hello, matagal na akong lurker dito kaso busy mommy kaya di ako makapag-start. Parang feeling ko ang pinakamadaling gawin is makipagtie up na lang sa existing agency at mag start ng home based travel agency. Mahilig kasi kami magtravel halos monthly may gusto umalis sa amin. ZFeeling ko sa mga kamaganak ko pa lang kikita na ako hehe. Kanino kaya ako pwede maki-tie up na existing agency. Isa pa, Tuguegarao based ako, may extra office space pa kami pero mas gusto ko sana yung home based lang bago ko gastusan ang office space.

a friend offer me kung gusto ko daw [textspeak!] masyadong set up, pay her 150k sa kanya and i can have parang branch, she's in batangas and im in lucban quezon, 150k includes laptop with software na, training and mayors permit n [textspeak!] daw aayusin ko...

do you think its reasonable price? also she paid 50k bond to airphils...

With GT Trends, they will teach you their system, meaning reliant ka sa kanila and you will have no chances of selling other products outside of what they are selling. Although wala namang masama dito as business model nila yun, medyo disadvantage sa iyo. Pero kung mas ok for you na isang company lang ang kausap mo sa lahat ng transaksyon then go ahead and give them a try.

I was with GT trends din before have my online travel agency kaso di naging successful daming online competition, mahina ang kita pero very promising ang mga perks and everything at may mga naging successful din kaso di ako kasing lucky nila. and you need to maintain a monthly fee para active pa din yong online agency ko lugi kasi hindi ko bawi. kaya tinigil ko na lang.

^ talaga sis, buti na lang, gusto ko sana subukan yun, pero yung nag-ayos ng singapore tour ko for September, kinausap ko kung pwede ako tie up sa kanila, pumayag naman, update ko pa ng Monday.

mga sis help me naman, if ever po ba na makapagparegister ako sa dti and maayos ko lahat ang mga docs. Plano ko po kasi homebased muna, ask ko lang po na need ko na rin po ba magbayad ng TAX? or pwede rin pong hindi na muna magbayad since bago palang naman sa business? Sana makahanap din ako ng katie up soon.

sa city niyo, they will ask for your BIR forms para marenew ka ulit.

Hello, pa-input naman ng ideas. Starting pa lang ako kaso feeling ko me mali sa mga ginagawa ko eh. Kung sideline ko lang ito kailangan pa ba ng mga DTI, etc, etc? Kung makiki-tie up lang naman ako, ano ba dapat ibigay sa akin ng ka-tie up ko?

Hi sis. What do you mean? Medyo naconfuse naman ako. Ano ba gusto mo - yung may online travel store ka or baka ang gusto mo eh maging sub-agent ng isang agency?

Kasi sa travel business, important talaga ang tie-ups. May katie-up ka na magiissue ng tickets sa yo, may katie-up ka rin na tour operators kung ayaw mong magorganize ng tours etc, etc.

Pero kung gusto mo lang matignan mo muna how the business works, pwede ka rin maging sub-agent or magrefer ka ng clients sa mga kakilala mo na may agency. Profit sharing kayo.

^ Oh wow, now this is the missing link... hehe, ang lupit ng katangahan ko hahaha. So, now I understand, I'm currently doing sub-agent. Pero what I want is my own online travel store. Sis sorry confused din ako e.

Maybe now, my question is how to do tie ups? San, sino ang lalapitan ko? Parang di ko type yung naghihintay sa mga agent kung available ang package o hindi, mas gusto ko yung ako mismo naghahanap ng fares, hotel, etc. Having said that, kailangan ko nga ng katie-up, pero where do i start to look for one?

Hi sis. If you really want to get the contracted rates from the hotels, fares, packages from tour operators, you will need documentation. Kasi they won't just give that to you ng basta basta. You need to provide evidence na you're from the travel industry. That's how legitimate travel agents are protected din. Kasi sa business na to, important ang cooperation ng bawat isa. Example, let's say a client ask me kung may package ba ko sa ilocos. syempre sabihin ko oo. Now, I am in Manila. So what I would do is contact my travel agency tie-up sa ilocos. Sa kanya ngayon ako kukuha ng package since siya gamay niya yung lugar dun. I am also assured na maasikaso guests ko. Ngayon bibigyan niya ko ng contracted rates, so yun ang profit ko. Now you ask pano yung branding mo. You would give your guests vouchers na may logo mo. Na ihohonor naman ng katie-up mo kasi understood na clients mo yun eh. Siya na naman pwede rin magpasa sa yon ng clients. Ganun yung business. Sa profit margin na lang kayo magiiba.

Mas malaki kita if you would organize the tours by yourself pero medyo toxic siya. Imagine liaising with the hotel, van operators etc etc. all at the same time.

Since service ang pinoprovide natin, be prepared to have a 24/7 job. Madami kasi unexpected sa business na to. You always want to give excellent service sa clients mo. Walang day off. Just last Sunday, I was on the phone all morning coordinating with my contacts in Palawan. Nadelay kasi flight nung clients namin so I have to make sure na sabihan yung hotel para alam kung kelan sila sunduin sa airport. I also have to talk to the tour organizer to make sure na aabot sa tour yung guests namin kasi an early morning flight turned into an almost afternoon flight. ganun kadelay ang flights nila.
