1st birthday party without games or program

hi! my baby will be turning 1 next month at medyo nakakaguilty dahil wala pa kong napprepare na anything. i'm only 20 so malamang yung mga kaibigan ko wala namang kids masyado and medyo we're not into kiddie games. most guests will be my mom and dad's friends. meron konting kids pero i'm not in the "mood" to host some games and stuff. mayroon kaya kayong idea na activity na pwedeng yung kids lang yung maglaro on their own? and do you have suggestions on what type of place should i get? TIA!

sis first and foremost magkano ang budget mo and ilan ang expected guests? tapos saka tayo mag suggest ng venue at activities...

share ko lang ha...may baby's turning 1 this august...i rented a venue with in-house caterer to save on my budget..kase if with in-house catering, waived na usually ang venue rental...specifically sa One San Miguel Building sa Ortigas...capacity nun is 100pax...i have 100 adults and 10 kids in all...i hired alex lagula as party host...sya na bahala sa program from start to finish so wala nako problem...he was recommended by sis emie as the appropriate host for my audience...magkano ba budget tapos we'll work out from there...

or look for a jollibee, mcdo or any fastfood restaurant na may play area for the kids...

 I agree with kixe, may mga venue who offer na to facilitate yung program or you can hire a professional host and sya na rin bahala sa program... like mcdo and jollibee may mga party package na rin na may hosting na din ng games with prizes pa...

depende talaga sa budget mo yan.....

Parehas tayo ng "mood" nung nag 1st bday daughter ko. Describe ko na lang ginawa ko kahit hindi ko pa alam budget mo sis. I chose a venue na komportable kami ng husband ko at alam ko na maayos ang food para at least sa area na yun wala na ako problema. Sa bizu sa greenbelt 2 kami kasi pag may salo-salo kami 1st option lagi dun. Kaunting art activities para sa 5 kids na imbitado. Simpleng game (palakasan kumanta ng happy bday song) na lahat sila panalo tuwa na yung mga bata. Yung 1 ninang na nagho-host talaga sa corporate events ang emcee nung kinailangan may maghost sandali sa harap. Ginawa ko nilimit ko sa 1.2k/head dapat lang budget/magagasto ko kasi 60pax lang naman yung bisita. Simple yung party pero hindi tipid. Kumbaga ibinagay ko sa "mood" na walang games at program kasi nga gaya mo wala rin masyadong bata na kakilala mula sa closest friends

^ sis same tayo. my baby will be having her 1st bday this july 7, thats 3 weeks from now. like u i dont have that much friends na may anak nya, so mostly adults ang visitors ko.

nag-online research lang muna ako now. inisip ko any venue na may playground sa loob (except mc do and jollibee) then hire na lang ako ng mascot na dora (baby recognizes her already)

nung nag 1 yr old baby ko wala rin program, actually adult reception talaga nakalagay sa invitation, sa wasabi makati ave yung venue, tapos hinire  ko si jeffrey tam to do close up  magic sa mga bisita. Babawi nalang ako sa 7th birthday niya.

I am on the same boat, wala rin kming host so I have to do it all and no time na talga to create my own script.  i want something na i could just edit na lang. Thanks in advance!

hay ako yata ang mas dapat maguilty, next week na bday ni baby, 1st bday wala pako napiprepare, di ko kasi alam uunahin ko dahil parang di kami naeexcite maghanda pero syempre sobrang excited kami sa pag one year old niya.  Sa bday niya mismo magdidinner nalang kami, si hubby, si baby ako at mama ko.  Reasons why parang di kami excited maghada are as follows:

una -  kasi tight budget namin kaya sana sa mcdo kaso burger meal lang pwede i order,
pangalawa - walang bisitang bata kasi wala naman kami sa pinas puro matatanda lang ang pupunta,
pangatlo - di ko alam paano pagkakasayahin mga bisita kasi maliit lang place namin.

pero mag aayos parin ako,mglalagay decors para kahit papaano maaliw si baby ko.

