For those who are really interested to pursue this business I suggest to go and start your road to success by attending seminars such as those offered by TRC. Not only will you learn the technicalities involved, no strings attached pa. Compared that to seminars offered by other travel agencies, required kang sa kanila makipag tie ups and di ka pa sure kung ituturo sa iyo lahat. Some design their seminars in such a way that you will be reliant on them.

i started arranging tours summer of last year...nagconcentrate lang muna ko dun sa mga places na napuntahan ko na like palawan (puerto princesa), bohol and boracay...then i contacted various hotels/ resorts to give me discounts...may mga nakuha na rin ako contact for van and boat services...they gave me discounted rates so dun ako kumikita...like sa mga hotels/ resorts, commissions ranges from 8% to 20% of published rates...so ok na rin...wala akong office, i just created a website and madami rin inquiries...problem is di ko masyado matutukan cause i'm currently employed...hopefully soon mabigyan ko sya ng enough time cause I can see that there's a potential in the business...plus factor pa na gusto ko ang ginagawa ko...

Hi mga sissies, I also have this business. I franchise an online travel agency. 15K lang capital ko, much less expenses compared sa mga nag set-up ng typical office na capital is 1.8M.

1 advantage kase ng meron ka talagang office is yung walk in clients, yung mga dumadaan lang sa lugar mo tapos biglang gusto pala mag papassport...kase you can also offer passporting, visa assistance, documents authentication, NSO, tour packages, fax services, xerox and even western union...kaya one stop shop na din yun.

yap, yun ang sabi ng speaker ng inattenand kong seminar. sobrang dami na daw kasing travel agency sa makati.

I would suggest you take a short course on how to start a travel agency. Para mas maigsi yung time spent on learning instead of asking questions here every step of the way, kasi although marami namang willing tumulong dito, there are some things na better learned in a formal set up. Tips and tricks you can learn from here, pero the actual operation, matutunan mo lang the very basic from a seminar, the rest is through experience na talaga. Yun nga lang yung time spent on learning is much shorter kung mag seminar ka.

Yung sa Passporting, 1 year pa of continuous operations bago ka pwede mag apply ng accreditationsa DFA, as for NSO, kung me permits ka na pwede ka na mag-apply agad for accreditation. How to learn it, try mong maglakad ng sarili mong papel sa NSO and DFA to familiarize yourself with the procedures. Tapos nun bahala ka na gumawa ng diskarte to make it easier for you and more profitable. Yung sa tie ups, you need to approach the agencies mismo, yun nga lang need mo to present your permits.

re: tour packages, if domestic, madali lang yan, para ka lang event facilitator. tawag ka lang sa mga hotels dun sa area then sila na ang bahala sa itinerary. usually meron silang inooffer....international naman, i-coordinate mo sa operator or IATA na tie up mo..

mga sis, hindi ko pa rin ma gets kung panong gagawin pag online booking ka lang..i've work in a call center before i'm a travel agent..so i know yung mga concerns nila customer..my mga connections naman kame since most of my titas work sa bank and government..and madalas ko na din sila nagagawan ng booking..yun nga lang free of charge..heheh.
