^ Hi, I think that it will be mostly for nurses. I think that there are some schools there that are up to par with US standards. I am not 100% sure, but if we can't fill the positions then we'll most likely look for people abroad. I am keeping my fingers crossed! For I.T jobs I think that you don't need Canadian experience. You just have to have very good communication skills and you have to prove that you know what you're doing. As for other jobs like accounting, hr etc. you need to have graduated from a Canadian institution.

No, it's not for me. I was asking for my parents.  They're in the medical field kase nung nasa pilipinas kami. Para macertify dito may mga exams pa daw at residency kaya hindi pa sila makapag-practice dito. Pag may update ka sis, kung okay lang... balitaan mo ko ha. thanks!

^ Sure no prob. Check The People Bank site next year, hopefully the contract will happen. I have a couple of titos and titas who were in the medical field but they had to upgrade when they moved here. I guess it's all about standardization. I think that once we recruit abroad we have to look into schools that have the same or almost the same system that they would have here.  We're still not about the plan yet.

^ Eaton Centre it is :-) I might leave depending on how things go in January. I'd like to get more experience in HR and recruiting is only a part of it. Touch base with me in the new year.

As for I.T resumes, I am always open to receiving them :-) The pay rates are quite good especially for Java jobs. If you're really, really good in your field I'll forward your resume to my fiance. He does contract work for Sun Microsystems and he's always looking to add fantastic talent to his roster.

 I am re-creating my resume as I type. There's a storm outside and the office is dead because of the holidays :-)

I work as a Records Clerk but I'm on my maternity leave right now and I will be back on June. I'm planning to find a new job after my leave.

^I wouldn't say I'm really good at it...actually I'm working on being good at it.   I'm currently studying web development and I'd be needing a work placement (for 2 months) by april. Kahit walang bayad! hehe! It'll be more like a learning experience for me... pampaganda na rin ng resume at dagdag reference.   Of course it'd be better if I get a job...but I'll take what I can get.   My previous job was in embedded systems so it won't be of much help because I'd like to focus on web apps. I don't know java though so I guess sun microsystems is out.

Hello! Marami na pala talagang nagma-migrate sa canada. My file number na kami ng bf ko.  In 36 months daw ang timeframe.  Actually, it's my bf's dream to be in canada.  He doesn't want to leave without me so kasama ako sa application, common law ang paper namin.  Before we leave mapapakasal kami dito sa phils. Maganda nga... actually nagseminar kami sa agency and maganda nga ang benefits ng immigrants doon.  Ganun ba talaga katagal? I'm kinda scared din kasi new life... new place.... different people.... ok naman kayo dyan?

^Hi, I asked him and he said that he does not want anyone touching the code but he does have other jobs (i.e data entry etc.). I am not sure how helpful that is to you career-wise but you will learn A LOT from him. He's really, really good.

^Oh, that's sad then. I'm not sure my school would allow that though. They want to talk to employers first before making us work to make sure that we're actually doing what we're trained to do. Anyway, thanks for the effort... I really appreciate it.

I'm not sure, pero I think it's best to go to British Columbia, kasi arguably they have the best weather in Canada. Though right now, nagsnosnow na din dito.

And I think pretty much anywhere naman in Canada may mga Pinoy na, except maybe yung super up North na. Everywhere we go here, mas madami pa nga Pinoy kesa Caucasians eh. LOL.

As for job availability, madaming jobs, kung di ka mapili. It all depends anong field mo gusto and saang place siya in-demand.
