parang nahihirapan lang ako humanap ng crochet hooks. namamahalan kasi ako sa mga nakikita ko sa online. wala kasi ako mahanap na malaking hooks sa mga navi-visit kong stores e. san kaya meron, yung mura lang sana XD

I love crocheting! sobrang dami na din free patterns online. yung suki ko sa na craft store sa public market dito sa bulacan everytime na bibili ako sa kanya may free pattern siya na binibigay. Kaya lang super konti ng colors ng thread niya.

I just created a new blog which pertains to my Crochet and Knit creations, plus some tips, tricks and patterns for those interested in these crafts.

i know the basics pero pag may ginagawa ako, hindi ko matapos-tapos. hanggang coin purse lang kaya ko. pero bumabalik na naman ang interes ko kasi i saw a pattern online for a halter top for my baby girl. ayun tapos ko na sya. i'm now finishing a baby blanket.

una ako natuto maggantsilyo, elementary days then nag-stop ako highschool..

mantel lang natutunan ko gawin that time..

and now i am amazed with the crochet items na nakikita ko online..

mostly binibenta beanies, kufi hats, booties..

gusto ko sana gumawa para sa parating ko na baby and then benta din in preparation sa panganganak ko..

i've got monaco threads and so far headbands at bracelet pa lang nagagawa ko kasi di ako makasunod sa mga patterns at tutorials sa youtube since yarn ang gamit nila.

kayo ba, thread din gamit?

saan kaya ako makakadownload ng free patterns?

hirap kasi sumabay, nagiging mini version or parang keychain lang yung mga gawa ko tsaka ano ba yung gauge?

Hi sis,

The reason your creations become like mini-versions is that you're not checking your gauge.  Gauge is important so you can determine the size of your final product.  Before you make the BIG project, dapat, i-test mo muna yung gauge mo.  This is essential especially if you have just purchased a new hook or new thread, so you can estimate the size of your final stitched creation.

Anyway, I presume you're using cotton threads so maybe the best you should do is to combine three balls together so you can create a thicker thread.  At least di siya acrylic yarn para di mainit sa balat, but it will still be a little thicker, para masunod yung gauge.  Pag nakapunta ka na sa Rosario, mas mura yung price nung cotton threads per kilo is P170 the last time I made the purchase (last month).  If it's for your baby kasi, mas advisable yung cotton thread - minsan sensitive kasi ang balat ng babies sa acrylic yarn, baka makati sa balat ng infant. 

Try mo yung http://www.ravelry.com/ saka http://www.lionbrand.com/ for free patterns.  There are also a lot of others online pero these are the 2 of the websites I frequent.

Wala silang hooks sa Rosario, unfortunately. Talagang threads lang, acrylic and cotton yarns. I read somewhere meron daw yata sa Carolina's but I haven't tried that personally. May nabili kasi ako nun na set ng China made crochet hooks made of bamboo. Mura na rin, kaya lang it took almost a month before I was able to get it kasi shipped talaga sya, and I had to claim it from the Post Office. Yung as in may Registry Receipt na dumating sa bahay tapos kinuha ko yung parcel sa QC Post office. Ganun.

Anyway, mukhang malabo yata makapag benta ako online kasi wala namang maka appreciate ng crocheted items dito sa atin -- that's the sad part. Buti pa yung mga kasama ko sa isang US based crochet forum, as in talagang gumagawa pa sila ng crocheted items for cancer patients, hats for soldiers, etc. Ang galing nga e. Dapat may ganun din tayo dito no? I've searched pero mukhang walang ganun dito sa Phils.
