Talaga thailand? Parang I like the idea. When I visited kasi the place, kahit hindi cia sobrang ganda, nagustuhan ko cia. Anyone here who's interested also? I just graduated nung april and gusto ko na talaga umalis. I'm not sure if having a tourist visa for US gives one an edge to get a job kaagad, so i'm looking for other options..

I'm from NZ, hubby ko nurse dito. You have to have at least 1 year hospital experience, pass the IELTS which is 7.0 (7.5 na yata ngayon) in all bands, not just the total score and take the bridging course for two months which will cost you around NZ$4,000. si bf, 3 years na sa US and RN siya dun. recession talaga ngayon dun, kahit yung hospital nila magtatanggal na ng mga RN and ibang employees.haaaaaaaay...
2005 pa ko graduate, andito parin ako sa pinas. waaaaaaaaaa,gusto ko na nga mag middle east na lang sana, pero ayaw ni boyfie..

hi.. i have been reading NVQ programs that some agencies offer.. any UK nurses here? kailangan ba talaga itong NVQ? nabasa ko sa UK thread na hindi naman ito kailangan.. so bakit ito yung ino-offer ng ibang agencies? tapos you have to study there for 2 years while working.. money making lang ba ito? thank you po sa mga magre-reply..

^Sis yung mga NVQ programs- mga short courses sila that you can take for you to get to UK.  Kung balak mong maging nurse sa UK, you don't have to take that, kasi more of pang-care giving ang mga course.   While enrolled, you could work pero for a limited number of hours per week lang (20 hours only dahil student visa holder but others illegal na nagwowork more than 20 hrs. kung makakahanap sila ng mga employer na okay lang sa kanila).  Others, pinapatulan yung ganitong scheme para lang makaalis, they take the risk, but they don't work there as nurses, they work there as caregivers under a student visa.  After two years, under the new law na kakalabas lang (post-study work visa), pwede nila extend yung visa nila for another two years to give them a chance to work there- kaya lang nga as a caregiver ka pa din unless and until masatisfy mo yung mga requirements sa UK as a nurse which I posted sa kabilang thread.

     Hindi naman kasi basta-basta kumukuha ng nurse ang mga European countries outside their union kaya medyo complicated yung process, unlike sa US na NCLEX, IELTS, and CG lang okay na.

     Oh and by the way, they are paid at a rate of around P500 per hour only.  Kaya as what most of them say, if you have a lot of money to spare, okay na din kesa naman nakatambay sa Pilipinas.

I think this program is totally different from the NVQ programs. I am a bit skeptic though to try this route as it does not promise nursing positions upon completion of the program. What do you think fellow rns?

^ i attended 3rd phil nurses' expo.. na-discuss ang NVQ.. sa pagkaka-intindi ko.. NVQ as what others refer to as NOT VERY QUALIFIED.. as a registered nurse, i don't need to undergo NVQ.. all i need is ONP to practice nursing in UK.. kaya sila nag-o-offer ng NVQ for you to be able to get a student's visa and at the same time work for a limited time.. sabi nga nung 1 girltalker, kung may means ka then go for it.. naisip ko din after ng expo na marami pang choices for newly graduate nurses na walang experience.. sad to say.. its middle east..

just in case may interested sa NCLEX new york application process.. like me.. but not anymore.. because i'll be taking vermont na lang.. i saw this sa 1 forum and i find it really helpful.. here it goes:

for NY, you need to apply for credentials verification service (CVS-NY) thru cgfns. processing time is 6-8 mos fee is $350. download the application handbook from this site:
www.cgfns.org/sections/prog/cred-ny.shtml all the instructions you need for CVS are in that handbook.
when CVS report has reached NYSED, you can send NY FORM 1 to NYSED with the fee. the link is:
www.op.nysed.gov/nurseforms.htm wait for the eligibility from NYSED. processing time is 2 months.
when you receive eligibility, register with pearson vue online for your ATT. then, you call pearson vue for your test date. after passing the exam, finish the online course on child abuse reporting and submit proof to NYSED. the link is:
www.op.nysed.gov/nursing.htm then, you will receive license card. then, you apply for visascreen certificate thru cgfns.
go to: www.cgfns.org/sections/prog/visa.shtml download the application handbook for visascreen and read the instructions. visascreen also requires IELTS or TOEFL pass score. processing time for visascreen is 2 to 3 months if documents are complete. when you start to practice in NY, finish online course on infection control and submit proof to NYSED. same link as above. goodluck!

May nakita po ako sa website 15 months program lang sya then you can take NCLEX na. Ok lang kaya to? Magstart sila ng class sa january.

Alam nyo mga sis... hirap talga kung US ang target nyo, nagseminar na kami ng friend ko sa ibat ibang agency and it seem like you really have to take many exams pagkatapos nun kung through agency hahanapan ka ng employer at kung akala mo aalis ka agad kpag may employer na hindi parin you have to wait for the lifting of retrogression para magkavisa ka at kung nalift nga tapos di ka naman inabutan ng quota wala rin antay ka uli....hay nako hirap kaya nga kahit middle east papatulan ko na kesa naman tambay lang dito sa pinas at least dun kapag nkapag ipon ka na pwede ka mag apply sa canada mabilis lang daw sabi ng tita ng bf ko nurse din yun ngayon nasa canada na pati family nya....

I am graduating nursing student this coming March. My american-citizen bf filed for fiance visa for me and we plan to get married as soon as we arrive in America. Do i need to take the local board exam to work as a nurse in California? Or I can skip the local board and just take the NCLEX in California?
