Hi, I tried using the ilog maria saddle soap and leather balsam on my LV's. So far so good. After using the soap, naglighten and nag even out ang vachetta. Hindi naman super dry pero they looked matte after drying so I applied the balsam. The vachetta got one shade darker but the shine was back and it felt more moisturized. Of course, mas naging visible na yung cracks sa handles ng speedy ko but the balsam made it less obvious. I wish I took photos though!

Nakakaaddict mag linis ng bag with the saddle soap hehe. I used a soft cloth to apply the saddle soap at pag pinipiga mo, kita yung dirt and grime ng bag. Mahirap lang mag-apply nung balsam kasi hindi even ang pahid ko so medyo parang hindi na ulit pantay ang patina ng base ng noe gm ko. I'll check again tonight baka naabsorb na yung balsam.

its probably just a bit dry. get some leather conditioner for it.

i use alcohol free wet wipes  to clean my bags. if i don't have these, i use regular ones, wash out the alcohol, and put leather cleaner/conditioner.

What brand of leather conditioner do you use sis?

I use Apple Brand cleaner and conditioner for most bags, especially colored ones and LVs.

and Tanner's Preserve leather conditioning cream (yep, the one from Ace Hardware used mostly for leather car seats) for heavier leather bags.

Yes, that's a common problem with Balenciaga, though some people prefer the "aged" and"worn" look. I have an anthracite that's pretty faded and I'm considering getting it dyed. Doctor Leather will do it for 5,500 if same color, 6,500 if different color. I'm still on the fence though as I'm worried they will destroy it.

I tried conditioning the bag using Leather Honey and it evened out some of the faded areas, but the fading is still pretty noticeable.

didn't get my bags checked in at herjas today. Suggestion nila is recolor the leather of my Noe to a lighter color which will be permanent. So it will no longer patina ganun na sya forever. And as a result of the coloring, the stitching magiging kasing color na ng leather which is off for me. Or i have the option to have the stitching changed to the same color ng original thread, which is ayoko naman kasi hindi na sya kumbaga original parts. Plus the stitching naman of my bag is intact pa so sayang naman if papalitan nila. Price is 4500 pwede na but i backed out kasi nakita ko on display yung isang speedy nila na recolored, hindi ko gusto kasi halatang paint and yung red sa sides hindi din pulido ang gawa, so looks fake to me.

My other bags, calf leather and suede, recolor din ang suggestion nila instead of cleaning lang sana. Didn't expect na need na sila irecolor kasi wala naman fading. Just dry on some parts i think. 4500 din per bag. Worried ako baka they might destroy the leather and the overall look of my bags because of the paint. So no. Will have them checked sa doctor leather next time.

Parang na scrape kasi yung pointed ends niya. And the sole naman nagkaroon ng butas butas appearance kakalakad ko sa sandy or cobbled streets.

About the questions on bag doctors/spa you can actually search their Facebook pages and send them pictures of your bags and ask for quotation. They will give you an estimate so at least you have an idea on how much it will cost to get your bags fixed.

I sent the following bag spa stores messages and most of them replied to me fairly quickly:

1. Bag Rx
2. Vintage Restore
3. Lovin' My Bags
4. Doctor Leather - no reply
5. Besa's - no reply

Lovin' My Bags quoted Php2,700 for the LV cleaning only and I was told that they don't fix the zipper. I am having issues with the zipper 😁. I was told that they can do restoration of the LV bag since there is a hole on the piping. But I was informed that if they do it, the color on LV has a tendency to peel since LV vachetta leather is naturally a naked type of leather. The restoration with cleaning is Php3,700.00. For my vintage Cartier Happy Birthday Bordeaux Patent leather backpack, the estimate is Php4,400-4,800.00

As for Bag Rx, their LV restoration services starts at Php4,500.00. It includes vachetta recoloring, monogram cleaning and metal polishing. They will give you free leather cleaner and protector as after-restoration care. But for my bag they will have to see it to assess the actual cost and what needs to be done. Also, if the vachetta is cracked and brittle, they wont do any restoration. They can't fixed the zipper as well but I was told that they can look into it if they can work something out. For the vintage Cartier, medyo wala naman prob. Kelangan lang cleaning. And since its patent leather they cannot redye daw so they did not give me any estimates.

Vintage Restore wins the best in customer service award. The owner, Miss Trisha, was the one who replied and answered my questions. She also told me to let her know which branch I intend to visit so she can be there to help me out.

Its a big plus that its the only store also which gave me hope that they can get my bag fixed... Syempre for a pricey price 😊. The LV bag vachetta will be replaced as its already cracked and brittle. Her quotation for this is Php6,859.00-7,850.00 less 20% discount for the retouching and removing of stain. Medyo not really comfy with getting the vachetta replaced though even with the uneven patina.😁. For my fave Cartier bag, if the patent leather is still strong to be redyed, the estimate is Php8,500.00 less 20% for the retouching and removing of stain.

No reply from Doctor Leather and Besa's as of the moment. Will post an update once they do.

My brother got some Gucci bags repaired/restored sa Doctor Leather. Nasa around 3k binayaran nya for cleaning and another 3k for color restore. (Will recheck the receipt for specific services na kasama)
