I mix lemon, vinegar ( lotsa this)  water and eucalyptus oil as my green cleaners.

Cheap and effective.

sorry sa late reaction pero grabe nga ang pagpanic ni sis sa dirts. Hehe! Ok lang magkaroon din ng dumi kahit papaano kasi magiging weak babies mo paglaki or super daming allergies.

Ako naman napintasan ng byenan ko for being very clean and maselan! Ayaw daw nya bantayan ang magiging new baby ko dahil sa MASELAN DAW AKO MASYADO.
Nakasama na kase namin sya mag travel kaya nabantayan ata mga kinikilos ko, I always have alcohol (or wipes, hand sanitizer) in my bag, everytime I'll feed my child mag aalcohol muna ako, after using the CR, i'll wash and use alcohol (a must after i use the CR!), at ang anak ko when eating, i also wipe her hands with wipes and hand sanitizer, and her table pinupunasan ko din with alcohol and tissue, of course kung na wipe ko na ang kamay nya, tapos naghawak hawak ulit ng shoes nya, ng tables, chairs ng resto, i wipe it again especially if she's eating finger foods. Abah minasama ng byenan  ;D
Btw mga sis, which is a better disinfectant? especially after using the CR? (Washing child's poop, etc that involves handling poops) Mag wash with water and soap lang? I always follow up with an alcohol kase. Di ba depende din kase sa soap na ginamit? We use ethyl alcohol at home.
Btw it is okay naman the cleanliness theory or hygiene hpothesis posted by sis DV, pero ang katwiran ko lang, if I have the means to be clean, or can exert an extra effort to be clean, then why not? I am very wary lang of anything that involves mga feces or those na nakukuha outside the house like, phlegm, dura, laway ng mga taong kung saan saan dumudura, animal feces in the streets. Ex. Sino ba namang parent gusto mong yung katulong mo naghugas ng poop nya o nag CR sya, di mo man lang i rerequire na mag alcohol sa harapan mo bago magtimpla ng milk?
Mahirap for very young kids to be sick and hospitalized, na experience ko na sa panganay ko, there will come a point naman talaga we cannot anymore control the surroundings especially when the child goes to school, but at least they are much older na by then, mas developed na ang immune system nila.
More ideas please  :) May isang kumare nga ako, always baon nya whenever they go out a mini thermos with boiling water inside, dip muna nya ang child's spoon n fork (na baon nya), sabi ko why do you have to dip it pa na sterilize na yun at home...she said, basta gusto lang nya para hehe Kaya magkasundo kami!  ;D

Add ko lang mga sis ha..pag nasa labas kami ng house, hindi ko sinusundan ng disinfectant spray family ko! ;D
Sa house lang talaga ako maselan kasi katwiran ko, balance lang..They get dirty outside coz di ko naman control ang sorroundings..kahit sprayan at iwipe ko ang mga kaya kong iwipe na nadidikitan nila at nahahawakan..i cant control EVERYTHING especially AIR..so meron at meron pa ding dumi yan..
Kaya kung kaya ko naman magpakaselan sa house, why not..and as if naman walang dumi kahit papano house kahit super linis ako..Kaya naiinis ako minsan pag sinasabihan ako ng Mom ko and inlaws na MASYADONG MASELAN and that my KIDS WILL GET WEAK kasi super linis.
Well Thankfully hindi naman weak ang kids ko and as i've said..balanced naman ako, hindi naman sila nakaquarantine..   ::)

You must breakdown their tasks and areas of responsibility.  That way, you give credit  where credit is due;  more gets accomplished (less tasks overlooked); and a system evolves coz it is clear to each one who does what and what work is expected.

For an orderly household, per my experIence-  the more it is clear who must do what - the clearer/easier  it is to pin blame on a specific person when something wrong happens or is left undone.   The fear of being singled out for lousy performance  and/or causing damage/loss is the best motivation for performing well.  Lol

Pag nagpapasahan kasi nang gawa or responsibility/blame -- that results in a disorganized staff, IMO.  I no longer expect my staff to evolve into "a team".  Lol, I know I am overstaffed when they quarrel more among themselves.   They have no yearning to be "a team"; hindi nila getz or appreciate that.  For them it's:  Save your own neck; watch your back.  But they do go into limited partnerships coz it's also:  Scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.  Lol

So there, organize them like a hotel staff -  define specific  areas of responsibility and as much as possible, itemize their chores.  Do it clearly, make sure each one fully understands.

Okay, darlings... this is impossible... sorry, i cannot reply to each one anymore.  Pero hindi ako madamot ha!   I do like to share info based on my experiences and observations of how others do it better...  but when i respond to one, it spawns a lot of questions, etc.

Why don't we try it via FB?  I try to simplify my systems and sub-systems, and let us take it from there.   Kanya kanya kasing requirements, napansin ko sa mga subsequent queries.

:D  Okay, let us try it with just 1 area first.

Get back to you, soon.

Some girls have jumped the gun on me, I cannot create a FB account for Acqua .. Aquacharly, charly etc...   basta hindi ako yon ha.  Will get one off the ground soon.  See ya!

