dapat makatarget ka atleast 100kilo a day para safe ka na sa utilities mo. but as u start jackpot na makakuha ka ng ganyan kadami. ok lang kung konti pa lang kasi taken na kakaumpisa mo pa lang.

2.  Ano dapat advantage ko over other laundry shops?
as i said, u must be very good in promoting your shop. baybayin mo [textspeak!] buong kapaligiran mo sa kakapamigay ng flyers mo para makilala ka. give them promo materials. and your service must be with real quality ha or else di ka na babalikan ng mga yan.

3.  How much pasweldo sa tauhan?  Current minimum wage ba dapat?
salary would really depends on you. if u want to apply the minimum salary wage law, go! but take note salaries is negotiable naman. if u want to give them free lodging and food well, too much naman kung nagsisimula ka palang eh mataas na pasweldo mo. it really depends.

4.  Gaano kabilis dapat makuha ng customer ang pinalabhan nya?
pwedeng same day service or 2 days after. pero syempre iba ang rate ng same day at ng 2 days service.


by the way, when do u plan to open ba? manila area lang din ako one ride away from divi. sometimes i go to divi for some supplies.

We just acquired the place this week.  Rent lang.  So after pa-renovate, most probably we (with my brother) can start by May.

Are second hand machines advisable for starters or better talaga na brand new?

second hand machines will do as long as they are all in good running conditions. later ka na bumili ng brand new pag madami ka ng tanggap.

*magkano magagastos for permits? Magtatayo sana ako sa area namin, bago pumasok sa subdivision namin kasi wala pang gantong business eh.

*Pwede ba na heavy duty washing machine muna ang gamitin since mag sstart lang naman muna ako para kapag di nagwork, hindi masyado masakit.

expenses on permits depends kung san ka located. mine is in qc.

- brgy.clearance  p500, depende sa area
- dti is around p165+ lang (u could apply online). Be ready with many names para sa shops mo kasi proposed names could be rejected dahil me kapareho o katunog.
- bir is 500 for the registration, plus me documentary stamp pa (mura lang yun, but i can't remember how much). if u want, para mas mabilis [textspeak!] service, dun ka na rin pagawa ng JOB ORDER booklets and OR's, me mga nag-ooffer dun. Pero go for the min.number of booklets/receipts muna kasi medyo pricey sila compared to other printers. btw, bring nyo din contract of lease nyo.
- sa municipal permits naman, ul spend around 3k-5k all in na un (locational, electrical, fire, etc.). me mga fixers dun, pero don't get their services, kasi although mabilis, kulang pa rin yung mga documents mo, na eventually pag nag-renew ka, kakailanganin mo rin. Just be ready with the picturesof your shop, in and out for the locational clearance, also yung contract of lease pala. Sa fire, they will inspect your shop, 2-7 days after you made the application.

anyway, i read na 100k lang roughly ang capital, kasama na ba dito yung machine? so ang puhunan lang talaga is the washing machin and dryer?

yung mga damit ba lahat pinpatuyo sa dryer or sinsampay din nyo?

1 pair of machines (washer & dryer) will cost u around 70k. (if its brand new). 37k na ata ang isang whirlpool washer, gas dryer is 34 or 35k na ata.

plus signage - single face lighted signage ata is 300-450 per sq./ft. double face lighted signage is 400-700 ata per sq./ft.

laundry racks, counter table - pede ka magpagawa ng wood or you could buy [textspeak!] steel racks(mine cost around 4k ata, pero that was 2005 pa.)

laundry baskets, weighing scale, ironing board, flat iron

repair cost - electrical, plumbing, etc.

supplies - powder, fabric softener, fabric spray, bleach, stain removers, laundry plastics, hangers.

water pump - (kung malakas pressure sa area mo, u you could do without this na.)

Be careful sa pag-handle ng customer complaints, yan ang malimit na downfall ng mga new laundry. Make sure highly trained ang staff nyo.

i am encouraging my friend to put up laundry shop, kaso nauuna yung "what ifs" nya kesa i-try muna, in short mahina ang loob. kaya ako na lang siguro mag-start ng laundry shop once ok na yung naumpisahan ko na business

at least nadagdagan yung ideas ko re laundry shop business thanks to everyone! i'm really hoping to start one eh. just to share lang, meron dito sa amin na wash, dry and fold lang. i think ordinary machines lang yung meron siya kaya minsan yung dry and fold medyo gusot pa din. pero mukhang marami rin nagpapalaba kasi lagi puno yung shop niya ng mga clothes eh....

in demand pa din ang laundry shops sa iba't ibang locations. pero for starters be sensitive and well-mannered na hindi komo malakas ang laundry sa kapitbahay nyo eh dapat magtayo na din kayo, distansya lang ng konti or else war ang aabutin ng pasok ng laundries nyo. hindi na advisable ngayon ang magkakalapit na laundry shops, code of ethics nlng din.

yes, dats true. have some ethics. it happened to me, sa isang branch ko. talagang dikit kami. as in dingding lang pagitan. walang ethics yung lessor. di kami binigyan ng protection (kumare ko pa) and yung owner ng new laundry, sobrang tuso..... hay hay hay!!!!

i had a shop for four years. ok naman ang takbo. after two years of operation may nagopen sa kabilang dulo ng street same side of the block within that block dalawa kame which ako lang talaga nung una. may water station sya kaya siguro he decided to open up a laundry shop. continuously operating kame till time comes na hindi na malaman ng customer kung kanino pupunta talaga. hindi man kame nagkaron ng price war pero may customer war. we recieve complaints na, other laundries gives very poor services kaya daw sila lumilipat or somthing like that. as an owner, i don't know if i will like the statements i heard bka mamya mga paninira lang un. hindi talaga maganda kahit ako masasaktan in behalf of other laundry owners. until i decided to go out of the country and sell my units. at least wala na sya kalaban sa territory namin. solo na nya ang market. minsan kasi ang hirap lunukin ng sitwasyon na hindi ganun kalaki ang market pero u keep trying to exist. hindi na talaga maganda.

as starter choose for quality location wag nyo kalabanin yung mga existing na at tatabihan nyo pa.

sisters, DH and I are also planning to start a laundry business and I am so happy to come across this thread  what is the ideal size kaya of your shop dapat? also, what do you girls think of a pick up station? since we have a huge space here at home for equipments etc., we were also thinking na sa bahay nalang gawin the laundry then parang pick-up station nalang yung laundry shop.

^the idea would be much appropriate. make use of your huge space at home instead of renting a big location to make it as a fully operating shop. less overhead. small space is enough for a pick up station.

sana by last week of aug makapag start na ako. near lang saamin yung place, the rent would be 2300 per month. inclusive of water and electricity. parang mas okay nga if i will rent a small place then sa house nalang yung washing process itself. i will buy 2nd hand washing machines and gas dryers.

sana maging ok lahat. kinakausap ko pa lang yung may ari nung place. kalookan (fairview part kami) and nag ocular ako walang laundry shop na malapit sa place namin. kung meron man mga 10 minutes pa ang biyahe.
