We don't have a househelp. Lalo lang ako kakabahan away from the house.

Medyo nakaka-drain nga mag-maintain ng house kapag walang helper lalo pa that I am a working student. Nakakainis pa kay hubby, madaming wires and computer parts naka-kalat.

Nangyari kasi sa kin last week, nagkasakit si Yaya, and ako nagwork ako, buti nalang day shift ako last week, so I imagine myself na wala na rin ako yaya, minsan I do anticipate na di na siya darating, kasi it's possible.

Anyway, more on how to multi-task and not waste anytime para kay baby, from laundry to cleaning the bottles to baby's bath, lahat ako gumawa, kasi si Hubby may work din, at the same time, I also asked help from my siblings, na avaialble to take care of my baby while I'm at work, effective naman, then after work, kunin si baby, then uwi na kami sa bahay. :)

Hirap but then challenging din sa part ko, because I really wanted to experience it too, dahil ayaw ko ako din mahirapan in the future. :)

Ako din, about a month ago, Sunday nun, biglang dumating yung nanay and isinama that very day yung yaya ko, dahil pagaaralin daw ng tyahin nya the next day!  Nakiusap nga ako kahit a week to find a replacement kasi I have work at home and kalikutan pa ng anak ko, almost 2 1/2 yrs old. Di daw pwede kasi dadalin nya agad sa cavite and di daw papayag yung tyahin nya, duh..They promised me before ko ulit sya kinuha na until next year sya sa akin dahil 2nd sem pa daw sya papasok.  Anyways, first day hirap talaga pero as the day goes by nakakaya namin ni hubby.  Good thing hubby goes to work around 10 or 11 am, and work ko naman at home is morning in front of the computer kaya what I do start ako early, around 6:00 am, take a bath then work na while tulog pa si baby.  Hubby wakes up early rin to sometimes do the laundry, wash the dishes, sterilize.. and paggising na si baby sya muna bantay.  Pag time na to feed my son, stop muna ako magwork, feed ko si baby, give vitamins, give him a bath, then lagay ko sa playpen o let him play sa room while I'm working then si hubby ligpit ng things, take a bath then go to work na.  Around 1 pm finish na ko sa work, prepare ko naman si baby to sleep.  Pag sleep na si baby, I go down to eat lunch.  Pag gising na, we go down na, let him play or watch while i do chores like handwashing my son's clothes or sterilize ng bottles if di pa nagawa ni hubby.  Dun namin nakita ni hubby kaya pala although mahirap and nakakapagod like pag weekends din, instead na pahinga, major labahan and cleaning ng house. Matetrain ka talaga to multitask.  Pati paliligo with my kid sa gabi kaya ko pala, haha. Pero now parang ayaw ko na nga rin magkaron muna ng kasambay full time.  We have somebody now who goes here to clean the house and do the laundry 3x a week and okay na muna ako don. Sorry, haba.  Just want to share na kaya pala lalo na if nagtutulungan.

When I started doing the household chores myself, hindi naman pala ganun kahirap. In fact, mas maayos at malinis pa nga ako magtrabaho. :D

^mommies, if you have a 1 year and 7 months old baby. how are you going to handle that? working ka din at the same time.

It's been a month na wala akong maid. Fired two maids after two weeks and the other one  after almost two months living with us. So parang, I want to take a break from hiring one if they will just turn out to be a nightmare. I want to give myself ample time to really find a good one.

How do I survive as a "Cinderella"?

1. I work at home as a freelance writer. So it's never a problem when I don't have a maid or maid has to go out like emergencies. I can take care of the kids.

2. I wake up earlier than my kids - 3 yrs old and 3 months old. This is my mom's main advice and it's true. If you wake up the same time with the kiddos, it's hard to clean the house or cook. At least when they are awake, breakfast is ready and I already had my coffee. Kids want to be taken care of upon waking up right? So I can avoid having a cranking child.

3. Delegate.

-I ask my 3 yr old to "watch" for his baby brother like moving with the rattle when baby cries or pushing the stroller back and forth. My toddler likes it coz, it's like playing and I'm also training him to do some tasks.

- My son is trained to clean his own mess. This way, he also minimizes making "kalat" because he knows, he is the one who has to do the cleaning. He is also trained to return his toys to his big box after playing. I love seeing my son doing things on his own like changing since I don't want my child to be an inutile.

- During weekends, my hubby offers to wash the dishes and even iron our clothes. I find it cute seeing my husband who is a manager for a pharma company doing chores :-). When he is home, he takes a bath with my toddler or goes for a walk my the two kids.

4. Outsource

- if I'm really busy, tired or lazy (lol), I send some of our laundry outside to be washed. Jeans, pants, sheets, etc. The small pieces like my baby's nappies, I can wash them myself.

- my helper for two years who left to become a full time student comes to our house whenever she is free. So she can wash or even cook. Sometimes, she stay overnight to clean, wash and iron the clothes.

- When I'm busy to cook and when hubby is out of town, I just buy food or cook those easy to prepare meals. This way, I don't have to spend to much time cooking.

5. Discourage visitors

Another advice from my mom. This doesn't mean that you have to live like a hermit but I discourage them during my "working hours", hehe. This is during mornings when neighbors just want to make chismis. And we live in a townhomes area, no gates. So I close our windows and doors while I'm cleaning and let my son play upstairs.

It is tiring but if I will be given a maid that does mediocre work plus with personality issues, no thanks. Mornings are really busy but after lunchtime, I'm done with all the house work. I'm pretty used to this since there are really times that I let my maids go home like during Christmas.

^good job sis Val. i am hoping that one day i can let my maid go and do the chores by myself. That's one good thing about working from home. You have your own freedom.
