i don't know if that company is legit but there really is a profession called mystery shopper. you basically work for a market research agency and you pose like an ordinary shopper. you go to a store/restaurant and you try the products and assess the services. you have a set of scenarios that you will recreate to evaluate the place or product. you return to the market research and agency and submit your feedback.

i've done this once as a project for my MBA class. we checked out belo medical group.

i had a form dati na mystery shopping application for the local brands here. medyo mahirap lang kasi mag re reimburse ka pa ng mga ginastos mo. *nyekk* pero my parents and my uncle seems doubtful since theyre good in knowing a scam. it wasnt a scam naman pero some details were too vague.
at the time, i want to be extra careful kasi wala talagang may alam na may mytsrey shopping pala dito.

i don't know if the company you mentioned is legit but mystery shoppers are true. my friend used to do this. she buys new products that comes out in our market and writes a review about it then sends a sample of the product to her boss in the U.S. later on, the company sent her a digicam, so instead of sending samples of the products, picture nalang and she gets to keep the products that she bought.  she found out about the job sa isang ad sa Manila Times newspaper if im not mistaken. swerte nya. coz 1 person in each country lang kinukuha ng company na yun.

sa us it's true for sure.

sa one job ko when i was a teenager, a mystery shopper evaluated my performance.  there were 30 things i had to have done but i passed missing just one.

it was a video shop that i worked at and from the time the customer walks in the store, you should have greeted them, offered help, then if they ask about opening a membership, you're suppose to brief them, etc, etc... i got $100 bonus for passing and ofcouse we don't know who it was kasi in one day at least 10 people sign up for membership

Im not sure if that company is legit but I once became a mystery shopper for MAC cosmetics. The chief MA was a friend of mine and she asked me to evaluate the MA's at any MAC store. She sent me a questionnaire that I have to email back after the evaluation. I didnt have to buy anything. I just have to ask questions about the products, try them out.. see if the MA's can sell the products.

Di ko nga pinasa yung in-evaluate ko kasi he wasnt very helpful but in return I got freebies from MAC like a lipstick, eyeshadow and lip glass.

there's really such a thing as a mystery shopper.  i was one about a year ago.  you will just be asked to evaluate a brand or a service of a company para malaman nila if what they're doing for their product or service is effective.  for talking to someone for like 20 minutes, i got 3k.  not bad na din right?

if they ask you to pay or at least get your credit card info, then that is a scam...

This would be a side job I would be interested in -- not for the money, but to triple-task my time at the mall.

i was sent an appli for a mystery shopping job and i passed the screening, which was actually just a few questions i answered at their website. but i was never active, since, the stores are quite far from where i live.

this is how they do it:
- when you become an active member, there would be a list of stores that need evaluation, you choose the store where you want to be a MS.
- details will be on the site also, but its a first come first serve basis thing, for you to score a job, you have to frequent the website for postings.
- everything is reimbursable. just send proof of purchase and it will be sent thru direct depost or cheque.
- a very detailed report about the shopping experience will have to be submitted together with proof of purchase (if any - some doesnt require that you buy something)

Sa John Clements sa Makati they are hiring Mystery shoppers. Nung dyan pa ko sa Phils. yan ginagawa ko minsan dun ako nagapply. Natry ko lang isang sikat na fastfood. Kakain ka tapos fill up ka ng questionnaire after. Yun nga lang reimburse talaga sya. Pag medyo malayo sa place mo pati transport reimburse nila tapos gusto kasi nila orignal receipt so yun courier ko kasama din sa ireimburse. Ok sya na sideline.

Yes there is.  In fact, I was called up by last week by a company which hires mystery shoppers.  I can't remember where I applied kasi last year pa ata ako nagapply but I think sa jobstreet ko ata nakita or sa PEX.  Sa sobrang bigla ko, I forgot to ask what was the name of the company.

Anyway, it didn't push through because I had to evaluate car companies like Toyota and BMW.  Unfortunately, I don't know how to drive or change oils.  I had to pose as potential buyer for a BMW.  E wala naman akong alam about cars so I had to decline.

Sayang, it would help jumpstart my career in research yun nga lang, hindi right yung project for me.  Sabi ko nga, pag about food, girly stuff, tawagan nila agad ako. LOL!

sis meron dito sa phils. it is part of my sideline a year ago pa....3x nako naka recieve na they called it commision or "token fee". 1k ang marerecieve mo pag sa bank ka binigyan ng project pero pag sa mga mall lang last yr nasa 500.
