Hi guys. Im leaving with my preschooler son next month. Can anyone share what should I expect? Im excited yet anxious on what will happen to us. Mu hubby is there already for a year now.

Any inputs is deepy appreciated.

bring your kid's immunization record since its a requirement when you register your kid to school.  when you arrive, register your kid in the school that covers the district/area where you live. and check if he will be covered by bus service.

study the neighborhood and transport system in your place so you dont have to depend on your husband to get around. better yet, get a drivers licence.

thanks sis rics. kailangan ba may drs. signature or just the record itself (based sa experience mo)? im not sure kung natago ko pa yung pinasa namin sa embassy dati. as for the transpo, our place is close (as in walking distance) to almost all the places that we need to go to. sa sch its 11 mins walking distance. kaya mahal siguro yung apartment [textspeak!]. and wala pakami pambili car hehe.

san ka sa canada sis? im wondering also about dental issues ng anak ko. may tooth decay kasi, are they checking on that too?

better get a certified copy for vaccination record para walang problema when you arrive, just ask your doctor on how to go about this. maybe a letter head paper with dates, vaccines taken, etc then signatured by the doctor.

you might not be covered by school bus service kung malapit lang house nyo sa school. so hatid sundo ang bata. but its good you are close to amenities. it will be quite difficult to go around during the winter if you are far from public transpo.

some schools have dental check-ups yearly, and would make a recommendation if something needs to be fixed regarding your kid's dental health. it would be best if you have the cavities fixed there before you come here since even if you are covered, there might be some expenses that are not, and it will an additional payment. mind you it is not cheap too.

Thanks again with the infos. How about the previous education? My son took kumon for 6 mos and nursery for a year (his turning 4 this month). Do I need to secure records from them? Ang mahal nga ng dental services ng anak ko. Pinagawan ko sya ng metal teeth (4 front teeths) it cost us 16k na. Hindi pa pediatric dentist yan. Hayy... may tatlo na naman sya tooth decays. My fault too I guess.

Also, im thiking if should I bring my kitchen utensils (love baking). Or kahit dyan nalang bumili hehe. Im freaking out na magdala ng kaldero and some comforters. Waahh!!!

hi mga sis.. meron po b ditong nagaapply or nag babalak mag pass ng Manitoba Nominee Program? Ask ko lang kung may balita p po b kayo n ok p b ang processing ngayon? or medyo super higpit n nila? Yung Settlement Plan nag papasa rin po b kayo nito? TIA

Eto ang Plano Ko this year.. Mag apply and mag Ayos ng requirements.. Sana naman Mga 12 months to 15 mOnths ang waiting or processing time..

^maybe you can have that certified by a family physician para lang sigurado. medyo mahigpit ang schools when it comes to student's vaccination. dapat up to date and complete. if the school finds out that there are some discrepancies, or if your kid have not taken the recommended vaccine, they will not let your kid go to school until the kid gets it.

there is a list of vaccination schedule given to me by my sons pedia,  you can search online and check if your kid has taken those vaccines already.

good day mga sis..i submitted my application for fsw last nov 2007. then last week, i received a letter from cic canada to apply in their pilot program wherein i need to submit requirements in british columbia to be assessed as a provincial nominee. vancouver sana destination ko.

after 5 yrs of waiting, parang ngayon pa ako kinakabahan to migrate. i'm asking myself if i really need to go to canada since ok naman work ko dito and since single naman ako, wala ako'ng ibang iintindihin except for my parents and sis lang.

pagdating ko dyan sa canada syempre puro expenses muna tapos maghahanap pa lang ng work, i'm very much worried na hindi kaya maubos ko lang ang savings ko dyan and matagalan makakuha ng work? i'm a civil engineer pero willing ako to work dyan kahit not related sa profession ko..

mga sis, feedback naman please if madali lang makakuha ng work dyan and what are the in demand jobs if mahirapan ako magka work as civil engr.. thanks very much.. sana may taga vancouver dito... God bless mga sis!

mga sis, my sister applied for canada (skilled worker) years ago , and this year nirequest na yung passport niya for visa stamping , if kunyari ba ok na ang lahat , automatically diba pwede na pumunta both my parents niyan? and if ever I'll get my masters here in the philippines credited pa ba yan sa canada ? ontario yung inapplyan ng sis ko

one thing i can say sis.. take the risk and get out of your comfort zone. Canada offers a better life. I promise. Wala pa akong nakitang luhaan na galing Canada.

the parents will be qualified under the Super Visa na. bagong visa qualification for Canada.

you want an honest answer?  mahirap maghanap ng work dito sa [textspeak!] ngayon. but i hope that doesn't discourage you.  in the engineering field--you can't use your credentials here.  you have to go back to school and upgrade.
i know someone who is a civil engineer na nag aral sa pinas, and further his studies in japan. tapos pagdating dito hindi accepted ang credentials nya. so he went back to school for 9mos para lang maging draftsman. after 5 yrs of working in the field and some additional upgrading he got his 'label' as a qualified engineer.  dito sya sa vancouver.
btw, they offer na yata tulong for upgrading international credentials. dito sa [textspeak!] yan ha. di ko alam sa ibang probinsya.

by the way, i applied sa fsw program. showermist, hindi mo naman ako nadiscourage sa insight mo hehe, i know there will be challenges, sana i'll be lucky.

^havent experienced interview pero sabi ng husband ko, be consistent lang with what you are telling them and tell the truth kasi malalaman at malalaman nila yan if may hindi totoo sa application mo and mga sinabi sa intervoew.

goodluck sis! as to what i have observed. filipinos who are already working overseas have greater chances in having a visa to canada. goodluck ulit.
