[Frozen Toes]

In Manila, 4 na Thai restos pa lang natatry ko. These are Som's, Muang Thai, Dek A, and Jatujak.

Cheapest yung sa Dek A. Thai-Filipina yung may ari and she sources her ingredients from Thailand pa daw. Don't expect much sa place kasi it's very down to earth and nothing sophisticated. Sulit naman and binabalik-balikan namin 'to. Di ko masyado feel yung pagkakagawa ng Pad Thai. Parang a little sweet and soggy pero okay na rin for Php 180.

Best Thai Iced Tea sa Jatujak. Php 70 for a tall glass (as in tall talaga). Panalo rin Bagoong Rice nila. Pwede na yung lang oorderin ko kasi may minced beef siya sa side plus shredded green mangoes and strips of eggs (I think egg yon).

Sa Muang Thai, gusto ko yung catfish and green mango salad. Very refreshing. A bit better than Jatujak's version. Yung sa Jatujak kasi, medyo wet yung bottom ng plate. Dahil siguro sa green mangoes.

Som's, no need na magcomment pa ko. Lahat naman ata nakakain na dito. Gusto ko yung red curry nila.

Gusto ko next i-try Mango Tree Bistro.

^ Recommended nga sa thread na 'to yang mga yan. Pag nag crave ulit ako. Pero yung Benjarong, kasama yan sa Sunday Crossover ng Dusit di ba? Yun ang itatarget ko para sulit.

na-try ko na din sa Thai Silk not really impressed.. try n'yo yung resto sa Fields Ave sa Angeles City.. it is called Thai Batt, thai national yung cook nila pati yung owner nung place..

pero i noticed lang na iba parin talaga yung taste ng food nila pag nandoon ka sa Thailand kesa yung thai food dito sa pinas kahit pa thai din yung cook, especially sa Tom Yum, malaki talaga yung difference ng taste

Happened to pass by Kapitolyo, Pasig last night and saw this little resto "NAV" near Pioneer. It says modern Thai cuisine. Will try that soon.

I love thai food because I love spicy food kaya lang my hubby and son doesn't like spicy food kaya hindi na ako nakakapag food trip ng thai cusine. I really miss thai food....
dati I used to eat @ Sukothai sa megamall I love their chicken pandan and bagoong rice.
sa Jatujak naman sa MOA masarap din ang bagoong rice nila. Curry is ok  and i also love their halo-halo hindi naman super special yung halo halo nila pero kasi yung mga dapat ilagay sa halo halo nandun tapos parang less than 100 lang.

Soms hindi ko makita kapag pumupunta ako ng rockwell but my friend said yung may-ari daw nun chef ng Sukothai dati.

May bagong resto sa robinsons manila Soi may nakapagtry na ba?

yup, buffet on weekends kasama yung benjarong sa crossover buffet but you can order ala carte on weekdays

for those interested to learn the basics of thai cooking but can't visit thailand just yet, dusit thani manila offers a cooking class under its benjarong chef khun pracharaporn. it's only p1,500 inclusive of a uniform. the class will be held in dusit's kitchen.

Nag food trip kami ni hubby Thai food since Wednesday.

We tried Crustasia in Shangri La Plaza. We ordered seafood rice, pork satay (sp?), catfish and green mango salad. Nothing special, medyo mahal pa. But we enjoyed their lemongrass iced tea.

SOM's, coz naligaw kami sa Mandaluyong CityHall. We tried their catfish and mango salad, fresh spring roll and milk tea. Ok yung spring roll, especially the dip. Very refreshing lang kasi we've been eating fried/grilled stuff so that spring roll was a welcome treat. Very cheap too, medyo bitin lang yung milk tea hehe masarap kasi and it has a distinct taste na authentic Thai talaga. Though it has a carinderia setting, very nice naman and well=kept yung place. It also helps na may parking sila (coz of the third resto that we tried, no parking!)

NAV, in Kapitolyo. The ambience is nice (it's new), service is great. We ordered fried tilapia in tamarond sauce (specialty ata to, bummer kasi walang fixed price, ours was a P350), beef and pineapple rice and Thai tea. The tilapia was good, it's just that hindi sya crispy (lol, I don't even know if it should be crispy at all!) but the tamarind sauce was something new to us, masarap naman but a little salty for my taste (I can taste the Thai patis hehe), our fave was the rice, we decided to make gaya at home. Thai tea was also good, it's served in a tall glass, medyo mahal at P110 but masarap narin naman so ok lang for the price (it's just that I think there are resto out there who offers the same at a lower price). No parking! We wanted to eat sana, galing kami sa work. Pero walang parking sa NAV mismo, and Pioneer Center (nearby grocery with huuuge parking space) so we went home, parked our car and took a 5-minute ride via tricycle to NAV. Gutom na gutom pa naman kami  anyways, ang rating ko is okay naman yun food, medyo mahal lang and no parking space  and oh, their menu was printed on a draft paper (xeroxed hehe gulat kami ni hubby kasi very very nice ng place, upscale/hip interiors) not that it matters pero ang mahal kasi ng food.
