Hi - meron na ba dito naka-experience na ma-tax-an ang balikbayan box?

I've lived here in the US for 3 years and now I'm going back to PH for good.  I have accumulated a looooot of stuffs.  Hindi kaya ma-question sa customs yung mga balikbayan box ko na puno ng shoes and bags and clothes?  Any tips or advice, mga sis?

may idea po kayo how much price range padala ng items MNL-US? kasi naman lahat ng nasa list ng friend ko not available All for Love concert ni Sarah Geronimo...mga albums lang nabili ko saka Ninoy Aquino shirt... safe ba sa post office... kasi ang mangyayari kung FedEx or LBC mas mahal pa yung shipping sa worth ng items.

Never but I suggest that you send it thru the regular balikbayan courier (freight forwarder) para sure na walang tax. Kase minsan yung mga pinoy customs dito sa airport natin ang makapal ang mukha!!! Especially ngayon xmas season!

thru post office nalang. meron din sila boxes dun. they will weigh it naman eh. at least not as expensive as lbc or fedex. safe naman sis, don't worry. hindi pa kami nawalan. nakakarating naman lagi minsan delayed nga lang. pero don't pack it yet as in gusto nila icheck talaga lahat ng laman ng box, pinapabuksan talaga. or since busy ngayon, ipack mo na ng todo para tamarin buksan. Just declare it as personal effects or used items para hindi pag interesan.

Please google Philippine Postal Office, nandun lahat ng rates. Pero better to go directly pa din sa post office talaga. I recommend the post office in makati kase maayos ang post office dun hindi magulo.

^yup ok lang yan. I think may balikbayan box nga din LBC. Basta lagay mo lang PERSONAL EFFECTS para di na nila pakialaman. Mas mahigpit kase ata sila compared to other freight forwarders na pang BB talaga.

^ hey thanks sis frenzied! i will take your advise at bukas na bukas din eh pupunta ako sa post office..he he...you think sending some orig documents through the post office is also safe? for sure kasi malaki din difference nila sa mga lbc et al...if ever kasi im thinking of sending my important orig. docs sa post office ng registered special mail, what do you think?

^ you know what I sent christmas cards to the US last week thru the post office and I asked for registered mail, wala daw sila nun. Weird!!!

Generally safe naman to send items thru post office pero if it will make you feel more secured asked for registered or priority mail (door to door). You can also indicate there if you want the addressee to personally receive the mail.

Guys - nakarating na yung christmas cards I sent to US via post office lang. It took them more than 10 days. Not bad. Pero medyo gutay gutay na daw yung envelope. hahahaha

Has anyone here tried myusmailbox or myshoppingbox? I constantly buy stuff from the US and most of the time I use First Class Mail at around a month or so bago dumating items ko dito. Masyadong matagal. Priority mail is too expensive for me and also EMS. Kaninong service ang mas ok? myusmailbox or myshoppingbox? TIA.

Actually, I don't need a balikbayan box as my items are small lang naman. I'm looking for a reliable, fast, cheap forwarder that can forward my stuff here in the PH. Kunyari, if I order online a pair of shoes, I'll have it shipped to the forwarder's hub then they'll ship the shoes to me at once. I'm looking for a forwarder that ships the items fast (max of 10 days). I'm also considering a small box wherein I'll have the items consolidated at the forwarder's hub, then ship it to me.

pwede po mag ask if ano hotline number ng XXX(exklusibong explosibong expose) or imbestigador(kahit email address lang nila)? hingi po sana kami ng tulong about sa package naman na inexpect nung december 2008 pa dapat(from angel freight hawaii).
pero in-abandon na po kasi ng angel freight yung packages namen sa award cargo(hindi pa daw kasi sila binabayaran ng angel freight). hope you could help us po.
nag file na rin ng bankruptcy yung angel freight sa hawaii, kaya medyo malaking problem ito. may habol pa kaya kami sa balikbayan box? tinry na kontakin ng relatives namen sa hawaii yung freight company pero close na e. we discovered din na walang office ata dito sa philippines yung angel freight. though andito na daw yung container van sa pilipinas(nasa award cargo) pero hindi pa nila ma-release kasi nga di pa binayaran ng angel freight.

pag nag reklamo kaya kami sa customs ma-aaksyunan kaagad? o mas matagal?
i-fo-forward daw kasi ng award cargo sa customs(di nga lang namen alam kung kelan i-forward). eh diba within 30 days lang ata ang palugit ng customs para makuha namen? lagot na talaga, di namen alam kung sino ko-kontakin, pinagpapasa pasahan na kame. haaaaaaay.
baka may kakilala kayo diyan mga sis sa customs? tia.

we never thought na magkaka problem kami sa Angel Freight, 2 years na din kasi nila kami client and lagi naman nakakarating yung balikbayan box. ngayon lang pumalpak ang service nila, hay.. kaya mga sis ingat na lang sa mga courier, dapat yung reliable talaga. problema pa tuloy namen kung papano kukunin sa customs.
