Discussion on DSL/Internet Service Providers

Hi, does anyone know how long the waiting time is to have a PLDT phone with DSL connected? I'm getting worried, kasi more than one week na since I passed my application through an agent and hindi pa ako nacocontact uli. Hindi ko alam if my application has been rejected, if kulang requirements, if I need to pay something first, etc. Hay.

Also, maganda kaya ang DSL ng skycable?

share ko lang , kakalagay lang pldt dsl + landline last friday, both hubby and I passed application, mas mauna akong nag pass and yet mas naunang tawagan yung kay hubby kase sa agent siya nag pass. Hindi muna nakabayad nung si hubby, then after 1 week, yung account ko naman ang na approve. So punta kaagad ako sa pldt to pay  the installation fee + partial payment for the modem  (1, 500) kaso nung nandun na ako I found out na mali pala yung plan na nakalagay sa service order nila, so hindi pa pala ako pwedeng magbayad kase hindi daw maeedit sa pc and that I need to wait for their call again, I got pissed off. Few days passed, nagbayad na si hubby nung sa kanya, he made the payment last friday, then yung taga PLDT nag install ng landline nung monday, nagka dialtone kami nung friday then nung hapon dumating yung nagkakabit ng dsl. So far so good mabilis naman ang connection namin.

  hay, bakit ganun. Kami two weeks na since the PLDT application and no word from them yet.

HAY! sa mga nagbabalak na mag PLDT DSL, mag tatlo hanggang sampung isip kayo! kung personal use lang baka pwede niyo pa i-consider kasi meron naman broadband na pwede ipalit habang disconnected DSL niyo PERO kung business tsk tsk tsk. Goodluck to us!

Since November 9 or 10 to present disconnected pa din DSL namin business line to ha kaya talagang nakakagigil!

Nong Nov 9, akala namin oras lang ang bibilangin ng disconnection, so nag mall na lang kame, hinde namin nireport, kasi nangyari na yun the other week where in na-disconnect ng 3 hours ( more / less ).

But from November 10- present we call them ( PLDT ) every single day and guess what? yesterday I called them asked them how may times na ko ngreport aba pang lima pa lang daw yung kausap ko! take note more than once kame tumatawag everyday, umaga at hapon yun.

May nagpunta na na line-man, tech, whatever, twice na wala naman nagawa.

kakainis talaga, wala pa kame one month sa kanila we opened the shop last Oct 18 ata tapos ganito na agad service nila, wala naman dumaan na bagyo, paranaque area kami hindi naman pasig/marikina etc na affected ng sobra, ANO BA MERON at disconnected DSL namin?

^sabihin mo papaputol mo na lang since breach of contract sila. wala pa naman 1 month. tignan mo biglang sisipag yan.

yan ang nakakainis sa PLDT, sobrang pangit ng service.

grabe yung sa house ng parents ko mula nung ondoy hanggang last friday wala sila connection!  5 beses pabalik balik kapatid ko sa pldt para papuntahin aba wala pa rin tinawagan ng daddy ko last friday yung pldt at kinausap yung manager napagalitan nagpapadala ng bill wala naman sila connection ayun buti naman nagawa nung saturday

buti pa yung smart bro namin 3 days after ng ondoy e ok na uli pinatuyo lang mga power supply

naku,plan pa naman namin kumuha nung plan 999 na dsl ng pldt.. wala bang good feedbacks dito sa makati?meron pa naman silang booth nung weekend sa MOA,no cash out,tapos within 5days daw yung connection..

ano ba requirements?

After 7 days bumalik na rin sa wakas yung DSL connection, You might say 7days lang pa la e or okay lang yun 1 week lang naman, pero kapag nasa sitwasyon kayo na walang malinaw na advisory, time-frame or information talagang manggigigil kayo sa inis at galit.

so far, we are happy w/ PLDT...  fast connection and since we're using linksys wireless-N broadband router, mas bumilis pa!

concern ko lang now yung landline, narequest ko na palitan yung unit but i don't know super hina pa din ng reception especially kapag kami yung nitawagan dito sa house!

pwede bang mag-apply ng dsl service sa pldt na walang landline or kailangan apply muna ng landline?thanks..

^thanks sis..we checked nga with pldt,required talaga and landline,since yun yung main service nila
problem lang kasi di namin kailangan ng landline..ano kayang other options?

i'm hating globe right now.. our internet has been intermittent since thur.. usually nagkakaron lang ng connection after midnight just when everyone's asleep already ( i got up last night around 1:30 AM and to my surprise, mabilis ha).. tapos paggising back to no connection.. naka-ilang tawag na din kami sa globe.. it's very frustrating.. my brother uses the internet for law school.. bf uses it for work.. and i use it for farmville hehe.. 

after sooo many calls.. bf couldn't get his nerves under control anymore:

cust rep: sir, may i have your email add?
bf: again?
cust rep: yes sir
bf: pull it out from your record. you have it in front of you.

bf: i do not believe you are having a database upgrade (bf knows made-up lang yung upgrade kuno nila. he should know. Afterall, sya humahawak ng marketing/financial systems nila. they cannot lie to him)

cust rep: we will give you rebate sir.
bf: i do not want a rebate. i want the whole month waived. why? i use this internet for work. can you pay the productivity hours i lost the whole time internet was down? (one month? asa.. panakot lang ni bf yun..  )

cust rep: we usually give it 2-3 days to fix the problem.
bf: can you see in your records how long i've been having this problem? almost a week so it's unacceptable.

mejo nagulat ako kasi napaka-kalmadong tao ni bf. sobrang frustrated lang talaga siguro kaya nagawa magalit. kawawa naman yung customer rep hindi nya naman kasalanan yun. 

sana pag-uwi ko mamaya, up na internet.

i have globe broadband wired modem connection, pwede ko ba palitan ng wifi router? pwede ko ba sya i-setup myself or i need to ask globe to come and change it?

^ we have a wired modem from PLDT naman; si hubby lang nag-ayos kasi technicians don't recommend setting your home a wifi zone... nung kinabit nga nila yung DSL, hindi sinagot yung mga inquiries namin on setting-up.

^bakit di nila ni rerecommend sis? asar nga e kasi nung ni-install yung akin wala ako sa house, alam ko kasi ang offer nila is wireless kaya ako nag avail nagulat lang ako na bakit wired modem sya sa isang pwesto lang tuloy ako and kakaasar ang mga cables. hmmm pano nga kaya...

it's very easy to set up a wireless network.. we bought our belkin wireless a few days and ago and we just set it up ourselves.. in less than 15 mins! the instructions are very easy to follow..

^^ 'cause di ba kapag may router ka, you can connect any wi-fi-ready gadget you have... inividual connection lang daw sila so you won't really get their inputs kahit tumawag ka pa sa CS nila, proven and tested!  yung P999/month na binabayad namin is = to 1 PC lang DAW...  eh goodluck sa PLDT, may 2 laptops pa dito and cellphones LOL ssshhh!
