Anybody knows a reliable forwarder from the UK to Manila? And hindi a talaga niche check young contents ng box? I plan to send some designer items to Manila and saying naman if I will get taxed

^I'm happy with Star Kargo (ABS-CBN company). Sila lagi kong gamit from CA to MNL. Recently I had BB boxes last June/July and I received them in July/August, sakto one month lang. They have tracking sa website nila.

wala atang SK agent near our place... im glad happy ka service nila. nakaka stress din kasi pag "missing" yung box mo. tipong di mo alam nasaan na. kaya mas ok talaga yung may tracking.

i've been using atlas shippers and ok naman sila. they get affected by the port congestion in manila but at least intact yung mga boxes ko. hehe

happy rin ako with my agent kasi isang tawag lang nandyan na and i dont need to wait the entire day for pickups. (when i asked LBC kasi dati they cant even give me a window, so buong araw kang mag aantay sa kanila. nyek.)

^Atlas din gamit ng parents ko when they sent BB boxes from Sacramento. Okay din yung service nila.
Yung Star Kargo kasi matagal ng suki ng brother ko in San Jose. Mabilis pang mag-pick up si Manong Star Kargo, marami na rin kasi silang competition sa Bay area kaya kailangan maganda service nila.

I'm planning to order books from Amazon and AbeBooks (for the out-of-stock ones). Which courier would be best for shipping books? Cause AbeBooks (standard shipping within US takes 4-14 days and I would need them to consolidate all my orders before shipping out.

^ if you use google,  pinoy kargo plus ang lumalabas... just do your homework. sana ok nga sila kasi their website is professionally done. may cost estimator pa.

edit: oh no! may issue pala sa kanila.

We have an agent here in our state that will do LBC balikbayan boxes but recently we still have 2 boxes here in our house that we haven't sent because we were afraid the family back in PH won't receive it. Kasi last time we send some balikbayan boxes one of them they almost didn't receive. But my mama wants to risk it again and send it. Am just afraid.... Especially with all the reports before about the balikbayan boxes being opened & the recipient needs to pay taxes on the goods they will receive. I'm not too updated with this bec I don't watch TFC like my mama do.

Any advice?

Hello. This is for any non-OFW who has brought a balikbayan box from a trip abroad this year (in light of the new Customs law and rules, although sa pagkakaalam ko wala pang IRR), or anyone who legit knows about the rules We are planning to bring a balikbayan box back from LA - we are not OFWs and we'd only be out for a month, so it would be considered as "shopping box" ng Customs. Sabi kase anything worth more than $100 is subject to tax na, and you know naman gaano na lang kaliit ang $100 ngayon. Sa bagong law kase (signed in May 2016) minimum of Php150,000 for travelers depending on the length of stay, but because NAIA Customs, di ko sure anong mood nila sa araw na yun.

My question is, strict ba ang Customs sa pag inspect and pag collect ng fees/taxes for this kind of box? Wala naman kaming masyadong balak dalhin - most likely damit, sapatos and food/chocolates lang - the standard pasalubong. We only have one luggage each, and we're reserving the other bag allowance for pasalubong but nag-aalangan kami baka iinspect and kelangan namin magbayad ng fees because it is a box. So we'll just buy siguro another luggage na lang para paglagyan ng mga mabibili. Or if the same lang naman sila na iinspect and iccheck and iffine, oh well
