TICKS! Please Help

speaking of, i just had an infestation of FLEAS and TICKS 2 weeks ago... i used solfac and frontline spray to clean the house and frontline spray again for the dogs.... this was a 3 day process... i had everything removed from each room of the house and sprayed solfac on the floor, walls, corners and even the ceiling... i even sprayed solfac on the furniture and everything/anything visible and let it airdry... it is non-toxic provided it is diluted... if i remember correctly the dilution is 20mg per 4 litters of water... just spray it on and leave it there to dry... it is very effective with larva, fleas, mosquitoes and even cockroaches... after 48hrs, we sprayed with frontline... this has a very strong odor so i recommend that you wear a mask, leave a fan on and do not enter the room for the next 6hrs... make sure u get every crevice, as these buggers can hide and survive for months at a time without eating... the frontline spray is much more effective than the frontline drop... dont bathe your dog for atleast 3-5 days so that it will absorb through their skin... ticks that dare try to feed from your dog will drop/hang dead... dogs should then have a follow up spray once a month...

anyone knows any shampoo na effective? ive tried petguard shampoo kasi and ngkaroon ng skin reaction sa 2 dogs ko..ngkaroon sila ng spot na dandruff then pag inalis mo matatanggal yung buhok sa part na un..yoko pa kasi bumili ng frontline kasi 5 dogs meron ako...uber magastos

^imo, the shampoos are not as effective as frontiline spray... you're better off getting frontline kasi it really works... but you cant use it if your dogs have open wounds ha.

I use Revolution and Frontline spot on regularly for my pets. It works.

aww, un lang..just sprayed them with frontline yesterday kaya pala nagsugat yung isang dog ko lalo ngayon kakakamot..may galis kasi siya before and medyo nawala na naman, not sure if yung frontline ngtrigger uli nung pangangati niya resulting sa pagsusugat again..

^ sure ka ba na due sa ticks yung kati-kati nya? baka kasi may skin allergy sya kaya nagkakamot? best to have your dog see a vet. i-scrape nila yung skin and tignan sa microscope kung may bacterial infection.

although pwede rin na na-irritate ng frontline yung sugat nya kaya lalong nagkamot.

Frontline is the best! Use it only once a month for 400pesos. Both preventive and curative sya for ticks.

minsan kaya nagkakamot kasi pag nakatapak sila ng wiwi nila tapos yung paa na may wiwi ay pinang-kamot sa balat, dun nagkakapula at kati kaya mega kamot palagi.

effective sa kato yung ivomec pero yung dectomax hindi talaga effective sa kato. kaso after ilang months nabalik yung kato kaya inject ko uli sila.

ako naman i have 13 toy dogs, nun nagka ticks and flea sila, never pa akong gumamit ng frontline masyadong mahal kasi para sa akin kasi andami nila, ang ginamit ko sergeants tick and flea yun color green... i wash my dog with regular dog shampoo first, to wash away yun dumi nila, then pagkatapos ko irinse i use sergeants na, binababad ko yun sa coat nila for ten minutes tska ko irinse. pinapaliguan ko sila every 3 days, lucky for me nawawala naman yung mga kuto, tska linis lang din ng kennel and paligid. Pansin ko lang kapag mainit and medyo matagal ko sila hindi napaliguan (like 3 weeks) nandyan nanaman yung mga kuto. Pero effective yun shampoo for me, it never fail me, ngayon wala kasing sergeants sa vet ko, kaya binili ko sentry tick and flea so far effective din naman ambango pa sobra halos parehas ng amoy ng sergeants.

My dog sleeps under the bed and this morning when I woke up there were 4 ticks in our bed, the tiny ones, but they were full from 'eating' all night I guess. This isnt the first time either just recently I have noticed ticks on the wall, floor, on and in the bed.

I'm planning to buy frontline today for my dog and not let him sleep in the room anymore. Is frontline the best treatment for ticks?? Also how do I get rid of the ticks from my room??

There are three ways to make your dog tick/flea-free, ewan ko lang pero saken super effective.  My baby shitzu had FAD (flea allergy dermatitis) to the point na gusto ko na siyang ipakalbo.  Pero I read this sa dogtrackeronline.com.

1) APPLE CIDER VINEGAR - putting a part of this sa drinking water nya can really avoid ticks and fleas.  Why?  Kasi yung secretion ng dogs nag-iiba ang lasa, so ticks and fleas really hate yung maasim.  Kahit a tablespoon lang for every 500mL, yun matapang na yun.  Depende na lang kung magiging ok sa panlasa ng dogs nyo.  Kung hindi, a teaspoon can do.

2) BREWERS YEAST w/ GARLIC - binili ko sa My Sassy Puppy.  Ginawa ko lang as parang trial, nabasa ko lang din sa forum kasi same tayo ng problem.  So far, after two weeks, nabawasan n ang pagkakamot nya, mas lalo pang gumanda hair nya.

3) VCO - well, same forum I read from.  Really make miracles.  Lalong naging shiny ang hair and less tangle.  Also, VCO is not only good them but also for us.

Actually friends, Im doing all three.  So far, my 5-month old shitzu baby have really improved not only physically but also health wise.  Too much?  Isn't that what your going to do for your babies?!  After all, maliit lang ang pag-aalaga natin kapalit ng ginagawa nila for us.  As for me, hindi ako nag-o-OT sa office para lang makauwi ng maaga at makalaro ko na siya.  That way, stress-free na ako and less masungit because of my baby.

does anyone here know a thing or two about cat fleas? and products to use for cats. nabasa ko kasi na iba ang content ng mga shampoo, spay etc. for dogs and cats.my persian cat is infested with fleas now and i feel bad that she's itching and I'm not doing enough to make those things go away. plus the fact that theyre furry parang ang hirap icontrol

hi mga sis, can you recommend a good tearless shampoo for a japanese spitz?
this is actually my first time having a dog and as much as possible, i want to take care of him talaga to the best of what i know

he is already 2 months old and its been 2 days na since we got him and he's white pa naman. di pa siya nakakaligo. prob with Charlie is that gustung gusto sumiksik sa mga silong silong, e dun yung maalikabok.

kaya he always end up looking like stale grayish. in short, basahan.

any suggestion on which brands? yung cheaper po sana.

nung first ko siya nakuha, i think wala naman. pero kahapon feeling ko parang kamot siya ng kamot
sabi nung breeder 1x a week lang daw ligo niya. pero parang gusto ko na siya liguan mga 2-3x a week kasi although walang amoy, parang kinakati na siya

Inspect mo kung may ticks talaga. Kung wala, just use regular puppy shampoo. Like alpo puppy shampoo P200 sa sm.

Imo, bathing more than 1x a week is too much. Too drying sa skin. My pup stays indoor kaya monthly bath lang. He is mabango and malinis maski monthly lang sila magkita ng groomer. Bilib nga sya kasi pati tenga malinis. Hehe
