^ after that sis, ano na po gagawin? Nagtry ako maglagay ng admin password, pero nakakaconnect pa rin ako sa wifi na hindi naghahanap ng password.

^ thanks sis! Okay na may password na. Only problem is 2 ang ssid. Yung isa may password, yung ssid2 hindi ko alam pano tanggalin or lagyan ng password. Pls help. Thanks so much!

hi there just wanna ask. since im not really that techie, i'm planning to have my broadband stick converted to wifi router. how do i exactly do that? what do i need to buy? or kelangan ba puntahan ko yung Sun for my subscribtion para iconvert yun? i wanna use my tablet kasi sana for net browsing din. kaso all i have is a broadband stick for my then laptop. help TIA!

Here are some options

pwede sis, get a 3g wifi router - meron nito ang tenda or Edimax. (isasak mo lang sa likod ng router yung broadband stick mo to your 3g wireless router - may wifi ka na) kaso dalawa nga lang device ang bibilihin mo (parang router on a router ito)

you can get a mifi router from huawei, get your sim card from you broadband stick and set the settings to your huawei device or get a subscription sa mga telcos.. labas na ngayon ang 4g.. i wonder kung all locations okay siya. problema neto yung battery life at madaling uminit

or you may want to use AD-HOC wireless sharing using your laptop to your wifi devices..
or maybe can you iPhone Tethering or any mobile capable of tethering

i'm also on the lookout for new router, nagloloo na yung edimax namin, hindi na nagkokonek sobrang bagal na. more than 2 years na din naman...

try linksys or asus tried and tested na yan.. i got a spare linksys router - still working kahit na 5 or 6 years ago na siya.

Hi, pahingi naman po ng advice about sa mga models, brands na malakas and malaki ang area. My bro told me na to wait na lang kaso gusto ko na talaga magpa-wifi sa house tee hee! May maganda na po ba akong mabibili ng 2k budget? Thanks

kaano kalaki ang area? parang mall na ba? hehe.. keri lang naman ang normal routers ng linksys kung bahay lang.. ang mga mall gumagamit na yan ng wireless repeater ata? at di na biro ang presyo ata ng mga routers nila..

prepare aound 3k for a good router pero meron din ata less than 2k like edimax or dlink.. though haven't tried those.

*pag mataas ang lugar - kunwari hanggang 5th floor ang bahay, bili ka ng better wireless antenna (palitan mo yung built in) para umabot sa lahat ng floors*

Hi mga sis, need help on my WiFi router. I just bought one from CDR-King. Kinabit ko sa modem (PLDT) and then my laptop and the WiFi connection worked. My question is, do I have to configure my laptop as indicated in the manual? Ang daming steps and medyo hindi ko ma-gets yung iba eh, medyo technical for me. Thanks in advance for your input.

^ I bought that cDRking brand ages ago, it did work - no brainer out of the box..parang plug and play... Pero as the time goes by I encounter problems with it.. That time I don't know about anything about routers kaya saksak lang kung san kakasya at di kasi ako nagbabasa ng manual. Meron yan for sure.. No harm naman kung babasahin mo tsaka lagyan mo din password ang router mo para di naman hot spot zone ang bahay niyo.. Most of the routers may cd na kasama so at andun nadin ang procedures..

But for some reason, di namin machange yung password niya. So ang password niya eh yung ina-assign ng D-Link na napakahaba. May ideas kayo papano i-change? Sorry po, super hindi kami techie waaah.

Tapos, meron din kami D-Link Router na binili para sa house ng parents ko. Bakit kaya ayaw gumana sa Smart Bro na Internet? Tumawag ako sa smart, sabi lang eh maghanap daw kami ng technician. Kasi although nakakabit yung router, parating nare-direct dun sa page na nanghihingi ng configurations. Help naman po! Thanks!

Option mo for number 1 is to reset your router to factory settings.. parangbago ulet ang router mo. I don't have a dlink router eh.. and i believe you are using yung basic firmware (for router) na nakabundle. Try searching for the reset button sa back portion ng router then repeat the process again together sa CD procedures..

Redirect where? I am using Smartbro too.. ang Smartbro redirection page ang alam ko makikita mo agad when you open any browser which you will provide your account details from your bill.. once na naconfirm na yun.. malelearn na ng router mo yun.

Hi calin22, forgot to visit this thread. Anyway, that same night I posted my message, inaral ko mabuti yung manual and na-set up ko na ng maayos router namin. I also added a password. So far, kahit magdamag kami naka-wifi, hindi naman nagloloko. So, two thumbs up for CDR-King, hehe.

Yay! May wifi router thread.

Naka-dalawang routers na akong gamit.

Yung TP-Link na router only lasted for one year. Kahit na naka-UPS pa yun nasira pa rin. Probably din because I'm a heavy user at halos buong araw ko gamit. Many times din naiiwan magdamag na naka-ON ang router to download stuff. Noong nasira, sobrang init nung router.

After that I used DLink DIR-615. Costed around P3500 more or less. So far so good.

Eto ang tips ko when choosing a router:

1) Stick to reliable brands especially if you will use the router for long periods or kung marami kayong gagamit (5 or more). Example of reliable brands are those from Linksys, D-Link, NetGear. Some examples na hindi reliable are TP-Link and Edimax. You may have to shell out extra money for those better brands.

2) Read reviews from the internet. Checking out the forums are also great. Ask a lot of people. Just read a lot about a specific model that you are interested in.

3) Choose those na Wireless N if ALL the devices in your network are capable of it; avoid routers na Wireless G pa rin. Wireless N routers are pretty fast especially if you are transferring big files from one computer to the other. Wireless G is also old technology and is slow than Wireless N.
     => Baka naman bibili nga kayo ng Wireless N pero luma ang mga devices ninyo. For example, you have a desktop that connects to Wireless G, and a laptop na pwede lang sa Wireless N. Consider upgrading your desktop to use Wireless N para bumilis ang network. Maraming nabibiling mga Wireless N USB adapter which doesn't cost a lot.
     => Another situation, if at least one device sa network ang Wireless G, and upgrading to Wireless N could get expensive or it's not possible, then consider buying a Wifi na pang wireless G to save money.
     => If you still have a Wireless B device, get rid of it na - or upgrade if possible. Sobrang babagal ang network.

 *** If you have at least one device sa network that is slower (that is, pang Wireless G or even Wireless B) then your Wireless N router would act slower as if it is Wireless G or Wireless B.

4) If you need a larger coverage, consider upgrading the antenna of the wifi, and/or purchase repeaters. If you have an old router na working pa naman, you can configure it as a repeater. Repeaters can be expensive rin kasi. The typical cheap routers just covers a little area - mga 2 to 3 rooms lang and those wall obstructions further weakens the wifi signal.
