NZ peeps anyone?

hi sis kuruga... it's really hard to find a job sa nz if wala ka work permit. based on experience when we were there last 2009, strict sila masyado sa evidence ng work permit mo. even ako since i was on student visa and entitled to work 20 hrs a week, hiningan pa ako ng variation of condition ba yun from the immigration na dapat stated talaga na allowed ako ng part time work. and hubby as well, who was on work permit, yan ang una nilang hinahanap or tinatanong nung nag apply pa lang cya ng work. kaya bihira ang mag TNT dun kasi kung illegal alien ka, wala ka talga makukuhang work.

@sis spongebob - so almost full na pala ang bridging schools dyan? I would like to apply pa naman sana for 2012.

Mga sisses share ko lang experience ng sister ko...she's a nurse now sa NZ, medyo akam ko kase mga pinagdaanan nya kase involve din ako sa pag-aayos ng mga documents nya.

RN ang sister ko dito sa Pinas, may experience sya sa hospital then naging company nurse sya sa Iceland, nung nasa Iceland sya nag-ipon talaga syang mabuti kase Euro kita nya dun.

Then nagdecide sya to try her luck sa NZ, may kinuha syang agency dito sa Pinas para padala nga sya NZ, pinadala sya dun na student visa ang hawak nya, wala kaming relatives dun kaya lakasan talaga ng loob.Pagdating nya dun, nag schooling sya ng ilang buwan...wala sya work kase student visa nga, lahat ng gastos sagot nya kaya talagang ang laki ng nagastos nya. After ng schooling/training, nagkawork na sya, mismong yung school na yung magbibigay ng papasukan nya, pero Hindi as RN as caregiver muna...ang dami nya pang exam na kinuha at requirements na pinasa bago pa sya naging RN dun, as in daming hiningi Nurse Council sa NZ, ako ang taga ayos na hinihinging requirements dito sa Pinas, may mga kinuha ako sa school nya, sa dati nyang pinagtatrabahuhan, sa DFA, embassy, pati nga NBI clearance na updated hiningan kami, eh hirap kumuha nun kase nga wala sya dito Pinas...may pagakakataon na akala namin okay na mga requirements then bigla may additional na naman... madugo talaga...

Sa ngayun RN na sya at may permanent resident na, very thankful kami kasi laki talaga ng hirap at ginastos ng ate ko...sinusubukan naman nya ngayun mag-apply sa Australia, kase nandun relatives ng hubby nya, para dun na nila plan mag stay mag-asawa...

^^sis sahjane if student visa/permit ka for 2 yrs na schooling, entitled husband mo ng work visa with the same validity as your visa. and yes, sabay kayo makakaalis as long as hindi siya magka problema sa medical exam (xray etc). and entitled ka to work 20 hrs per week. better check nyo na sa form yung part where you apply for variation of condition ba yun so you won't have to apply for it when you get to nz (this vriation of condition will stipulate na allowed ka to work 20 hrs per wk, then full time work on holidays).

sis, check mo sa website ng immigration ng nz what courses are in demand. how long is the early childhood education? 3 yrs ba? coz in my case, i enrolled in bachelor of nursing at wintec sa hamilton. since RN ako here, credited some subjects ko so 2 1/2yrs nlang sana. kung natapos ko yun, no need to take CAP anymore for me. kasi if same no. of yrs lang sis, much better siguro nursing na rin kunin mo. sure ka pa pagnatapos mo, makakakuha ka talaga ng work. 18NZD din ang 1 yr tuition.

sis, aside from 18KNZD na tuition fee.. magkano lahat expenses ( PF, lodging visa & show money ).. cash ba babayaran ang tuition?

ohh ok sis, magkano ang 18KNZD in pesos? how much ang show money na kailangan and as dependents kasama ba hubby & anak- allowed kaya nila yun? i have no idea kasi pag NZ.. ang alam ko lang pag sa UK student visa.. thank you sis... '

mga sis, what if I'm a nurse with 2 years work experience in a tertiary hospital. I'm planning to apply to new zealand. Do I need to study for a year? kasi I heard na may bridging program sa mga schools na 6-8weeks lang, tapos after that you can apply for a job na. I dont have any relatives there kasi, so if i'll be studying for a year or two using my own money, wow, negative na ata for NZ...

I've done some research on NZ these past few days kasi I thought of migrating their after finishing our ME stint. Kaso sa forums madami nagsasabi NZ was affected by the recession. So dati, okay pa yung visit to work visa pero ngayon hindi na daw. Sa nurses naman daw naghigpit na, you really need to study there and hindi din basta-basta ang acceptance. I don't have the links pero you can type Filipinos in New Zealnd sa google, second entry ata dun eh sa forums. Nag-back-read ako ng bongga and you can see the trend talaga from 08 to 2011 medyo mahirap na. Pero everyone there still says na between sa Pinas and NZ, NZ na sila. Investment lang talaga to go there.

sis rikki21, you can apply sa nursing council ng nz so you can take the bridging program (CAP) which usually lasts 6-8weeks, depending on the school. upon commencement, wait ka lang ng few weeks then makukuha na yata NZ RN license.

as for life in nz, while we were there, we lived in Hamilton. around 3 hrs drive from auckland. nag rent kami ng 1 bedroom flat fully furnished, covered na electricity and free naman kasi water sa hamilton. weekly rent was NZ$300. then average weekly grocery for hubby and then 8 month old baby ha was around NZ$100 per week. hindi na budgetted ang grocery namin nyan...with chips, soda, ice cream, chocs, milk, diaper ni baby and other necessities. as long as meron isa if couple kayo na may work, i think you can manage in NZ. but if you have kids, medyo mas expensive talaga.

im planning to apply din sana sa nursing registration for NZ. kaso sabi nila sobrang punuan na daw mga school dun at medyo wala na daw shortage ng nurses dun? anyone po from NZ, pwede po enlighten kami? thanks!

^hi sis...may shortage pa naman din ng nurses in nz, but yes, punu.an na ang schools who are offering the bridging program for international registered nurses. hindi lang naman kasi filipinos ang nandun... marami din indians who are taking the BP. then most schools also offer this BN-RN program wherein those taking this course, upon commencement, need to undergo the bridging program para ma NZ RN. So they give priority to these students.

May earthquake recently, I think it was yesterday sa NZ. Immigration website sa NZ sabi:

Christchurch branch closed following earthquake

Immigration New Zealand’s (INZ’s) visa processing centre in Crystal Plaza in Cathedral Square is closed until further notice following Tuesday’s earthquake.

People whose visas are about to expire should call the INZ contact centre (0508 55 88 55) for advice as to where to send their applications.

People whose passports are being held by INZ in Christchurch pending extension of a visitor visa or other visa and who now wish to leave New Zealand should call the contact centre.

We would like for my sisters to apply here in NZ as a nurse. They are RN sa atin. It looks like mas madaling maka apply sila dito. Kasi yung petition sa US will take, forever pa before maging current.

-What are the ways for them to do? Steps?
-Magkano ang magagastos?
-May agency kayo alam that will process this?
-The process time is how long?
-What are the requirements?
-Can they come there as a tourist then apply? How much is the show money?

Sis Lyn...  check ninyo sa www.workabroad.com.ph kasi daming opening ng mga nurses dun tas one of the requirements is ielts... at least 2 years experience sa hospital... para sure sis check na lang okay sis

^Thanks for that link sis. I'll let my sister look there. My cousin is going to travel dyan sa NZ this coming March 15. Ang dali lang nakuha yung visa nya.  Wala lang 1 week okay na. Her hubby to be yung nag petition sa kanya. Sobrang bilis not like sa US super bagal.
