Masabaw Na Recipe
« Reply #41 on: February 08, 2011, 01:06:45 pm »
can you please send me a recipe na masabaw para sa mag-ina ko?
She find it relieving kapag nakakahigop siya ng sabaw eh... basta huwag lang maanghang... I am running out of ideas eh... hindi naman pwedeng puro sinigang na baka, nilagang baka, tinolang manok at bulalo ang ipakain ko sa kanya.  kawawa naman ang baby ko kung nagkataon ;)

Mongo Soup

boil the mongo
pigain and salain to get the katas of mongo

then saute garlic
onion
add hibe (shrimp)
then add salt or patis to taste ( I usually used

Lets invent our very own recipe, using veggie, chicken bouillon cubes, evaporated milk, garlic and onion.

1. first boil the veggie (squash, or malunggay, or spinnach, etc)in 1 1/2 - 2 cups water.
2. Let it cool. Then put in blender. Shake until smooth.
3. Saute garlic in olive oil, wait to brown a little before adding the onion. And add the shaked' veggie.
4. Add chicken cubes. Let it boil for about 5 minutes. Add the evaprated milk and some fish sauce to taste. (you can also add some cornstarch dissolved in cold water to make your soup 'malapot). When done remove from fire.
5. You can serve this with croutons.

This one naman is a soup I made mostly for breakfast. Kasi my kids love noodles. Eh I dont want them to always eat noodles, thats why I invented this shabu shabu immitation soup.

Ingredients:

100 g Chopped pork or 100 g shrimps
1 egg beaten
misua
onion chopped
chopped pechay(optional)
2 tbsp (or according to your taste) kikoman soysauce
chicken cubes

Directon for cooking

1. Boil 2-3 cups water with chopped onion and  chicken cubes.
2. Add pork or shrimp, and cooked for 5 mins.
3. Add misua and kikoman soy sauce. Let simmer for another 3 minutes
4. Add vegetable. And beaten egg while stirring constantly.
5. Turn off the fire. Serve while hot.

Soup lover din ako! eto naman ang one of my favorites ko: Corn Soup

You will need:
Corn Kernel
Chicken (yung breast part para me buto buto)
Okra (thinly sliced)
Knorr Chicken cubes or patis na lang pag wala
garlic
onion
pepper
tomato
red bellpepper

Saute the garlic, onion and tomato, tas lagay na ang chicken, pag you think okay na ang chicken sunod na yung corn and okra..better if you can have as much okra as you want para lalapot yung soup.

I made a carrot and red bell pepper soup from scratch  :)

Ingredients:

2-3 medium sized carrots, boiled until soft (set aside the water)
1 large red bell pepper, lightly grilled
chopped bacon (depends on you how much you want to use, it's for garnish)
medium sized garlic
medium sized onion
gouda cheese, grated or thinly sliced
salt and pepper to taste
cornstarch if you want it to be thick
olive oil, optional

procedure
throw in boiled carrots and red bell pepper into the blender. mix in the half of the garlic and onion. use a sifter to get a smooth juice from the concotion. meanwhile, fry the chopped bacon until brown/crispy. set aside the fried bacon in three layers of paper table napkin to remove the grease. get at least one teaspoon of bacon oil (for the flavor, or you may use new oil preferably extra virgin olive oil) and sautee the remaining onion and garlic. when the onion and garlic are near transparent and cooked,  add the water used in boiling the carrots. add the blended juice of carrots, red bell pepper and onion and garlic. stir. add the gouda cheese. keep on stirring until the cheese melts, and let it thicken slightly. if you want to achieve a thicker consistency, mix in cornstarch powder with water, then mix into the pan. keep on stirring until you reach a desired consistency.

plating:
pour a desired amount into a soup bowl. garnish with your bacon. serve with garlic bread (optional)

enjoy!

Ingredients for 4 people:
1 Cucumber
1 Pimiento o kaya 1/2 Green Bell Pepper
1/4 Lettuce
1/2 cup of Olive oil
1 Carrot
2 Tbsp Lemonjuice or Lime, some people put vinegar but I prefer Lemon or Lime
1 clove Garlic
1 Tbsp. Salt or according to taste
1 Egg
3/4 Litre Cold Water

1.) Wash muna natin lahat ng vegetables.. Siguraduhing malinis lahat.
2.) Peel the tomatoes, Garlic, Carrot and Cucumber
3.) Puree the tomatoes using the Blender with the Olive Oil, Garlic and Salt. Or if wala naman kayong blender, alisin nyo yung buto ng kamatis at dikdikin na lang natin sila. o kaya use a food mill.
4.) I think hindi kasya lahat sa isang blender so iset aside natin yung Tomatoes and ilagay natin sa isang malaking bowl.
5.) I-blender natin ngayon yung Cucumber, Bell Pepper, Lettuce, Carrot, Lemonjuice, Cold Water and Egg.
6.) Mix natin lahat ng ingredients dun sa big bowl kung nasan yung tomatoes and then mix natin lahat with an electric hand beater.
7.) Put this in the Fridge first and then after 30 minutes ready to serve na sya.
8.) Last but not the least, Enjoy!

kids will probably love this :D sino ba naman ang ayaw ng hamburger? :P hehe!

Hamburger Soup
1 Tbls Olive Oil
1/2 a med sized onion, chopped
2 Tbls minced garlic
1 lb ground beef
1 can condensed tomato soup, plus 1 can water
2-14 oz. cans beef broth
1 small can of corn
1 cup cooked macaroni, wagon wheel, or small shell pasta

Heat olive oil in a skillet. Add onion and garlic until the onions are just soft. Add ground beef, season with salt and cook until meat is longer pink.

Meanwhile, in a 5 quart soup pot, pour in beef broth, tomato soup and water. Bring to a boil, turn down heat and simmer. In another pot, cook pasta to package directions, or cook directly in tomato/beef broth (I've done it both ways, but prefer to cook pasta in plain water).

When meat is cooked through, add to beef soup mixture. Add corn and pasta and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
