i have to say na nung pinalitan yung motherboard ng lappie ko (primarily because of the webcam problem) naging ok na ang cpu temp nito. i used to get abnormally high temps even with minimal usage lang.

yay!! kung alam ko lang na may ganitong issue, i wouldn't allow my husband to get the pavillion, gift nya lang kasi sakin, he chose between viao and this, so better specs, cheaper price, he settle for hp pav.

I seldom use my lappy naman, often time desktop gamit ko, any possible cause to "hardware/motherboard" failures?

i think the laptop dock with fans is a good idea.  i suspect that is bec the motherboard was overheating.  (just a suspicion, i'm no expert)

the reason is i because my bro usually places his laptop in bed, and ang mga vents na c-cover ng blanket/comforter. 

i use mine on a hard surface, like a table.  and if i use it in bed, i make sure i place somethign flat on the bottom, so that the vents aren't blocked.

after how many days of using my hp pavillion, wala naman problem. (buti naman) in fact i asked our MIS personnel here in our office to check too and install some programs na kelangan ko, ok daw yung nabili ko...

in fact our company ordered 2 laptops with the same specs as mine.

i bought a compaq cq40 the other day... any feedback bout this model?

dedicated vertical Scroll Up/Down pad isn't working. is there any setting to activate it? and the touchpad seems to be very sensitive.. it toggles diff. windows.. still observing that though... and the webcam.. it is working but there's no specific program installed to make it work aside from messenger..

^i take you are using vista. you need to install HP QuickPlay so that you can use the webcam without messenger.

btw, have you installed the correct touchpad drivers?

i think you're right about the driver, sis... the mouse options in the control panel doesn't have any for a touchpad..

also, i cannot create a recovery disc. as per the manual, there should be a: start > all programs > recovery manager but i don't have one

this is frustrating... it seems that the one who installed the drivers did not do it properly

just download the touchpad driver at the hp site. madali lang naman ang installation nun.

i have hp pavilion dv6000.. im using it for more than 1 year now.

still works well and it doesn't seem to work slow. i really love it except that it is somewhat big.

what i like is my sister's notebook.. 

touch screen and the screen can be rotated.

Hi I bought my HP dv2000 series July of last year. and just few weeks ago suddenly the sceen went totally black with three beep sounds everytime I open it.
When I went to HP website, I learned that their HP DV2000 and HP6000 are deffective.

I suggest not to buy these series and HP did admit in their website and even extending the warranty for the said units. Sobrang ingat pa naman ako with my laptop and felt so bad when it was not working anymore. If I have to charge it the whole day that's the only time it will open normally as if walang sira.

^naku sis, this happened to my bro's laptop & i'm the one using it.
I brought the laptop sa HP service center noong 1st week of October at nung kukunin ko na sabi sa akin i'm lucky pa daw kasi the laptop was included pa for system enhancement which is na-extend daw if not they'll give me a quote around P20-30K eh parang bumili ka na rin ng bago. I thought may babayaran ako kasi katatapos lang ng warranty last Sept., buti na lang at wala.

i suggest dalhin mo na rin sa service center to avail sa system enhancement. So far naman,i haven't experience the total black screen and hopefully ok na. Pinabebenta na nga ng brother ko 'yung laptop nya because he wants to buy another brand of laptop.

may nakita akong website, pinoylaptops.com. kaya daw nila magrepair ng video defect ng HP.  i dont know if its true. try ko puntahan next week. pagawa ko DV2000 ko.

mga sis pano ba makikita yung full capacity ng hard disk sa vista? pina-partitioned ko kasi yung 160gb hard disk ko.... pero yung nagre-reflect sa drive c is 70+gb lang.... di ko makita yung other half.... thanks

my friend told me to buy the expensive laptop cooler na hp daw ang brand, but i dont think this even exists. the most expensive one i saw in the mall was 600 pesos. i dont know if this is necessary.
does anyone have any information abt laptop coolers that u can just plug, and not have anything to do w/ ur usb port..thnaks

many are suspecting that Vista is causing this problem, i bought a new battery 3 months ago, this is happening to me almost everyday, I've done different approach to make it charge, there's restarting the system, unplugging AC and plugging it again, detaching the battery; yes, it helped for a while, but the problem is still there, it appears that these are not the permanent solution for this.

Before the warranty lapsed, i thought of bringing it back to HP to have it replaced, I had a new one, but still the same. I remember one of the HP staff told me, it could be a motherboard failure. But as i google the net, I learned that many are experiencing this, with different laptop brands but they have one thing in common...VISTA is their operating system.

hi, does anyone know a service center (other than HP center in makati) who repairs cracked hinges ? sa HP kasi quoted us for about 30k dahil wala daw individual spare parts for hinges.. it comes with a monitor kaya ganun ang price. . in short they need to change the monitor & the hinges. pricey masyado and not that practical because my monitor is still working.. though sometimes nag flicker na rin eto dahil the hinges is not stable. kaya most of the time nakasandal ang aking monitor sa pader.

my laptop's model is Compaq Presario M2000..

i saw one sa festival mall, computer repair center sa floor ng mga gadgets/laptops/tech products.. i am not sure if okay sila gumawa.

feeling ko kasi pwede pang remediyohan ang hinges nito..

actually wala talaga mabibili na hinges lang part siya talaga ng LCD monitor.

if you're planning to have it repaired in some computer shops, you are taking more risks besides i doubt it kung makakuha sila ng hinge part ng lappy mo. sa HP pa din naman sila kukuha so ganun din ang price plus plus pa.
