Asian Spirit/Zest Air

i've been reading a lot of feedback from other threads, so maybe we could collate all of them here.  most are not so good feedback though.

i'll be flying asian spirit by end of the month, i am hoping that there are no delays or worse, cancellation of flights. i flew with them before, twice, around 2006, and i didn't encounter any problems at all. i wasn't too alarmed during the flight, as i already expected that it won't be as smooth compared to flying with a bigger plane. i wonder though, why there are sooo many delayed flights and complaints lately.

sana makarinig man lang ako ng at least one on time flight. haha.

^my significant other, her family members and I use Asian Spirit for most of the time.

in her area, Asian Spirit cancels a bit frequently due to bad weather. I guess depende naman yan where are you bound to.

wala naman ako complaints so far re: Asian Spirit/Zest Air. never pa naman na-delay ang flight ko nor na-cancel (Manila to her area).

we availed of their Php 499 promo - one way. Nakakatuwa. Sana hindi ma-cancel kasi end of January pa yung binili kong ticket for my S.O.

ang problema lang ngayon yung website nila. most of the time page load error.

nag asian spirit ako nung pumunta akong batanes last month. may bagyo noon dito sa metro manila kaya napaaga ang flight namin. nacancel naman iyong flight ng makakasama sana namin sa tour. kinancel daw kasi ng basco airport.

nung nagpabook naman ako nasira iyong system nila. nadouble booking tuloy ako. buti na lang narefund ko rin iyon after 2 months.

^that's not bad waiting time for refund ha. cebu pacific daw kasi, 6 months na, wala pa rin yung refund.

i don't mind flights being delayed or cancelled because of bad weather. syempre for safety na rin yun. but if it's just because of poor planning, hay naku!

oo kasi lagi akong tumatawag sa airline nila. di ko talaga tinigilan hanggat di marefund. aba di ko ata kasalanan na madouble booking ako. system nila ang may kasalanan. naibalik naman kaya thankful pa rin ako.

ay may kwento pa pala ako. iyong nasakyan ko kasing plane amoy kulob sa loob atsaka mainit. di binuksan ang aircon hanggat di nagtetake off. kaya super paypay ako sa plane.

^hahaha same here. pagpasok pa lang medyo mainit na. sa flight pa lang bubuksan yung aircon.

I remember complaining several times regarding the leaking aircon of Asian Spirit. as in para kang naliligo sa loob ng plane while 13000 feet above the ground!

Nako, my boyfie and I will be flying with Zest Air this December bound for Boracay. At first very hesitant si boyfie kasi nga ang daming jokes about this airline di ba? Like pag alis mo daw Asian ka, pag dating mo sa destination Spirit ka na. 

Pero we had no choice kasi we had the worst time with Air Philippines the last time we went to Bora. Same with Cebu Pac. We almost never make it to Bora kasi their aircrafts daw are in maintenance. Di ba wtf? Kaya kahit scary and reputation ng Zest Air, we booked a flight with them na rin. Less than an hour lang naman ang duration ng flight and they have the most number of flights to Caticlan. 

BTW, do they have meals or do we have to purchase it?

^anong juice, sis? when i flew with cebu pac kasi they gave us a small c2 bottle and a local version of oreo.

^nakalimutan ko kung anong brand ng juice basta nakatetra pack lang iyong juice na binigay. namimigay na ulit ngayon ng food ang cebu pacific? last august kasi walang binibigay na food at drinks nung pumunta akong cdo.

^i was pertaining to a trip i made last 2006 pa yata. and yeah, the last time i flew with cebu pac wala na ngang food. hehe.

I'm curious, how's the experience with flying in Asian Spirit/Zest Air? I'm a bit apprehensive about planes (actually I'm terrified) and I've heard about the somewhat negative reputation of Asian Spirit "Fly an Asian, land a spirit" is it "mayugyog?" I've only flown in Cebu Pacific and Air Philippines. The lighter the plane the more it sways when a bit of wind hits it.

Zest Air is now owned by the owner of Zesto juice drinks hence the name Zest Air. So expect Zesto products if ever they serve anything on board their flights.

hahaha  my significant other told me that they're indeed serving Zest-O juice, water and coffee. no food, though.

forgot to update here.

on our last trip to caticlan, they served only drinks. you have a choice of either juice(zesto), or water.

our departure time from manila was 6:30 am. we arrived at the airport before 5am. since we were early, and the 5:10 flight wasn't full, they accommodated us on that flight, so we didn't have to spend more than an hour in the airport.

on our way back naman, we were supposed to leave caticlan airport at 2:10 pm. again, we were early, so we were able to get on the 1:30 pm flight.

everything was ok. the flights(going and coming back) were uneventful. i think they are using newer planes na. i was able to ride on an older plane, asian spirit din, year 2006, so i know the difference. wala na rin 'mist' because of the aircon, or leaking aircon.

Just got this from my previous post:

ASIAN SPIRIT - Its nearing our coron trip and yet i had an instinct of confirming our flight (which we don't normally do with other airlines) for the fear of being bumped off again.  True enough, they removed their monday flights, pero confirmed sya sa e-ticket namin ng friend ko.  ME AND MY FRIEND NEVER RECEIVED ANY CALLS FROM THEM ADVISING US THAT THE MONDAY RETURN FLIGHT NO LONGER EXIST.  What's more alarming is the fact that the next flight is after two days pa.  The thought of being stranded in coron for 2 days gives me the shivers.  Pano na ang trabaho ko?

PLEASE DON'T PATRONIZE ASIAN SPIRIT.  I see that they receive dozens of complaints pero they keep bumping off their flights without informing their passengers.  The only way is for their business to suffer, maybe by then they will see the light.

Already fooled by Asian Spirit twice already (I guess shame on me.  Can't help but be fooled due to their very low prices). 

1st experience was during my trip in virac.  Return flight on sunday was confirmed based on the e-ticket.  Then without even advising us, they changed the flight to following day.  They didn't even paid for the hotel and the food because they gave us this lousy excuse that I gave them the wrong number that's why we were not informed (I was told that I gave 0918 when my cell starts @0917..ggrr!!)

Every booking I made with them, we always gets bumped off.  So for those blinded by the low price (such as myself.. he he he) just be sure to confirm your flight DAY BEFORE THE ACTUAL SCHEDULED FLIGHT.  Just to be able to prepare yourselves for plan B in case they will bump it off.

Add ko lang pala.  On our flight to Busuanga / Coron.  Tumutulo yung aircon kaya we changed seats.  Tapos doon sa nilipatan namin, tumutulo din.  Ha ha ha.  Para kang nakasakay sa Non aircon bus.
