my sister is going to throw me a bridal shower when i come home late this year, and yes, im not paying for any of that. so hands-off ako with the planning. wonder what she's up to now

couple of years back, i organized a chocolate and martini bridal shower. kasi yun ang mga faves ni bride. so para syang chic version ng pajama party (pj buddies din kasi kami nung kids kami eh )
well, as of gifts na na-receive nya, as far as i can remember eh like naman nya. one of the guests gave her a stiletto-shaped bottle holder, then yun isa naman chocolate-flavored edible panties. then her sister gave her a necklace with a martini-shaped diamond pendant (marami pang iba pero eto yun mga naalala ko lang).

My friends and I organized two bridal showers for two friends.  We paid for it.  As others have said, the bridal shower is for her, so she should never spend anything for it.  Parang surprise birthday party, hindi naman yung celebrant ang nagbabayad.  Whoever organized the bridal shower, sya dapat bahala kung sino magbabayad. Kasi nung kami nag-organize, we told the guests na hati-hati ng bayad ang mga guests. They agreed naman kaya walang naging problem.

weird naman ata if bride ba magbabayad sa sarili niyang bridal shower. if ako lang ha, if bride lang din naman magbabayad, no to bridal shower na ko. dami na nga gastos sa wedding tapos add mo pa bridal shower? no way. mag-party na lang kame sa reception ko

Bridal showers are usually given by the friends of the bride kaya sila din ang gumagastos.  Pwede naman yan i-set up sa budget na afford ng lahat, that's how we do it.

we organized a stag party for one of our office mate before. it was also held in our conference room but during our merienda break.. we ordered some food and prepared kink gifts.. it was a surprise so we asked the guys to go out to have a yosi break... while we, the girls, prepared the food and gifts.. then we wait for the signal of the guys when they were about to go back so that we can close the lights and then play a music (music played in night clubs.. )

.. so for your bridal shower you can prepare something like that. ask someone to be with the soon-to-be-bride to go outside who will guard her and send a signal that they are about to go back in the office already. prepare the food, gifts, music (not necessarily loud music.. probably sound of the ocean since you said it will be a beach wedding) and decors (flower scattered on the table; create flower necklaces for each attendee and a flower crown for the soon to be bride.. )

^haha we have 15 minutes break in the afternoon that we can take between 3PM-3:30PM. We usually take the whole 30 minutes and if we have those celebrations, it usually takes an hour. Our manager is very nice about it since it is a way to make work-life balance.

hi mga sisses, just want to ask lang about your ideas and games for bridal shower party. i hope we could share each other. the 1st time i attended was with a spa party at wensha, we are a group of 7-8 girls lang, we had massage lang and we just give our friend gifts. limited lang din kasi ang time dahil overseas couple sila so yun lang yung pinakamadaling nagawa nmin, no games or watsoever, kwentuhan lang talaga after.

the next one was held at bsa tower here in makati. we rented a room around 3k yta, we just decorated it. then we had foods, then games na, 1. we had a making of a bridal gown using tissue, super nakakatuwa kasi makikita mo din yung mga ideas at style ng bawat isa, 2. the next once we had a different veggies/fruits like talong, pipino, banana and condom, then pabilisan lang kung sino makakapaglagay. we also had pinoy henyo sort of games, all about weddings yung topic. 3. we also had egg at talong game, ang kaso ang hirap, hehehhe, then we also had mash mallow eating contest, pabilisan lang din kumain, without holding the marsh mallow.

do you have any ideas pa ba on what party should we have and any other games, same set kasi ng barkada and ang pangit nman kung uulitin namin yung mga games, hehe thank u mga sisses :-)

There is a bingo game for bridal shower. Me bingo cards and literal na Kung pano nag larong bingo, ganon din. Then there is also abc'sof wedding.. Your friends will need to fill out each letter that corresponds to a wedding like for arrhae, b for bride and so on...

You can also try going on the bridal shower.com or bridalshowergames101.com. They have a sample entitled getting ready for bed... You need your volunteer players, give them each a paper bag to put over their head and tell them to take off as many extra clothes as possible like wathces, jewelry. It says most doesn't think that they need to take the paper bag off. The player with the most item removed is the winner... Contestant should be told not to ask questions until the game is finish...

I think that game is cute though you need to have a game one. Then just give them like two minutes to do the thing...

sis you can also have "Finders Keepers" bridal shower edition like any bridal shower item, maybe a thong or condom will be kept somewhere and the guests will have to find it..

you can also have what's in a purse? make a list of items usually found in a girl's purse. like a face powder, lipstick, pocket calendar, floss, or maybe something naughty... the guest who has the most number of items in her purse wins the game..

Ilagagay mo yung banaba sa plate na punong puno ng chocolate icecream then kakainin mo yung mo yung ice-cream without using your hand (only your mouth and tongue) hanggang sa malinis na yung banana. Dapat hindi siya maputol o makagat.

share ko lang yung experience ko...

weird pero ang nagorganize ng bridal shower ko ay yung fiance ko (husband ko na ngayon). all my girl friends kasi ay sobrang busy, lahat kasi medical field ( doctors, nurses, tapos yung iba naman ay taga malalayo talaga) plus i don't have a sister kaya wala talagang magoorganize nun. Expected ko na na wala talaga pero few weeks before the wedding, sinabihan ako ni fiance na lalabas daw kami kaya magbihis daw ako. hinatid nya lang ako dun sa place tapos umalis na sya. Pagpasok ko dun sa room, my friends were there na, may food na rin, nakapagprepare na rin sila for the games.  Sabi nung friend ko, super effort daw talaga si fiance kasi sya talaga yung nagcoordinate ng lahat para lang magfit sa hectic schedule ng lahat. Super touched naman ako sa efforts nya at pati na rin sa mga nagpunta.. either from duty sila or my duty early morning the next day.

after the party, sinundo ulit ako ni fiance and i asked him kung bakit pa sya nagabala para dun. He told me na ayaw nya ma-miss ko yung bridal shower ko kasi isang beses lang daw yun mangyayari sa buhay ko. awww...
