Im going to BDO tomorrow to open an account for my baby. ipon na for his tuition fee next year.

mga sis meron ba kayong list of requirements for opening a kiddie account sa metrobank? hindi ko kasi mahanap sa site nila, im planning to get one for my baby this month. sa BDO kasi they need more IDs from me so nahihirapan ako makakuha. as for BPI, wala naman silang pangbatang account ata, am i right?

Sis with BDo, 2 valid id's lang naman ang kailangan. that's the same with most banks. I think Metrobank requires 2 valid id's also. And you're right about BPI, their jumpstart account is for 12yrs old and above na.

^ah ganon ba? sina tinanong mo sis what if wala ka na nga iba ID? usually they give suggestions like baka pakuhanin ka na lang baranggay clearance..that sort of thing.

or sis, suggestion ko kuha ka na lang postal id. madali lang naman kumuha non. ako yun ang ginamit ko tsaka passport when i opened my acct with BDO.

^ as far as i can recall... yung postal ID yata sis, secondary lang din  confirm mo na lang muna sa bank before mo asikasuhin para hindi sayang ang pagod!

wala din..hehe...yung mga old ID ko kasi nawala kasama nung wallet eh hindi ko na nafollow up sa SSS and others so ngaun i'm left with two IDs na lang...

dun sa mga nag open ng BPI, anyone familiar sa parang promo nila? yung mag open ka ng new account sa BPI family tapos may kasama ng insurance from ayala ata yun?

sa bpi, passport ko at ni baby, birth cert ni baby at marriage cert ko yung dala ko. oh pati pala 1x1 pic ng mo (mother) meron ka. true, wala ng pambatang bpi acct. regular passbook lang ang ino-ooffer nila ngayon at ang liit ng interest. unlike dun sa unang passbook ng panganay ko ang laki ng interest. platinum acct yun.

hindi naman ako makapag open ng ibang acct. sa ibang bank kasi halos lahat ng savings acct naming mag asawa nasa BPI para nga naman yung transfer fund madali kasi may online banking na.

sis sa BDO ata considered as valid ID na ang postal ID. pero sige, ask mo din muna sa branch mo, baka it differs with each branch.

basta saken walang naging problema, wala ng sinabi or tinanong pa or whatever when i gave my passport and postal id to open the jsc account. 

and regarding postal ID, if you're interested in getting one, requirement ang baranggay clearance to be able to get a postal id. not sure pala if it's the same with all post offices but i guess same lang nga. and to get a baranggay clearance, may requirement naman na cedula plus 2 pictures na 2x2. medyo hassle din pero unlike other processes of acquiring other valid id's, relatively easier na to for me. kasi even if wala ka pa cedula, sa baranggay din naman kinukuha yun so parang sabay lang din ng pagkuha ng baranggay clearance. hehe..

and kung malapit na yung post office sa baranggay hall, then dun ka na punta next. ganun lang. ganyan nangyari saken eh. wala din ako cedula & baranggay clearance so get muna ako and then sa baranggay hall din mismo andun yung post office so dumiretso lang ako dun. and may bayad pala ang postal id. dito P300. again, not sure if same with other post offices. hth

ang alam ko po kung san ka nakatira dun ka kukuha kasi you have to present brgy clearance and 2x2 picture...yun po ang alam ko kasi nag ask ako sa marikina kung pwede ako kumuha dun since taga pasig ako, hindi daw pwede....

  i just opened an account for my gab. jr. savers club sa BDO, di na nila ko hinanapan ng ids kasi may account na ko with them, and ginamit ko din yung promo na bigay ng jollibee nung bday nya na may 100 pesos na automatic na credit sa account mo when you open a JSC, parang birthday gift ni jabee.

I also plan to open an account for my 3 yr old. Choosing between BDO and Metrobank. Metrobank seems to offer more freebies/discounts though. Nakita ko sa site ng BDO piling-piling establishments lang ang may discount. And from the feedbacks I've read, medyo pahirapan pa makuha ang discount card.

Yun nga lang, BDO is very much accessible.

Question mga sis, we're relocating to the US soon and I'm wondering where's the best place to open an account, here or in the US? I'm thinking of opening a trust fund for my son when we get to the US.

^Sis, generally, ang alam ko mas mataas ang interest rates sa US.  But with the recent rate cuts, hindi ko lang sure.  You might want to compare rates as well as your ease in transacting (you'll have to consider how you will maintain the account here).

My daughter has a savings account in BDO (ITF) but we opened a Diamond TD for her (ITF also) in Chinabank late last year.  Higher returns yun than ordinary savings and TD.
