^Hello Sis! Good for you, you can get by without a helper. Galing! Mostly bad experiences kasi kami with HH when I was still living with my parents. Now that we're about to move into our own place, my husband keeps insisting na kailangan namin kasi hindi ko daw kakayanin, especially since my daughter is only 17 months old (she has a yaya though, yun nga lang, her yaya is scheduled to go home next year for vacation. Sabi niya, balik naman daw siya, but you can never be too sure, you know how they are), kaya he thinks na dapat may yaya and HH talaga. As for me, I think kaya ko naman. The only reason my hubby insists that we should get one is...ayaw niya gumawa ng mga gawaing bahay. Gusto niya kasi parang Don siya eh.  Buti sana kung may budget pa kami. The lot area of our house is actually pretty small, only 55 sq.m, but it goes vertical, 3 floors. Ang nakakapagod ang akyat-baba. But I figured mas nakakapayat yun, hehe. So, what makes me curious is, for those who don't have HH, how do you manage? Time management definitely, but how do you fix everything? Or is that question supposed to be in a different thread? :p

@sis bellapot

Since August of this year, wala na kaming HH. So that is 4 months now. It's really nakakapagod or nakakalosyang talaga. lol! pero at least hindi ako high-blood and I'm sure of my son's safety ( I have a 4 yr old and a 6-month old).

Last month, I finally got a very good labandera than just last week, she comes here twice a week to iron our clothes. So what's left for me are the household chores, cooking and taking care of the kids. A handful right? :)

To survive it's really TIME MANAGEMENT - to finish all the taks and still get some rest. One thing that my mom told me is to wake up ahead of everyone and it is really true.

I wake up at 5am ( sleep in the afternoon to get my daily 7-hr sleep) and prepare breakfast or clean the house. Sometimes to wash the dishes left the other night. lol!

With breakfast, I try na bread, oats or those that doesn't require cooking. If I have the energy, I really cook those Pinoy breakfasts. With cooking since it's just us sometimes with my sons when hubby is on  a business trip, I cook lunch that can last till dinner or breakfast na pwede na ring pang lunch.

Sa cleaning, I only let my 4 yr old play in his room para the rest of the house is orderly. If he does play, I let him clean up his own mess. Good thing, na train na rin siya to do that.

We clean our own mess since we know kami rin ang gagawa. When I do some general cleaning, I let my husband watch over the kids upstairs so I can clean downstairs. And I let them transfer sa sala if it's time for me to clean the rooms.  Maliit din ang unit namin so I can finish it in less than an hour.

So far ,kinakaya namin kasi wala pa talaga kaming makitang helper. Good thing lang talaga, I work from home so I can survive without helpers and can get rid of them easily whenever pasaway na talaga.

^ hubby and i decided that i should resign for work. my daughter will be turning 2 na, we know that this stage would be very critical for us, lalo na at dito sa stage na ito natututo ang mga bata. Naaawa ako sa anak ko everytime na sasabihin ng yaya na, ang bait ng anak mo, nakaupo lang sa sofa, watch tv, then hihingi food pag may gusto. for all i know bored na din ang baby ko. minsan daw baby will walk sa laundry area and titingin lang sa yaya niya then babalik sa sofa then watch again. alam kong mababawasan ang income sa bahay but i don't mind at all since mas importante sakin ang baby ko.

honestly, i don't know how to do HH chores except for cooking. pero napapag aralan naman yan, i don't even know how to wash a basahan or ayokong humawak ng basahan, but since i am now married, i will embrace the things na hindi ko naman ginagawa before. matututunan naman  yan. :)

thats good sis. You can still work at home while tending your child. I also quit my job to be with my son kasi naaawa ako, he is taken care of nga pero alang love from the yaya. Turns out it's the best career move! Not only I spent time with my child, I even earn more now. Try mo sis, with today's technology, earning at home is very possible.

i think i could survive on my own... in a different time zone. but here in manila - i need the help. and between having a driver and having a maid, i'd rather have a driver. don't know how to commute!  ???

Today proved that I WILL DIE without a helper =(  my long time cleaning lady who comes in once a week, nagpaalam na.  yung nakuha naman na replacement, 1 month lang tumagal.  so this is the first time na wala akong cleaning lady.... Around 8 am, I already started cleaning the house.  By lunch time, I'm done with 2/F (sweeping the floors lang and cleaning 2 T/B).  At this point, I mentioned to husband that maybe we should sell the house and move to a studio unit condo.....  After lunch (1 hour break lang), I started with the 1/F - sweeping, mopping, cleaning 1 T/B.  It's past 3PM na, and I still have to wash the plenty of floor rugs and hand towels.  After the rugs, I'm almost dead - my right arm (shoulder blades to fingertips) is already aching.  I can't imagine doing this every weekend....

Abroad, kayang kaya ko on my own without HH and public transpo lang. But sa Pinas,  kelangan ng may  taga-gawa ng household chores ,though in Manila, Mom ko lang naman ang nandun so pinaalis na nya ang maid nya.  Ang kelangan ko talaga in Pinas is driver! Di pa talaga ako maging confident magdrive mapa-Davao man or Manila.

^sis, why not bring your laundry to the laundry shop?  that's what I do.  kahit na with washing machine, I cannot do our laundry myself since I'm working.  and 2 lang kami ni husband.  so I can just imagine kung gaano kadami labahin mo considering you have kids.  for the pressing, pili lang pina-press ko sa laundry since press is so expensive.  strictly office clothes lang.  yung mga shirts and jeans (weekend get up), hindi na pinaplantsa.  we just hang them immediately pagkakuha sa laundry para wag masyado lukot.

Tried it for almost two weeks when we finally moved into our new house. It was really hard. I have a yaya, and she tried naman to help with the cleaning and laundry, but di talaga kaya since her job description is to take care of the baby. I had to do everything else din. My husband was handling the handyman and laundry stuff, while I was the one cleaning our bathroom, washing the dishes, and trying to cook. Even with help it's hard. I don't know how my relatives abroad can do it. It's kind of off topic na, but my yaya kasi is going home for the first time in almost four years. She'll be gone almost a month. I though we wouldn't have any problems with her but heto, gusto pala magutang. She wants to borrow double her salary para daw she can leave money to her family once she comes back to us. Nainis ako ng sobra. Of course, if she has that much money, why will she come back diba? Nabawi na niya ginastos niya sa pamasahe. C**p talaga.

Ang hirap ng walang yaya especially because my husband and I are both working but it's made possibly ok because my mom is with us. Still, we're looking for a yaya cus nahihirapan din mom ko especially at night. My baby is heavy pa so when she carries her, sumasakit talaga arms nya (kame din ganon eh hehe).
