hi sis, have you tried capoiera already? i'm interested to try this. I inquired and rates are 200 per session or 2000 per month. first session is free. shoot me a PM if you're interested to join me. I might go there next week. ;)

ebc philippines mga sis :) my bf used to do this regularly,di lang ako sumasali kasi natatakot ako gawin yung ibang moves nila hahaha..kaya naman, madali lang for other girls, ako lang talaga yung takot ma-injure/magpaltos ang paa lol..saka loser ko sa mga body movements na may coordination haha..super nice ng mga tao sa ebc na naging friends ni bf and naka close ko na din since i used to watch their classes regulary & attend their events too..they have classes in manila polo club, weekdays around 6pm if i'm not mistaken..may mga classes din sa la salle and ateneo from time to time, ebc members din ang andun.
check out their site: http://www.ebcphilippines.com/  :)

So glad to find a capoeira thread here! I train under Escola Brasiliera de Capoeira, and we have an actual mestre (red belt), Mestre Fantasma.  I highly encourage everyone to join!  You have to try it several times to be able to appreciate it kasi yung nakikita kong iba magtatry lang once tapos di na babalik ulit, baka naintimidate.  But everyone there, I promise you, would really love to help out newbies.  I'm new to it myself, I only started it last summer.  I had to take a break lang this month, but I'll be back in January. :)  Here's the EBC website if you want to know more where the other classes are, because I only attend the ones in Metrowalk Ultimate Fitness and in Yoga+ Makati.  http://www.ebcphilippines.com/

And promise, it doesn't really matter kung anong size mo, if payat ka or what.  You'll build up endurance for it later.  I actually got into yoga kasi I wanted to cross-train it with capoeira, it helps with the movements and inversions.

EBC also regularly hold free trials week -- I'll try to keep this thread updated with that. :)  Don't be intimidated by this, you should really give it a chance, like take 3 or more classes straight so you can appreciate it.  Actually nung first time ko lang din, I just wanted to be more active and alam kong hindi magwowork sakin ang gym it had to be a sport. I signed up for 3 months para walang atrasan haha!  Also wrote a blog post about my first time here, in case it'll help with people's initial apprehensions about Capoeira: http://bit.ly/16jHIt8  :)

At least twice a week is good para di mo makalimutan yung basics, but if you want thrice, UF in Metrowalk has classes TTHS. MW for Yoga+ Makati and I hear they're going to open classes in Yoga+ Fort.

I've been wanting to try this also but I can't seem to find a place that's walking distance from my office. Is anybody here familiar with the capoeira in FTX Makati?

^^@thereluctantstylista a friend also recommended Yoga+ & Mestre Fantasma. When I looked at the building location it's even closer to my office.  I was wondering if I could observe a class or a Roda first before I decide to sign up just to see if this is really the thing for me? I have jazz/ballet background so I'm guessing pwede na ako when it comes to the training but I also have an ACL problem so I don't know if that will be a big detriment. Anyway, I'll be looking forward to your updates on EBC's free trials.  :)
