Hi Mrslovebunny & Vans, Im also from Surrey!!!! a few blocks away from Guildford. I hope to see you guys. I landed just last week and still trying to find my way around with the bus schedules and routes. its hard not to have a car and friends my age around the area

and the weather is making me depress even more looking for a job. Hope to catch up with you guys before I decide to go back to Manila!!! hehe

neway, my first impressions was surrey is kinda magulo with all the news about the murders then went to New westminister which seems like an old town, then richmond seems like hongkong namanan....

Lipat ka na lang ng Alberta.

IMO, vancouver is kinda magulo, though they have nice sight-seeing places.

Gaano ba katagal ang dating ng work permit, last week of January pa ako nagsubmit ng application, until now wala man lang ako narerecieved kahit notice of reciept?

yeah, ganon ba talaga katagal? kasi I assumed na kung may kulang sa docs na sinubmit ko at least dapat nagpadala na ng notice?ganon ba talaga dito? nag apply din ako for the boys ng Child Tax Free benefit, wala pa rin kahit anog notice.

I have no idea. I was sponsored by my mom kase. How long have you been waiting for the child tax benefit? sandali naman yung saken.

If you're a landed immigrant, why do you need to apply for work permit? All you need is to get a SIN (which takes about half hour) and then you're good to go.

^I agree...no need for work permit. May PR card naman tsaka SIN. Tsaka dun sa Child Tax Free Benefit, my mom got it after a few months.

mabilis nagreply ang Canada Revenue Agency noong nag-apply ako ng Canada Child Tax Benefit last August 2008. nareceive ko agad yung notice from CRA ng September, stating na na-direct deposit na nila sa bank acct ko yung july-september entitlement. tapos may na-receive din akong Universal Child Care Benefit cheque, kahit di ko naman inapply yung UCCB.

im not really sure about work permit, but ang alam ko matagal talaga ang processing ng visas or citizenship dito because of the backlogs. Ako nga sis February 2008 pa ko nag submit ng application for citizenship, wala pa ko balita until now eh. Nakareceive lang ako ng notice of receipt nong August 2008, until now ni ha ni ho wala. kaya tuloy nag apply na lang ako ng us tourist visa para makapunta ako ng US this april ang tagal kasi eh!

yun nga din ang reklamo ko eh, kasi sa US,matagal din naman pero at least makakarecieved ka agad ng notice of reciept para naman sure ka na andon nga yung paper mo, dito wala man lang kahit ano eh,medyo hindi pa naman ako satisfied sa Canada post kasi 2 times na ako nagkaron ng problema sa kanila, kaya di ko alam kung ano nangyari sa papers ko, baka nawala na naman yun.

i dare not to do this, yung mga andito na nga ang hirap maghanap ng work,saka mga company ngayon ayaw na rin masyado muna mag sponsored ng mga foreign workers, kasi madami na rin na taga rito ang jobless.

i have a friend nga it took her 18 months to process then nag exam pa sha so mga 20 to 21 months all in all. But i need to travel kaya sobrang naiinip ako.
