Great selections of frames na less than P500, online eyewear shop? So far, Fievre at Metrosunnies pa lang alam ko, pero mas gusto ko designs sa Fievre (kaso konti lang choices, at dini-delete nila sold out frames na hindi na siguro magka-stock ulit)

Hm multi-coated? Ok ba sa EO? Meron naman Ideal Vision din, kaso 40 mins na byahe, at 1hr+ naman pag traffic (madalas)

It's been a while since anyone posted here but I need help. Been wearing contacts for 21 years with no problems until recently, nagiging red yung eyes ko and prone to infection pag naka contacts. Tried being off contacts for 3 to 4 days, then 6 days then 2 weeks and I tried daily disposable contacts, yung tinatapon at the end of the day. Problem is, according to the ophtha, I have dry eyes daw. Nangyayari minsan hirap akong tanggalin yung contacts kasi SUPER NAKADIKIT sa eyeballs ko parang suction cups. Scary. Pag ni-lubricate naman, mas lalong mahirap alisin kasi madulas.

Anyway, since 750 ang grado ko  and my eyeglasses' lenses are like the bottom of a Coca Cola bottle sa kapal (mukha pa akong bug-eyed, huhu) I have decided na if I can't wear contacts, magpagawa ako nung ultra thin lens eyeglasses. Hindi yung regular "ultra thin" lenses na makapal pa rin. Yung mga Essilor, Seiko etc. But my Opta at Ideal Vision says it costs mga 20k. Grabe. She'll give me a discount because I've been their customer for more than 10 years pero 16k pa rin.

Ganun ba talaga kamahal? With frame na yun. Does Owndays make ultra thin lens glasses sa taas ng grado ko?

^  Go to an ophthalmologist in a hospital, mahal talaga yung mga naka pwesto sa mall.  You can just bring your frame to your ophta.  My ophta holds clinic in the are of Tiendesitas.  He's cheaper than Sarabia, although I bought my eye frames from Sarabia.

Speaking of eyeglasses need ko na din magpagawa ng multicoated lenses kasi natapakan 😂ko yun glasses ko na almost 5yrs ko nang gamit.. in fairness sa frame matibay kahit na 250 lang ang bili ko sa SM masinag (unbranded) i also like the shape of the lens and color of the frame.

Sis swim_fatale are you not considerig lasik, kasi mahal talaga ang ultrathin ni Essilor. Parang sulit pa magpa lasik na lang..

I bought 2 new pairs sa Firmoo, UK Based sila but ships worldwide. Yung last ko na nasira from Firmoo rin, pero ang tagal ko rin naman ginamit almost 5 years din. Yun yung everyday glasses ko na palagi kong nadadagdagan sa pagtulog lol until gumive up na sya last yr.

Since mababa lang grado ko I have my lenses made in Quiapo. Yung multicoated na pinagawa ko dun before was around 700-800 lang, kay EO nasa 1200 sya.

^mahal nga ang essilor sis. Ganun ang lens ng sa anak ko pero matibay at scratch proof basta sturdy or branded ding yun frame.. May authenticity card na binibigay upon purchase.

Angmahal na nga ngayon ng multicoated. dati 900 lang ata yun eh.. Sa ngayon yun existing lightly tinted shades na lang muna gamit ko hehe. Need ko lang naman ifilter yun excessive light from my smartphone.. So far gumagana naman...angsakit kasi sa mata ng led screen nito phone ko lalo na pag madilim. 😎

UPDATE:

When I visted my trusty opto at Ideal Vision, she quoted 6,200 for ultra thin (1.67 -- not high index yet Siko or Essilor) with Elizabeth Arden frame. Discounted na yun. I decided na wag na muna mag high index lenses kasi sobrang mahal.

Kaso, nagtipid ako and I had my new pair made at Ojo Eyewear. 3,088 lang and 30 minutes lang gawin. Maganda naman but compared to my old glasses (8 years old na, from Ideal Vision. Giordano frame, ultra thin lenses), hindi kasing "sharp" yung vision ko, lalo na yung near, like reading sa phone ko. Sa old glasses ko, sharp naman both far and near.  Ang weird. I had the lenses double checked: Tama naman grado -- 750 both lenses.

My opta at Ideal Vision said may technology eme daw na ginagawa para hindi malabo. Are my new glasses not very "sharp" because cheap lang? But 3,088 is not even THAT cheap. I heard sa Quiapo mga 1,200 to 1,500 lang sa grado ko, complete eyeglasses na.

Do they also do high index lenses sa Quiapo? And transition lenses? How much kaya and what's a good optical shop? Ok ba talaga sa Salamin Antipara? Yun yung popular eh.

^^ sis hushush, saan ka nag papagawa ng eyeglasses ng anak mo? essilor din sa anak ko mahal nga siya.. gusto ko sana ipa transition lens.

Almost every year tumataas ang grade ng eyes ko, what I do is bring my Elizabeth Arden frame then ipapachange ko ang lenses sa Paterno St. in Quaipo, P500 lang ang lenses, then meron rin me cheap frame nabili rin pinapachange ko na rin. So nakakatipid ako sa upgrade ng lenses for my 2 frames compare sa mall. Pero nagpapacheck up muna me for my eyesight.

Hi There,

I've been going to EO pero I feel like that they never got my grade properly or may hiyanggan rin ba?
A co worker suggest ideal vision kaso yung mga frames nila hindi ko bet.

Any suggestions on an eye clinic na acceptable yung price range?

^You can try star finder.  They have very good, cheap, korean frames.  As in mura and very light at matibay.

^^ Better to go to an ophtalmologist.  Yung mga nasa malls are just optometrists.  The grade that my ophta prescribes is different from what the mall optometrists suggests.  Mas thorough kasi mag examine ang ophta & don't just rely on the machine.

This is so true. I used to indulge these optical shops so I get a free test when I buy frames but boy, they NEVER get my grade right. So I go to a clinic for prescription (libre naman sa health card anyway)

Update:

Finally got new glasses and yes so far it's better than the one I got from EO. Got it from an optical shop near my place and it's own by a doctor or an opta and she did series of tests.

The doctor even mentioned that I already have astigmatism which could be the reason why I kept on getting headaches.  This is NEWS to me cause EO never really mentioned that and they kept on making my grade same on both eyes even if I know one is higher than the other one.

Anyway,

I have to say I made the right choice of not going back to eo for my glasses.

Wearing glasses and having to constantly change it can be such a hassle and pain in the wallet at times.
