^Hay naku.  It happened to me on my MNL-VIR-MNL flight.  Eticket says sunday we fly back to manila, only to find out that there's no flight on sunday but on wednesday pa.  Imagine, I had a deadline on monday tapos they could'nt fly me back the day before.  Kakainis talaga yang zest air kaya binoboycott ko yan.  They never paid for my extra day sa hotel at food.  Pangit man magwish ng masama, pero i hope mawalan sila ng customer kahit anong mura pa ng fare nila para maturuan sila ng leksyon.

Thank God, meron nang cebu pacific sa Virac ngayon para maraming kumpetisyon ang pesteng asian spirit na yan.

oo nga sana umayos sila. i've heard a lot of nega things bout them. nag cacancel nga daw sila ng flights last minute. a day before ganun. pero sila mas mura eh. kaya yun. sana naman wag mangyari samin to. baka kakatipid ko lalo ma ruin vacay namin.

Zest Air's service would vastly improve if they're under Cebu Pacific's management because their processes will be standardized and they can finally have some quality assurance. It would be like we're availing a cheaper version of cebu pacific.

Hooray for us indeed!

Zest Air woes

The crash landing by Zest Air’s new MA60 aircraft at Caticlan, the jump-off point to the resort island of Boracay, over the weekend was the latest black eye on the record of the Chinese-made turboprop.

Since its first flight in 2004, the MA60 has been bought mainly by African airlines, including the airline of Zimbabwe, where it had its first “incident.”

Apparently, even Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe avoids taking the airplane. According to one online news report published last year, Mugabe threw a fit when officials tried to put him and his family on an MA60. He ordered Air Zimbabwe to divert one of its B767s to take the presidential party to its destination, making hundreds of paying passengers wait.

From all indications, however, there was nothing wrong with the Zest Air aircraft, which investigators said experienced a phenomenon called “wind shear” just as it was about to land.

Still, Zest Air will have to work doubly hard to improve its planes’ record, especially with some of its critics pointing to the fact that the MA60 has not been certified by aviation authorities in the United States and the United Kingdom. Daxim L. Lucas

sis, if ever may article na ganyan it's not true. As it is right now, LG has his hands full with CebPac. It's not sound business to acquire a problematic company like Zest Air.

^ i also hope it's not true. i do not think LG will buy Zestair considering bago mga planes nila. why will they acquire lumang planes?

saka one more thing. yung cebu pac has standard model of planes. the big and small ones. two models lang meron sila. kaya daw sila nakakapagoffer ng murang flight is because they maintain only a set of experts for each type of plane (meaning 2 teams lang yung sinuswelduhan nila to maintain the planes). di katulad ng iba na maraming sinuswelduhan kaya di maibaba ang price.

No, they are not owned by Cebu Pacific.

Asian Spirit was bought out by Yao's Zest-O Corporation. You guessed it right! They're the ones behind Zest-o Juice drink hence the name Zest Air.

Girls, once and for all para ma-stop na this rumor. I have it in good authority that Cebu Pacific does not own or has no plans to buy Zest Air.

@Starlust, yes I posted that earlier.

@alpha, you're correct. Having only two types of equipment greatly helps in streamlining their operations. Although, your example on the salary is not exactly right. They only have one maintenance department that takes care of both equipment. The cabin crew are the same. Sa flight deck crew or pilots ang may different payscale corresponding to their equipment rating and seniority in the company.

^ hi mga sisses. sorry for the wrong info. i spent two nights trying to search kung saan ko nabasa yung article na yun. i searched my email, blogs, etc.. i even texted some people na parang naalala ko na nadiscuss naming yung about cebu pac-zest air thing. i even thought i might have read it somewhere in Puerto Princessa airport kasi i think Zest air yata is not allowed na in Puerto Princessa. haaay, effect ng anesthesia.

I think the right news should be that the whole marketing team of Cebu Pacific was pirated by Zest Air.
