claritin once a day.

8. For maintainance, just apply thinly every night.
