inaabangan ko pa nun kung magbubukas sila after ng holiday season.
akala ko nag-renovate lang..

^ Mukhang hindi (although hindi ko pa nasubukan magpa-reserve).  Soms is like a carinderia.

Had dinner with my colleagues at People's Palace in GB3 last Tuesday. I don't have any point of comparison with Thai food pa naman but I still didn't like it that much. The shrimp and pomelo salad tasted like flowers to me cus of the herbs they used. I only liked Khao Pad which is basically fried rice with chicken.

^it's right in front of the city hall. place is much cleaner, pero the food isn't quite the same daw.

^ The best time to try soms was several years back. But however good the food was back then, mas masarap pa rin ang food sa hawker stalls sa bkk.

I've been craving thai food these days. Had dinner the other night at banana leaf, some food were good, some were so-so. I saw som's near rockwell, so now alam ko na kung san! Yipeee

if you want to immerse yourself into the authentic taste of Thailand i think you should try at benjarong royal thai restaurant.

Hi, sis! May I know what you mean by "namayapa"? If it means that the owner passed away as I understood it, may I know the name of the owner you are referring to and your source? Baka magka-iba tayo ng kilala.
Pasensya na, but Soms Makati is located very near my parents' place and my dad is friends with the Thai owner, Pat, who I know is very much alive and well. I had to ask my dad after I read your post if Soms was owned by some other Thai before, but to his knowledge, Pat was and is still the owner. According to my dad, Soms was named after the daughter of Pat.
As to kung pumangit yung food, I wouldn't really know since even though we know the owner, my family and I have only tried eating their food once (last month lang as I previously posted). One of my brothers, however, frequently orders from them, when he is here from abroad.
I just wish they would provide their customers with ample parking space because during peak days, umaabot sa street where my parents live yung cars ng customers nila.
