Hi everyone,

Anyone working for IBM here? I have friends who are in IT (SAP) and they are sent to clients of different countries (New Zealand, Europe, etc).  I am thinking of transferring here because of the travel perks (isa akong babaeng gala). 

Hope anyone of you can shed light on this one kasi I'm so liking IBM based on friends' feedback

i almost moved because i liked the project that they were planning to assign me to. the environment seemed ok also.

the offer was a bit lower than my current tapos regular tax rate pa. they wanted to make another offer after i declined the first time but i said no more na. they were quite persistent though saying we can keep on negotiating until we both reached common ground but eventually, they realized it was going to take a lot to make me say yes and they respected my decision not to move after all.

but seeing how they "took care" of me during the interview process, i would think they really do take care of their employees well.

Oh well, if they can't beat your current, you're better off in your present company. 

Mine is probably much lower than yours pero i'll check IBM out.  Their travel package seems very promising kasi.  I'm a bit a traveller and having the opportunity to combine work with pleasure (is in assignment in Europe) seems very promising to me.

I already received calls from Deloitte, IBM, Accenture, Headstrong pero I'm not sure where is the best to transfer. 

Client support ba mostly ang IBM?

^ based on my experience...

accenture - ang baba ng offer. ni wala mang half ng current salary ko ang in-offer nila sa akin. even with the competency incentive. then i hear from some of my friends there na sobra silang stressed. they offered me a job 2x. i declined both times and i am glad i did.

ibm - solutions delivery. like i said earlier, mas mababa din ang offer nila kesa sa current salary ko pero mga 10k lang naman ang diff sa gross pero kasi regular tax rate so malaki ang diff sa net. if they treat employees the way they treated me during the interview pa lang, i'd see it as a very good sign. but i know a few people na na-lay off from ibm so that got me worried. but the project they were planning for me was roll-out and it looked promising but i thought it would be better for me in the long term to stay with my current employer.

headstrong - i was with them for a while. i liked my boss, whom i had already worked with previously in another company. they took care of me but for a time, they kept on telling me i skewed their salary structure. i would have stayed but they were sending me to the US for a project and i am one of the few people who prefer to stay here. and i had only just gotten married then tapos aalis ako agad. didn't sit with me too well. others would have grabbed the opportunity but i just didn't think it was for me. wala akong reklamo.

deloitte - no experience with them so i can't comment.

have you tried bayantrade, tsfi, logica, supply chain, kaisa?

Actually, I am already connected with one of the companies that you mentioned.  I am planning to transfer to another company, also in one of the firms above but am still not sure which is better.  I have been receiving calls already from these companies pero i'm not really sure if its still a good idea to work here in Phils or abroad na.  With the perks I am receiving now (current employer) parang, i'm having a hard time letting go of my current job.  I'm just in a lookout for better (or BIGGER) opportunities outside my company.

i'm also working in IBM for almost 2 years. as far as the travelling goes, swetihan sa timing din. i was a fresh grad when i got hired and after a month, i was in the US with the clients.

ask ko lang po. ano po job nio sa IBM? course? fresh grad din ako. I'm currently looking for my first job. May pre-employment exam ako next week sa IBM.

^more like how's the working environment, benefits, perks, travelling  / career opportinities.  Anything that can be shared about the company, not necessarily a specific division of IBM.

^ these are 4 different entities all under the ibm group. they are different companies, not just divisions, so they may have different packages/perks, etc.

To give you little details about the company, working environment is fine. Typical corporate. For the travels, it really depends on the project you're assigned. For the benefits, wala akong masabi. Maganda ang benefits dito sa IBMSD although they say mas maganda ang mga benefits sa IBMP (IBM Philippines) pero okay na dito.
