Chinese Schools (preschool,primary and HS)

^ Oo nga sis kaya nag dadalawang isip talaga ako sa CKSC most of the students mga Chinese na from china talaga which is hindi  marunong english lalo na mag tagalog. Do you have idea kung magkano ang tuition fee sa St. Stephens?
May Merry Angels nga pala malapit lang din dito sa bahay, sila nga ba yung white ang uniform or red?

St Stephin is around 45k to 50k, rough estimate yan kasi ang naririnig ko eh.  Merry Angels ata is red and white?  pinaghalo ko lang ata eh, hahaha...

hello mommies. im from molino bacoor cavite. i want to transfer my son to a chinese school. m looking for nearest one. i'v scouted one hear in alabang named Theresiana Monte Alegre Dame School..."d first chinese school in south" located @ san jose village, Alabang Muntinlupa. Any feed from this school please? Want to know if this is a good school...tnk u.

why chinese school? Para marunong magchinese ang bata? If that's the case, additional advice ko lang, it's not enough. Even if you enroll your child in the "best" chinese school, pero wala siyang interest sa Chinese or "si tak" (yun tipong memorize lang ng memorize ng chinese words without knowing its meaning), useless lang pera mo.

practical conversational chinese can be taught at home, unless no one in the family can speak Chinese.

Basta make sure na even outside school, converse with your child using Mandarin, even during short conversations, para at least matuto and masanay sila. Kasi sayang naman if whole education life niya, nasa chinese school siya paying a high tuition fee, tapos wala sila natuto.

bukod dyan sis isa pa sa mga reason na nasabi ng chinese friends ko..because of Business and Contacts

^ yeah right! My husband and pure chinese and im pure filipina.. I asked him divkubg bakit kailangan sa chinese school papasukin ang daughter namin madami naman na magagandang school. Simple lang ang sagot nya sa akin.. Quality of education! Tama ka na madaling mag aral ng fookien or mandarin kahit tutor lang matututo sila but iba ang aral sa school na ang magteach ay alam mona mas malaki ang kaalaman sa salitang chinese.
Ahead din ang study or lesson sa mga chinese school, hindi sa bibuild up ko pero halos lahat ng friends ng asawa ko business man na at may sarisariling kumpanya nya ang iba nag wowork sa reputable at kilalang mga company. As a mother i want my child to be one if them.
Hindi kami manghihinayang na gumastos sa $$$ sa pag aaral ng anak namin kung alam namin para sa kanilang kinabukasan yon.

^ same tayo my hubby is half chinese and im a filipina..he wants also na sa chinese school mag aral si baby simply because ang english is, there is no problem in proper pronounciation unike sa chinese, magkamali ka lang ng bigkas iba na agad ang meaning..kahit ako until now di ko pa din ma perfect ang right pronounciation ng chinese words

For me, and this is just my view ha, I would want my children to study Chinese especially if they have Chinese blood, purely because of their heritage/culture.  I mean beyond learning the language, since sabi nga ng iba hindi practical and all that, importante for me yung maappreciate din nila kung saan sila nanggaling.  Kasi sa school naman di lang naman yung language yung pinagaaralan, may iba pa namang subjects.  Kasi may mga pure Chinese din that don't let their kids study in Chinese school anymore.  Their reason is di na daw importante or practical.  Based on my observation, these are the Chinese na matatawag nating modernized or westernized na so not interested in their Chinese heritage na rin.  Sad fact but I guess it's just the sign of the times.

The Chinese language in itself is not the easiest to learn, especially Mandarin lalo na if writing it pa.  Mostly you'd need memorization kaya talagang kelangan ng patience and undestanding for it.  And agree din in some ways with one of the post that says you will also need to practice it outside of school or else mawawala din yun.  Kasi nga naman hindi Chinese/Mandarin ang main language natin in our everyday life, so mahihirapan lang ang mga bata.

^ correct sis, it also aplies in fookien not only in mandarin..it seems that your a true blue chinese coz u know very well, u dont based on what u read or hearsay lang dito sa bahay fookien ang salita ng mga inlaws ko and yung si shobe lang kinakausap ng mandarin para mahasa coz nag aaral pa kase siya ng high school..
