 I was starting with steel strings already, but my dad advised me to start with nylon strings first.  But it's okay, I guess. The upside of this is that I'm going to buy a new guitar!  Would you have any recommendations? I've heard the Yamaha C40 is good for beginners, but I want to try other models, if other brands would be better. Kindly post the prices as well, and the store where I can buy it if you know.  Because I'm still a beginner, I would prefer a guitar that's of good quality but is not that expensive. Immediate answers will be very much appreciated. Thank you!


Also, do you know if the song Lead Me To The Cross by Hillsong United, After Tonight by Justin Nozuka, Sweet Pea by Amos Lee and You Give Me Something by James Morrison could be played on classical guitar?  Thanks again!

sis, if you're really dedicated to learn the guitar and all those bending, slide, trills, tapsblah blah. I suggest that you start either with a 1) steel string acoustic guitar that's easy on your fingers (tension) or 2) a cheap electric guitar. Both will be easy on your fingers and you will learn faster. for example, its hard to play songs with a lot of bends in a classical guitar. when you do those bends that go to 2 steps higher or beyond...well kukulangin pa yung width ng fret board for that note to register....

pero kung pa strum strum lang. pwede na ang nylon classical guitar.

my babyLove owns an ibanez acoustic... a yamaha, fender and ibanez eLectric... and Lotsa Lotsa stuffs and effects... her dad is in a band kase so their famiLy is somewhat musicaLLy incLined...

i wish i could play the guitar. when i was a kid, i used to play piano pero un mga basic lang like silent night. un mga super dali. sayang hindi ko nakahiligan nung bata pa ko. wala tuloy akong alam ngayon. haizz.. kakahinayang..

I always wanted to play the piano. I took lesson in HS but I didn't continue so now, I'm thinking of rekindling my lost love for it. I don't want to grow old without knowing how to play at least one musical instrument but before learning how to play piano, I'll first learn the basics of guitar playing. Guitar lessons kasi are being offered in my school's recreational services so might as well take it. It's not free but still, it won't hurt for me to learn it.
