mga sis, i have a planned trip to shanghai on sept 22, may i ask kung whats the weather like during that time?

its my first time there, san mas madali kumuha ng visa? im here in the province ok lang kaya mag agency?

I will be going to Shanghai.  How is the shopping here?  I am confused with the new shanghai and old shanghai...where is it better to stay?  I am thinking of Pudong area...Shangri-la Hotel and there is a mall beside it.  Suggestions would be a big help.  Thank-you.  Is it like Hong Kong?

Mga sis help naman po kung pano yun magprocess ng chinese visa?? we'll be visiting beijing baka this sept. For single entry lang.. ask ko lang kung [textspeak!] yun mga requirements?? nalilito kasi ako sa mga sinusuggests ng mga iab e.. yun iba kasi sabi need pa daw ng NBI clearance..

This Based on my experience when I applied sa embassy mismo this Monday at sa tagal na hinintay ko sa number ko at buti na lang mabait yun officer kung saan ako natapat:

if you have previous travels to other countries na sa passport mo, just provide: passport with previous travels, app form, 2x2 pic (scanned pictures are not allowed na daw), xerox of roundtrip ticket or hotel voucher

if wala pang mga stamps of other countries sa passport or pagnawala daw yun passport mo with previos travels na, considered as first time traveller yun. so ito requirements: passport, 2x2 pic, app form, xerox of roundtrip ticket or hotel voucher, nbi clearance valid for Travel abroad, sss id, employment certificate, bank certificate. if meron mag sponsor sa inyo like your parents etc, provide yun bank certificate nila and letter na sila nagsponsor.

and word of advice daw, even if masmadali sa agency kasi they provide most of your requirements na, there are agencies that provide fake docus. so ang sabi sakin ng embassy, pag nahuli sila, pwede mablacklist ang applicant (kahit na he/she has no knowledge of what the agency is doing) and [textspeak!] rin mablacklist ang agency.

so ako, to be sure, ako na mismo nagapply sa embassy. better tiisin ang haba ng pila kaysa mablacklist ako.

or, gawin niyo ang ginawa ng tita ko, nag hongkong muna sila para may stamp sa passport, bago nagapply ng china visa para kunting requirements lang kailangan

September here in shanghai would be warm, not super hot not cold pero tama lang...Hmm taga Old shanghai(Puxi) ako so feeling ko mas okay dito when it comes to shopping..although medyo naghihigpit na dito ngayon because of expo 2010, ok parin naman, actually halos pareho lang sa pudong

TIP: kapag nagshop kayo sa mga bazaar or sa mga outlets at binigyan kayo ng price, lets say 100 RMB dapat tumawad kayo ng 50% kasi pag foreigner malaki [textspeak!] ang price na ibibigay sainyo so better na tumawad ka ng malaki din lalo na pag gusto nyo yung item na yun,, strategy pa nga namin eh kunyari aalisan niyo bigla yung store kasi nga mahal masyado,, pero hahabulin naman kayo more often than not nung mga nagtitinda

sis, i saw yung post mo regarding the requirements para sa Visa. Me, my mom and my brother is visiting my dad in china this october.. mag dodock kasi yung ship nila dun. U mentioned SSS Id is needed. I work at home and wala akong SSS ID.. is it really required? Parents ko yung gagastos for the trip so i still need to show din my employment certificate?

anyway, who will be in china this october.. wala pa kong date though pero mga after Oct 15. Wala lang, gusto k olang ng kasama magshopping.. wala kasi tyaga parents ko eh.

^you work at home meaning you work sa family business or parang you have your own business at home?

if parents mo gagastos for your trip, provide sponsorship letter from your parents and their bank certificate.

and meron NEW REQUIREMENTS AGAIN! sumasakit na rin ulo ko. yun requirements that I posted above, dati for first time travellers lang. Ngayon, all the requirements required for those FIRST TIME TRAVELLER TO MAINLAND CHINA. So kahit na may US visa or schengen visa or other first world country visa ka, if first time mo mag China, you need to provide ALL the requirement posted above.

Better check sa bulletin board sa embassy. Sa website kasi and answering machine hindi pa updated

hello everyone! we're planning a trip to china! In Beijing and Shanghai to be exact. Which places should we go to? i want to see the great wall and forbidden city!

Saan ba maganda magshop in shanghai and beijing? Saan ba itong outlet na toh? Ano ano ang mga binebenta dito sa OUTLET? meron ba dito mga designer overruns and factory defects or last seasons? i googled some shopping tips in china, a lot said na magandang magshop sa shenzhen... The same lang ba mga goods na makikita sa shenzhen and on shanghai and beijing?

And lastly, mga ilang days kaya ang travel date namin? Ok na kaya ang 10-12 days or bitin pa? hehe we want to go sightseeing and of course shopping!

what are the exact places that you want to visit in Beijing and Shanghai? 10-12 days in beijing and shanghai only can be too much. Better give us an idea on the places that you want to visit.

Re: Shopping, sa experience ko, masmahal sa China if mga branded compare dito sa pinas. I'm not sure lang sa mga China brands. Sikat sila sa mga fake branded stuff din (sa beijing meron). Sa shanghai, may Outlet Store. Branded talaga, cheaper (e.g. the bra I bought sa CK doon, mga P1000 lang each. sa CK dito sa pinas, mga P1300++ or more ata) I'm not sure lang if last season yun mga stuff sa Outlet Stores. Sa shenzhen, I can't comment kasi I never went shopping there before. Pero based sa mga friends ko who've been to shenzhen, usually they go there to buy wholesale stuff and sell them back again here in Pinas.

suggestions sa mga places to go in beijing & shanghai (but I can't say na worth it lahat yan, depends sa tao talaga):

Beijing - Great wall, forbiddent city, tiananmen square, temple of heaven, old summer palace, summer palace, hohai park, beihai park, silk street (for fake branded stuff shopping), beijing zoo, wangfujing shopping (kaso mahal dito), acrobat show, grand national stadium, olympic village

Shanghai - museums (lots of them, research na lang sa net), Outlet store, pudong area (oriental tv tower, 88th floor building, WFC), xintiandi, day trip or 2 days trip to Hangzhou (hangzhou is only around 1-2 hours away from Shanghai), water towns

Try Motel168 and Jinjiang Inn Hotels. They're almost everywhere. They're not super nice but they're cheap and clean.
