i do have a compaq laptop at home and a company laptop... i didn't bring my compaq here in the US training kasi mabigat if 2 laptops ang dala ko...

we are not allowed to install messenger programs on the company laptop kaya i bought the hp mini. i have a 9-month old baby kasi kaya i really want to be able to do video chat. para na din sa storage of pics

when i get home, i won't be needing it anymore since i have my compaq there

Btw, got MSI Wind na and my golly! I still could not believe how high its specs are! 2GB memory, 250 gb HD for only 22,900!!

Am still charging it. Can't wait to use it tomorrow:D

Update: am using my MSI wind now and I love it!!! Ang bilis and the screen res is great!

My hubby says we got the better deal here; initially, I was drawn to Lenovo S10 because the body looks fabulous but hubby says I should go for performance and reliability instead. And since this one has great reviews, including one from a friend who swears he's able to do his photoshops in it, I decided to go for it na. So far, I'm liking it.

I just bought Hp Vivienne Tam Mini Notebook, I love the design, the keyboards and the color! =) Downside is the battery life is super short, I think around 2 hours lang, 3 cell battery lang kasi eh. By the way, I upgraded my memory to 2gb.

i love that vivienne tam mini note too    i saw one in cyberzone the other day, drooling duling ako sa kanya.  ayaw pa bumigay ng compaq presario laptop ko, dalawang taon na sya.  except for the battery na completely useless na eh wala pang problema 'tong laptop kong ito.  how can i justify buying that VT mini note?

I have a small, small, small, rant lang sa MSI wind- walang bluetooth  Although there's an LED light and software provided for bluetooth, the model I got daw (specifically the color black) does not have one daw. Yung white lang daw ang meron. I wonder why

But ready to use na daw if I plug in a bluetooth dongle. Oh well, looks like I can't have it all, after all

mabagal ba talaga yung asus eee pc? kasi the one i bought, parang medyo mabagal yung internet compared to my laptop eh same connection lang naman. i don't know if there's something wrong with the laptop itself.

Got my hp mini 2140! It comes with free prepaid broadband. I'm thinking of buying a 6-cell battery though. Its 3-cell battery only lasts 3-4 hours. ugh!

plan on buying this too! how much is the 6-cell battery?

why would you guys need a 6 cell battery? netbooks are supposed to be a ultra mobile solution for your small computing and browsing needs. it is not an alternative for laptops or desktops. 3-4 hrs bat life is more than enough. if you need more than that you should buy motolite batteries instead sa panahon ng krisis bawal magtapon ng pera at maging impractical

when you're connected, ano yung speed ng badwidth mo? daming factors kasi eh. minsan baka yung network card mo naka-set lang is lets say mas mababang speed settings. or pwede din sa antivirus mo.

I need my 6-cell battery because I'm a teacher/magazine contributor/grad student and I'm usually in places where sockets are nowhere to be found or hogged by other laptop/netbook owners. Anything less than a 6-cell battery just won't work and will limit my productivity.  Besides, if 3-4hrs is more than enough then why are netbook manufacturers coming out with extended batteries? It means there is a need for it, a market for it and I'm part of that market.

And since my TX1000 conked out earlier this year, this netbook automatically became an alternative -- dahil sa panahon ng krisis parang di na ata kaya ng bulsa kong bumili ng bagong full-sized laptop kaya't okey na itong netbook sa ngayon. Nakakatrabaho naman ako dito ng maayos.

well most manufacturers do bring out semi-useful or useless attachments a good example - docking station. it is true there's a need for some people for this but not for all. problema kasi sa mga end users, pag may bago usually they think it would be very useful for them it would make them look hip and all that they end up buying it. at the end of the day, they find it useless for them or impractical to bring along nasasayang lang. thats  for explaining my comment.

pag naka-connect ka ba dun sa connection icon sa lower right corner ng screen mo [textspeak!] yung speed na naka-lagay? pwede din kasi since bago siya wala pang naka cache sa browser nya kaya mabagal pa siya. once may mga cache files na siya nung mga regular sites na pupuntahan nya, medyo bibilis na yan. pwede din sa antivirus na naka install kaya medyo mabagal or pwede din na nag-auto download yung system ng updates for xp kaya mabagal din.

You'll never know, baka kami alam namin kung bakit namin kailangan ng extended batt at hindi lang para maging "hip" . So ingat ka sa comments mo, don't make hasty generalizations/assumptions such as...

Even my brothers who are in the field of computers (one Oracle DBA, one finishing at Oracle University and one freshman ComSci student - take note of the financial capacity of each as a representative of three different demographics, from big budget to student allowance) say that if budget is a consideration but you want to invest to increase your productivity, then a 6cell battery is well worth the investment.
