Chinese Schools (preschool,primary and HS)

^^^Regarding Hope Christian, meron na silang parang montessori type, up to kindergarden ata or grade 2, after that traditional type na din.

Grace Christian naman super fast paced yung lesson, then turn off yung ibang teacher hindi marunong mag english, I mean mali mali yung grammar, shocks naging teacher pa sila.

oh dear ganun na pala sa grace, nung panahon daw ng granny ko ha, 2 lang sila na grad ng AB English, then nag educ kasi granny ko for Math

May Hope ba within QC? saan sya sa Makati area? and how much tuition TIA

Classmates ko dati sa college, mga graduate ng Chiang Kai at St. Stephens. Gagaling nila, lalo na sa math.

I'm an alumna of Hope Christian High School =)

way back during our years, sabi nila, we have very good english classes but weaker (than CKSC) when it comes to chinese classes

right now, I believe they have a different teaching system na compared to our times, iba na kasi principal

what i like about our school,
- It's a christian school, that's why we are nurtured with christian values early on.. (kaya mas mababait daw mga students dito)

- Students came from all walks of life, so in a way, mas friendly ang mga students, (walang payabangan ng mga branded things and walang na-cu-culture shock pag dating ng college, those students who are well-off and those who are not e nagkakasundo...)

- Low tuition fees (compare to nearby schools) but quality education

- No graft and corrpution from the the school board and the faculties (pag may nahuling teacher na tumatangap ng lagay, talsik agad... super bilis nila mag investigate... hindi umaabot ng next school year ang teacher...)


What i don't like about our school 

- Graduates from our school tends to be shy and passive, lack of confidence, ayaw mag participate sa mga recitations unless tinawag ng teacher... ..

- Lack of extra curricular activities... walang kwenta ang PE at music sa amin, but this is maybe due to too much subjects we have to take, basically we only have half of the day for our english classes then the other half for our chinese classes... e dba sa mga filipino schools almost whole day ang mga english classes

but as i have said, i think they have a different teaching system now,

-i believe the chinese classes were incorporated already to the english class thus, chinese class where treated as one of the subjects nalang... ( i stand corrected though).

- mas naka focus daw sila ngayon sa mga extra curricular activities, hindi yung puro books and theorys


feedbacks i heard naman from other schools,

CKSC- polluted na ng mga chinese students from mainland china,

PAOS- has the best math subject amongst all schools in binondo
         (dito kami nag ma-math class during summer vacations)

Uno - super strict (may camera ba naman sa every classroom) 

St. Jude - Mahirap nga daw ang mga subjects, but a lot of the students napipilitan tuloy mag cheatingan dahil sa hirap (accrdg. to my cousin na st. jude alumna)

ICA- students are very confident, and well-rounded, yun nga lang very brand conscious daw mga students dito...

St. Stephen - nung time namin, sabi nila medyo hinde daw ok dito (no offense meant), puro memorizations lang daw pero hindi nai-intindihan ( my chinese tutor ayaw ng mga students from SSHS)... but now, super improve na daw ang SSHS.. better than HCHS pa nga daw

for preschool i recommend early achievers sa sgt rivera... okay ang teaching.. dami na alam ng kid ko  .... about the tuition.....we paid 60k+ for the whole year.. included na lahat ng needed sa school except for the uniform.

yup sis... they teach english and mandarin class upto kinder 2  yung son ko 11 sila sa class... 3 teachers... so far am impressed sa teaching style nila magaling na magmandarin son ko, mas magaling pa sa dad niya hehe. ako din natututo mag chinese kahit hindi ako marunong dati.

wow at talagang Mandarin ha hindi fookien? anung age start ng preschool nila..do they have playschool as well? 60k is not bad..and this is in QC lang,scout area pa

I graduated from St. Jude. All I can share is sa panahon namin, magaling talaga ang Chinese. The Chinese teachers are hired from Taiwan or China. Chinese subjects focus on the most basic pronunciation, traditional Chinese writing, geography, history, and social studies.

Yes, yes mahirap nga ang St. Jude but now when I look back, I am quite thankful for my parents for sending us there. I can speak Mandarin fluently to the point that now I'm in Taiwan people think I'm a local.  Chinese is a difficult language to learn, so it's better to start early. Even the Taiwanese themselves have to study Chinese continuously kasi sobrang daming Chinese characters.

Honestly , kulang talaga sa social activities ang St. Jude. Siguro it's upto you the parents to balance them out. Try to enroll them in other extra-curricular activities , and don't give the kids too much pressure. Siguro having average grades in St. Jude is ok na, para naman well-rounded ang kids. Eventually the real results will come out in the kids' university years, kasi almost everyone I know di naman nahirapan sa college. Judenites are almost always enrolled in the top three schools(universities). 

I almost forgot to add. The St. Jude system is different from other schools. Once ka lang pwedeng pumasok or be admitted, and that's in pre-school. Once you leave, you can't go back to the school anymore. That's why pa konti kami ng pa konti. Matira ang matibay hanggang high school.

^Walang pasok ang St. Jude ng thursday, Saturday ang meron...Then talk to the admission office, mas madami daw chinese na nag aaral dun? question ulit? Upper class lang ba yung mga nag aaral sa St. Jude?

^^Walang pasok on Thursdays pag prep and elementary. Once you start high school, ang Thursdays ay for CAT training. Siguro 1% lang ang non-chinese? Anyway, I'm basing that on our 4th year high school class, kasi 150 nalang kami nun eh.


^I don't think St. Jude is just for the upper class, marami din akong classmates na anak nga mga teachers. Saturday ang pasok instead of Thursdays, kasi maraming pumpunta sa St. Jude church on Thursdays. So to avoid heavy traffic, sa Saturday ang pasok namin.

i heard yun mga nonchinese anak lang ng teachers? is that true? im highly considering chinese schools.. kaso i want pa rin catholic religion..

i used to think pinakamahirap na ang uno... pero yup my chinese friends.. from different schools.. sabi st. jude pa rin daw pinakamahirap..

I think some of the non-Chinese are anak ng teachers, some aren't. I remember I have a Pinoy classmate na nag graduate rin from St. Jude, their house was in the vicinity lang kasi. So dun siya sa St. Jude nag-aral.

Well, St. Jude is a Catholic school.

Sa totoo lang sis, I can understand that most of you are afraid for your kids na mahirapan sa studies. Ako rin I really feel for my youngest brother now, he's studying in St. Jude rin. Pero you'll really see the results talaga when your kids grow up. So don't be afraid for your kids na mahirapan, kasi part naman talaga ng buhay ang mag learn diba? Wag niyo siguro bigyan ng pressure na maging honor student or maging top 5 or top 10. All in due time.

My kids study at St. Gabriel International School (SGIS) in Pasig City.... the teachers are fine and very good. So far, so good... I'm happy cuz my kids are learning Mandarin well and they get to interact with kids of other nationalities like Taiwanese, Koreans, Japanese, Caucasians etc. SGIS' mother school is in Xiamen, i think it's called, Manila-Xiamen University. Medyo affordable ang tuition-- 40K.