^^ yeah, the problem with my manuals is that it is chockful of photos... kasi nga, lol, easier to "show-and-do"      Lalo na when it comes to stored stuff or those not-daily requirements like party set-ups, easier to "show-and-fetch" and/or "monkey-see, monkey-do"  :D

Well, most of us here have security issues, and some parts of  our house have appeared in a magazine or two... hehe,  the first to get back at me will be my MIL -- shucks, hubby's family sure is paranoid about security and anonymity.  lol

My secretary has photocopied parts of my manuals, with post-its covering certain photos... lol, she must have wondered why all the repeats... sobrang taray lang ako kaya hindi maka ask.  hehe

We will see.... I am trying to find a way how I can have my receptionist do the FB posting or whatever, a blog?   Hmmm pero hindi puedeng Aquacharly.  Ma connect nya the days I terrorize them with problems on the marital front.   hehe   The manual sent as e-mail attachments is tedious.. she does not have as much few-minute-breaks as I have.  :D

AVE, darling, isipin ko muna pano ha?

^^^AVE, that is a vice of mine, house magazines.  BUT I realized early enough that the systems they provide just will not work here in the Phils.   Their set-ups vs ours are just sooo different.  1st off-- hindi makalat mga Mr nila doon, nagliligpit and have their share of household chores.  Dito hay naku!  lol

IMO, it is easier to do house management abroad.  Hindi maalikabok for one.  And it is really easier to just do it yourself than dakdak to a  couple of stubborn or clueless helpers.  Mahirap din mag train ha!  But then, you really simplify your life there.. over here, bakit nga ba ang dami nating borloloy?  hahahaha

^Check! Ang hubby ko ay parang pangatlong anak ko..kelangan mo sundan mga kilos nya..Minsan gagawa nga ng chores, kelangan ko pa din "i-tweak"  ;D

I was gonna say before, na for sure mababasa natin sa mga Housekeeping Magazines some of the Tips here..I guess eto naman talaga purpose netong forum..Yung mga nababasa ko nga sa Cosmo, galing din dito yung iba.  ;D
Anyway, swerte nila kay Sis Aquacharly, dapat ata may sarili kang column sa magazine  ;)

^ i was about to say that sariling column. pwede rin sariling thread dito sa GT hehe!

my husband is like that too. he's not the clean as you go type. kapag nagluto yun, kailangan mo sundan. kapag naglinis, iiwanan lahat ng pinanglinis sa kung saan nya mailalapag. kaya kailangan talaga namin ng hh dito sa bahay dahil since nagwowork na ako, hindi ko na sya kayang sundan. and that clothes hamper na sabi ni sis aquacharly, it's never going to work with him. even if you put a clothes hamper around him he takes off his clothes everywhere. i mean like his shirt, kapag nasa sala, hubad iwan sa sofa. kapag nasa bedroom, hubad shirt/short lapag sa floor. kahit anong ligpit mo makikita mo yun. i don't want to put clothes hamper in every room of the house naman. hehe! kahit anong sabi ko sa kanya, kantyaw, pang-aasar - ganun pa rin. so you know, i just let it pass. old ways are hard to break. basta utos na lang ako ng utos sa mga bagay na magaling sya. like magluto. nakakapagod nga lang. pero kung kaya nya ko saluhin sa pagluluto since di ako masyadong marunong/mahilig, then i guess ok na yun for me. ang hirap lang pero ganun talaga e.

Sa wakas at natapos rin ako kakaback-read. Hands down kay sis Aqua, tumbling ako teh! I would love to see a portion of your manual too kaso alam ko youre too busy hahaha pwede ba ipaassess ko na lang yung munting tahanan ko sayo? hehe padala ko sayo pictures ng sala, dining/kitchen area and yung two rooms namin and just give me a run-down? Maliit lang yung bahay namin pero daming anik-anik, di ko alam kung saan ako magsisimula.

I have 3 kids, 6 years old, yung isa turning 3 and the youngest is turning 2, all girls, pero sobrang kukulit kasi magkakasundo, so you can just imagine kung ganu kakalat yung bahay namin.

Im starting na rin to plan out my 2week menu, pero question, pag nireheat mo ba yung frozen meal titimplahin mo ba ulit yun kasi di ba tatabang yun kung frozen?

since we will be moving to our new house very soon, gusto ko rin gumawa ng manual na yan... but I will try to do it my way muna, pag di ko na kinaya saka na lang ako ask kay sis aquacharly ng help.

to start wth my ka-OC-han, gusto ko na pakabitan ng curtain brackets yung mga windows namin (yung naghohold sa curtain rod), pero wala akong makitang magaganda sa ace hardware, sobrang simple ng mga andun... anyone who can suggest saan ako makakabili ng ganun na may konting design? thanks.

sis Aquacharly, I was also one the beneficiaries of your manual advises. Di ko man nakita ang manual mo sis just by reading.
, connecting the dots and read between the lines I was able to do my own manual na rin.

Grabe ang dami ko natutunan here. If I remember it right, I started 2008 reading posts and making my manual. ha ha!
Ngayon 2011 na ayun nag a update pa rin ako ng manual!!! hahahahaha!

If ever you'll have a blog sure ako you'll be visited a lot of times a day.

Good luck and looking forward to you blog or FB page sis!
