Mga Sis -- help!

I want to purchase a new laptop that will be convenient for me to lug around --
here and abroad for the purpose of   going on the net while on the go (airports)
and for showing my pictures.

I have a Toshiba laptop for my business requirements,  and do not want to endanger the contents thereof  with my social/shopping internet activities.   Also, I want a small -- handy -- laptop to bring to lunches/dinners with my friends where we share the last weeks' photos.  (Want to store at any 1 time,  about 1thou photos. 

Please recommend one,  and inform me of what accessories/peripherals I have to purchase, if relevant.  Thank you all in advance.

I agree. You'll never go wrong with a MacBook Air. For storage, get a USB thumb drive(the bigger the space, the better...say, 4GB and up).

yup macbook air or the macbook pero if you can't stay away with a windows machine or if you're a die hard windows user (macs can go windows pero you need to ram them up and mas prone ata to viruses ang macs with the windows os) theres a sony vaio thats 11 inches parang portable dvd player lang sya.

get nalang a usb gigabank/flash drive for the excess photos.

Macbook air is only good for one thing, surfing the net. You have to buy the separate adapter for you to be able to upload any other software or an external DVD drive. So you have to really think twice if you want to be limited with the air.

Thinkpad x300 is the best when it comes to lightweight, portable with all the things you'll ever need. But its a bit pricy.

Best I guess is a Sony vaio.

Okay, mga Sis -- THANK YOU all.  I get mental blocks when confronted with manuals kasi and tend to wing it, 50% of the time -- I crash or lose some valuable extensive work before I get to "oido" my way through a new laptop (or cellphone)/software.

I want another life, separate from this Toshiba of business stuff  attached to my back (LOL) -- a light but dependable (na hindi naman ako matahin pag use it in public  LOL) laptop for my on the go internet hours and pictures    I will look into your suggestions very seriously. 

O nga,  unload in the flash drives.  Or siguro, that is what this smaller-than-a-pocketbook but hefty and kinda heavy external drive whatever given to me by a niece is for.  Harapin ko nga my fears -- like this 1 -- LOL

What are your opinions on the Asus 4gb small laptop?
Saw it at the computer section at Megamall going for Pxxxk.
Worth it kaya?  Just want something that small lang in size.

^Tama.  Ok ang Asus pang chat and surf.   But to back up files, wag nalang siguro.  I heard the capacity is only 12gb?  If that's the case, mukhang super liit nun...

my hubby uses Fujitsu U1010, sobrang liit nya (5.6 inches lang ang screen) ang half kilo lang ang bigat.

^Try looking at the HP Mini na din sis, it prides itself with a waterproof & larger keyboard and aluminum case

cher.liman: the hp mini's main drawback, though, is that the processor is incredibly weak. hp knows that, and released some patches to speed things up. now it's at the level of usable, but not recommended. pity, it looks really nice pa naman.


aquacharly: buying a macbook air just for those purposes seems like a waste. besides, didn't you want a small one?

saw it sa electroworld.. it's really nice... way nicer that the asus eepc pero mukhang sablay ata pagdating sa processor and 1.0ghz lang... i'm not so techie... need more insight... TIA!

sa mga UMPCs n available dito, hp mini note ang the best in terms of physical appearnce, pero kulelat s processor. but i read somewhere na may plan ang HP na maglabas ng intel version....hmmm, nagpipigil tuloy ako sa compaq b1285, lolz.