Nung umuwi kami sa pinas nagcelebrate kami ng 9months niya, sobra happy kasi dami bata at may mga games pa.  Kaya nagsosorry nalang kami kay baby na sa 1year bday niya wala nalang games at mga kids na visitors, bawi nalang ulet kami.

ganito rin situation ko ngayon. excited ako na 1st bday nya na pero wala kaming gana maghanda. una, abah, mahirap pera ngayon, whatever we have saved feeling ko mahirap ng maaccumulate ulit pag inubos namin sa party. si hubby lang pa naman ang may work ngayon. pangalawa, wala kaming kids na guest, i just turned 24, all of my friends wala pang anak. as in all, kumusta naman yun di ba  the youngest in our family pa is 10 yrs.old, i doubt if he'll enjoy a tot's party. pangatlo and i think the main reason-well at least for me- my mom who's only 43 died lof cancer late last year. i think the whole family is still grieving kaya halos di napapagusapan ang paghahanda. yung birthday kasi ng baby ko eh 2 days away lang from my mom's birthday sana. so siguro handa na lang kami ng konti house, family and friends lang, parang thanksgiving party na lang ang dating. of course there will be cake, balloons, tarp and simple party deco pero no clowns or games or whatsoever. kahit giveaways wala ako sa mood magasikaso. sabi ko kay baby, bawi na lang next year, anyway yung binyag nya naman kinarir ko yung pagcelebrate

ako din, yung third 1st birthday celebration ng daughter ko dito sa Singapore walang program.

hehe there were 5 kids attended pero pag dating nila sa house, nilaro na lang mga laruan ng anak ko tapos nag aaway na dun sa sala, agawan! pero may prepared loot bags pa din ako pra pag uwi may bitbit pa din. tapos i prepared candy corner sa table for everyone habang nag aantay ng start ng kainan may finger foods sila.

since we're saving up for our own house, tight ang budget namin. we will have 20 kids, 5yrs old and below sa party. since toddlers pa sila, i'm thinking of puppetshow or getting gymboree (mahal nga lang) as their entertainment. no use in getting a magician or ventriloquist kasi i dont think ma-aappreciate nila yun.

we have 100 adult guests but i dont think there's a need for entertainment for them. magpapacater lang siguro kami ng merienda.

Sis, mura lang puppet show.  We had Roppets do a puppet show for the 1st birthday of my sons (in addition to magic show of Alex L.).  3 acts yun - Sesame Street, Barney and Winnie the Pooh & Friends.  Not sabay-sabay though kasi boring pag ganoon.  Dapat may intervals between the puppet acts.  May ibang choices pa, you can choose pa but those are the most popular.  P3500 lang and kasama na the set-up, music and puppeteers.    The kids and adults really enjoyed the puppet show.

Puwede rin storytelling if walang program.  Museo Pambata has storytellers who can read at kiddie parties.

i'm also torn nga on what to do for my baby's 1st bday. i wanted an intimate gathering coz, from what i heard, the 1st bday is more for the parents than the baby coz di pa nya maaalala to. we're planning on having a party for about 50 adults with less than 10 kids. i'm not sure whether to get entertainment pa or just get yun mga little tikes na slides and gyms for the kids to play in. if i get entertainment naman, what kind? 

hope you can help me make up my mind. TIA

It depends on the age of the kids who will attend the party.  If they're toddlers and pre-schoolers, they will enjoy having those little tikes and bounce type of toys, a bubble show, puppet show, storytelling or a Gymboree party.  If the kids are older, they want more action - games, magic show.  A good host who can do magic tricks or ventri is another option.  Bear in mind that kids are easy to please but they have short attention span so activities should not take so long; otherwise, they'll get bored or over-stimulated.

Haha, I don't like Barney too but Roppets encouraged me to get Barney show kasi bestseller daw nila.     Personally, I like the Sesame Street act.  Sup[er hit with the kids and adults (my officemates loved it).  Yung Pooh, payat haha but that was the party theme kaya pinagpilit ko talaga na may Pooh.

sis, since konti lang naman sila, prepare ka na lang individual activity packs.  prepare a kiddie table where all 3 of them can sit together. lagay ka ng crayons, coloring book, building blocks ( u can get them for less than p20 ). in the middle of the table lagay ka na din ng mga assorted goodies like bite seize choco bars and candies. 

im sure your baby got toys, in one corner, lay-out ka ng puzzle mats or a blanket or foldable mat where the kids can slump on the floor and put all the toys dun.

make sure lang to give them individual lootbags
