so far,maganda ang nursery sa hope christian high school...imagine,3 yrs old lang son ko marunong na magsulat ng chinese na 1 to 10 ... kakatuwa ... they also have basketball practice for kids ages 3 to 6 free ... daming improvements ng son ko simula pumasok....by the way,first time schooling cya   =)

My children now are studying at Pace Academy. So far satisfied ako sa turo nila. I have already tried Grace Christian. I really dont want their chinese curriculum sobrang memorization. Dont want to waste my children's time in the afternoon without learning anything. My child was a consistent honor student in Grace, she would end up in the top 3 overall in their class in Grace. Pero pagdating sa Pace nasa number 5 and 6 na lang sya. Mas rigid ang training sa Pace. My nieces and nephewsw who are still in Grace are haing a hard time with english composition kulang talaga sila sa training. Not to mention that they are around 35-40 students in a class.

really? nice to hear that. my son's at pace but thinking nga of transferring him to grace because it's a more established school. pero honestly ok naman din ako sa pace eh. alumni ako ng grace. yes memorization nga ang chinese doon. pero di ko rin maintindihan ang chinese lessons sa pace kasi shortcut ang sulat and the teachers are from china di ko sila makausap hehe. haay nalilito tuloy ako kung lilipat ko pa o hindi....

regarding mss, and program nila is like this:

toddler class
cocoon: nursery level (4yo)
butterfly: k1 level (5yo)

pero ang age range nila medyo magulo. kasi nung butterfly yung anak ko (he was 5 years old), may classmate siya na 4 years old palang. so some of their students start at toddler ng 2yo, tapos butterfly at 4yo. gulo diba. ang rinig ko sa ibang mommies na ang program nila talaga is for 2-4 years. pero yun nga paminsan or probably most students nila nagstart at 3yo.

nung nag apply ako sa grace for k2, medyo strict yung chinese supervisor sa chinese exam (pangit daw ang sulat ng anak ko hehe). so k1 nalang daw ulit ang anak ko. sa jubilee naman k1 din nagfall ang birthday ng anak ko, ayoko naman na umulit sya ng k1 so we ended up at pace academy for k2.

sa ateneo naman, ang admission nila is for prep which is for incoming 6 yo.

5mos pa lang baby ko pero scouting na ako for a good school. hindi na kasi pwede un 7yr old ko sa chinese school kasi gusto ng ibang schools nag study rin sa ibang chinese school.

we live here in katipunan. ano kaya marecommend nyo? gusto ko aside from academics ok din un socialization activities ng bata. wag naman un nasa manila area ha.

I will enroll my son sa Nursery next school year at Grace since we are near the school.  I also checked out Pace Academy before I decided at Grace. Maraming good feedback sa Pace.   Please tell me the advantages and disadvantages you experienced based on your child's performance. 

My cousin's children also study at Grace, elementary na.  They are all good English speakers.  Puro honor students din.

I, myself, came from Grace.  Memorization nga chinese dito. I do not know how to speak Mandarin. What I planned to do na lang is pa-summer class ko na lang anak ko ng Mandarin conversation.  Advantage ko kasi, di ko na problem ang transpo since walking distance lang.

to sis tulip and sis em cee.. I think it really depends sa kids how he or she will conform to the school Ok naman Grace when it comes to their english curriculum mas structured sila compared to Pace. Kc in Grace, mas konti yun scope ng test nila. Their Seatwork is just 15 items while their Long Quiz is only 20 items. Yun Pace naman ang dami ng topics papaaralin sa yo and you wouldnt have any clue kung pano yun test parang college style. (thats for elementary). last time I heard Grace is slowly adapting the simplified form of chinese too. mabilis nag kahonor sa grace kc they have a diff grading sysytem. Once you reach a certain pt, honor ka na. kaya sometimes halos half of the class me honor. I was also surprised to learn that most of their graduates had a hard time passing the top 3 universities in college (UP La Salle and Ateneo) sobra baba ang passing rate nya. Btw, I am also an alumni of Grace. and yes wala ako natutunan sa Chinese kht nakagraduate ako ng chinese. I wouldnt want my child to end up like me. this is just my opinion.

you should also consider the religion behind the schools, which is also a factor on his development with you.

i studied in st jude, did okay (not good in chinese lessons though) but despite that, college was a breeze with me because i have been trained for years; i can also read, write and speak mandarin which gave me opportunities to work in hk and china and wouldn't get lost traveling (bagsak pa yan sa chinese subjects ah!).

i am proud to have studied there kasi religion (catholic) has been centered in us in all our lives.

hello!

i ended up reserving at grace. sad to leave pace though. my son will be grade 1 this june. medyo na pressure din kasi ako ng friend ko na ililipat din ang anak from pace to grace. so im kinda nervous baka mahirapan nanaman magadjust ang kid ko.

sa turo siguro pareho lang naman ang grace at pace (di nagkakalayo)except chinese. naisip ko lang, ang pace kasi building may 2 stairways 1 elevator no fire exit so parang what if may fire or earthquake pano ang mga bata? stampede yun. di sila prepared sa part na yun. (i think)

sis gabrielle you are right about the grading system, nagulat ako ang daming may honor na nakapost sa bulletin board. which is kinda weird diba.

sis 2 na lang school pingapipilian ko for my 2.3 year old baby ..MSS and apples and orange both in D tuazon.... mas mahal lang ng konti ang MSS 82,000 while sa apples and orang nasa 70, thou plus.....

same lang kaya ang quality nila? kasi kung ganun e di sa apples and orange na lang?. pls sis anyone here who can make the difference between the 2 school as for opinion lang naman...

sis apreal, ok daw ata sa mhcs. too far lang from our home.

sis darna88, when my son went to mss tuition was only 75k. bilis ng panahon. i cannot compare nga lang with apples and oranges. basta  sa mss maraming culminating activities, program nila is at philam theater every end of school year. ok mga teachers. pero aside from the tuition may iba pang expenses, like bring this or that, buy costume etc kaya parang sobrang gastos. that's just me ha.

^ thanks sis... enrolled na son ko sa MHCS ok naman feedback ng mga napag tanungan ko and we liked its location kasi hindi masyado matao/ma traffic and malapit pa sya samin.

my 4 y/o cousin is enrolled in makati hope christian school. super okay sya kasi before the enrolled him mahina sya sa oral language skills after enrolling in prenursery pa lang an glaki ng improvement.

yung anak ko na 2.9 y/o i also wanted to enroll here sana pero mukang hindi na kami aabot kasi nov pa lang daw enrolment na. now im looking at MGC-new Life in The Fort. From the looks of it mukang ka-level if not more expensive sya sa Makati Hope.

anyone here who has an idea of tuition in MGC? For prenursery and nursery levels?

Also ok lang ba to start enrolling my child in a big chinese school pag 4 y/o na sya? kasi hindi kami umabot sa enrollment, so malamang sa skul kung saan sya nag summer school papasok..

@fibia - my niece & nephew are enrolled in MGC, they are very smart & articulate in english. I heard from my uncle baka idisband daw yung school & puro rich kids daw yung student.

   Can you suggest any good chinese international schools in Makati/Fort/Manila area?I've heard of Chinese International School Manila (CISM) but don't have any feedbacks yet. I'm looking to enroll my toddler in prep this coming school year. I was hoping to enroll her in prep school that teaches chinese, if possible. Thanks to anyone who can help.
