Chinese Schools (preschool,primary and HS)

   Any feedback po sa PHILIADELPHIA HIGH SCHOOL in Talayan Village QC?  naka 50%off ang tution fee if you pay in cash sa preschool nila, natawa nga ako kay hubby sabi niya pati ba naman sa tuition fee naghahanap ako ng sale... LOL...

Isa daw sa owner yung wife ni Kim atienza sa CHINESE INTL.SCHOOL nag inquire ako dun mga sis last year sobrang mahal for new students I cant remember if 300k or 365k a year so sa MERRY ANGELS SCHOOL na lang sa Binondo namin pinasok Syoti namin puro nga sila donations and magastos talaga pero for us ok naman yung turo kaya dun ulit namin enroll syoti. nung pinasok kasi namin sya dun 2yrs and 6mos sya di sya nagsasalita few months pa lang sya pumapasok ang dami na natutunan and marunong na sya fookien/mandarin sa house kasi namin cantonese,english and tagalog salita.

thanks... do you happen to know ang terms of pymt nila for the school yr? do they have something na monthly basis? sorry I cant inquire thru their ofc I'm out of the country kc, I just want to know as early as now to prepare for next sch yr..Your replies will be appreciated..

am planning din for both my babies to study in st jude catholic school since that's my alma mater.

About St. Jude...

my alma mater, i can say the school has improved. i graduated 2004 and came back as an intern at the Guidance Office. My fellow couselor toured me around the school, facilities have greatly improved. They have a couple of dance studios, the old 5/F mess hall is now used for THE (cooking classes) ratio of equipment is 1 is to 1 group, not like before, take turns when using the oven. New badminton court, new science center, new library ( very cute).

Yellow School buses are still there, RHGP classes limited na to 1x a week mga 30mins. Then they have "ORG Time" for the students. and no more homework pag saturday para they can have family time on sunday. And i think they are / they were accepting tranferees until grade something...not sure. You can inquire. I also heard na hindi na ganun kahirap. Like un mga early 2000 na batched na 2 sections na lang nagggraduate...matira matibay, now mga 5 sections...so i guess mas madali na un Chinese.

My tuition back then, almost 48k per sem.

my eldest went to MSS (Mind Specialist School) from nursery to kinder 1.  ok naman kasi super mababait ang teachers and they have alot of activities and programs.  pero feeling ko dapat pinasok ko na siya kagad sa big school kasi ang hirap ng adjustment from play school to big school. and ang hirap mag apply as kinder 2.

for kinder 2, we applied sa Jubilee pero yung age range niya we were advised na back to kinder 1 daw sya. we applied sa Grace Christian pero napakastrict sa chinese exams so we enrolled him at Pace Academy. ok din naman dun dahil low student teacher ratio.  and alot of gracians are transferring to Pace (i don't know why).

st. Stephen's din ako...till high school. Me and hubby nagusap kung sa chinese din mga kids namin. Sinabi ko ok lang ba sa yo na from 7am to 4pm asa school sila.since ganun schedule ng chinese school..naku wag na daw..if iisipin ko ganun buhay namin sa school..after school may tutor pa kami sa chinese since di naman kami magaling sa chinese.

Pero nakikita ko sa ongpin yun mga batang naka red..YMCA ata yun...baka doon ko muna si eldest mag prep..any feedbacks?

^Mary something. i forgot the name. my nephew was enrolled there before he transferred to Jubilee. He's 7 now.

as for Jubilee kawawa daw yung bata kase puro aral on weekdays. school, tutor. tapos very strict sila with the grades i think.

advantage pag sa Manila area ka, specifically sa Binondo area is pag kelangan mo ng mga chinese/math tutors, ang dami ng nakakalat ng tutors there. so after school, direcho na yung kid mo. ganun kase gawain ko dati hehe.

^^ Merry Angels Sis, dun nag aaral son ko, pinasok namin sya dun 2.5yrs old Junior sya, Senior na sya ngayon he's turning 4 na next month. Para sa min ok naman dun malaki improvement ng son ko,yun nga lang grabe sa donations pero its still up to you kung magbibigay ka, magastos talaga sa kanila pero for us worth it naman.Graduation nila is lagi sa Manila Hotel. Madaming binebanta sa school,lagi silang may pictures.

school hours usually 2 and half hours pero yung Son ko naka enrolled sa Montessori program nila whole day 8am-4pm dun na sya nag la lunch and natutulog sa tanghali. My son knows how to speak cantonese,fookien,mandarin,tagalog and english,pero ang tinuturo lang nila sa school fookien,mandarin and english. Cantonese lang kami sa house and tagalog kaya marunong sya.

Tuition fee for half day is 38,288 per Sem.
For Montessori  its 60,288 per Sem and may binabayaran pa kami 19,500 whole year plus Food nila 95 a day.

Meron din silang scholarship program di ko lang alam pano..half yata yung tuition na lang Im not sure.

Sabi nila puro donations daw dito eh, kaya decided na huwag pag-aralin dito mga anak ko, pag hindi ka daw nagbigay hindi daw masyadong matutukan ang anak mo, pag lagi kang nagbibigay siyempre mamahalin din ang anak mo ng Teachers.  Pero the good thing is na discipline nila ang bata, I don't know how they do it, close door kasi sila eh.

grabe ang mahal pala doon...feeling ko di rin magiging effective ang pagaaral ng chinese kung sa house di naman makakausap o maprapractice.  In our case... dad ko chinese pero di niya kami kinakausap ng chinese..bihira.  Nakakaintindi kami pero yun salita...parang may punto daw hehe...ang mahal pala diyan sa Merry angels pero let's see next year pa naman mahaba pa time to think.

^^ In our case naman Sis never kaming nagbigay ng donations sa kanila pero ok naman treatment nila samin specially sa son ko,marami din namang di nagbibigay ng donations,yung iba na sobra sobra talaga siguro yung money lang ang nagbibigay.
True na well disciplined mga bata dun tsaka bumilib lang kami ni Hubby sa kanila kasi yung son ko na sobrang mahiyain napasayaw nila sa Aliw Theater and Manila Hotel.

Yung way nila sa pag disiplina,sinusuhulan nila yung mga bata ng stars,candy and toys,or pag may nagawa mali yung kids mo isusumbong nila sayo sa uwian,I rem yung son ko nag tantrums inawat ng teacher sinipa nya yung teacher ang ginawa ng teacher tinanggalan sya ng shoes.
