Don't go for themes for christenings... I sort of have an issue with this kasi the theme is supposedly WELCOME TO THE CHRISTIAN WORLD na and I think anything else will take away from that... plus, yun nga, gastos lang

I also don't think you should spend so much for tokens for ninongs/ninangs... I know some people want to 'appreciate' na pumayag silang mag-ninong but you wouldn't ask them naman din if they weren't close to you right? if you don't see them as role models or whatever?

and yun nga, nobody keeps invites, except maybe the titas and lolas...so just digiscrap one and e-mail them to most of your guests... use the savings for more food

get friends to help... maybe someone can design an invite and tarp layout... someone can do the prayers... someone can read a story... and they can all take pictures din

i'd like to share how i saved up on my daughter's 1st birthday last year.

1) as much as possible, diy everything
diy ang invites ko, lootbags and souvenirs, cupcake tower, guest sheets, etc. sabi nga ng mga sisters natin dito, time to unleash your creative side. research, research, research. surf the internet on your free time.

2) instead of asking for gifts, request nalang kayo ng sasagutin ng family or friends niyo. for example, may kilala yung cousin ko na nagpiprint ng tarp, siya sumagot nun. i just gave him the layout. isa pang example, my sister, asked me ano gusto kong gift for her inaanak, i requested na sagutin niya half ng cupcakes ko.

3) i think mas tipid kung sa resto / fastfood kayo magcecelebrate instead of a venue then catered. doble gastos pag catered kasi you have to pay for the venue AND catering. at least pag sa fastfood (we celebrated sa shakey's), may venue ka na, may food pa.

i think ang pinaka ginastusan lang namin sa birthday are the cupcakes, decors and program. i think we spent less than 30k sa party ng safari girl ko.....

im also preparing for my daughter's 1st bday on January 2011. I saw this Tops Catering. They have a kiddie party package for only 20k, including loot bags, souvenirs, balloons, etc... pls. give me feedback on their service... thanks

yung 20k, for how many pax na yun? ano yung food choices? kasi kung yung iba nga nating mga kasama dito, 15k ang nagastos sa jollibee for 30 pax lang including kids..

^^ sis may nabasa akong thread dati, sa binyag preps yata yun, reklamo sa tops..parang may verbal agreement na yata sila and ayaw pa tanggapin yung bayad sa reservation then couple of weeks before the event, biglang umurong..not the exact kwento..search mo uli dito sis.. hehe

^sa metro manila lang party mo sis? If yes, paki-google mo yan-ple party shop andun contact info ni apple. Ask mo sya baka may host sya alam na medyo malapit sa budget mo may mga mura-mura kasi sya na hosts na alam bukod dun sa mga laging namemention dito sa GT goodluck

layout for tarp ba or invite sis? anyway search mo to sa multiply.. they can make any layout si sis melisse baylosis, charge is 300 for layout.. or siearch mo wittyminds. ke marj of wittyminds naman depends kung ano papalayout mo.. they charge naman 300-500.

pero sa divi i think pag dun ka nagpaprint free na layout nila.. or meron din PPs na if s knila mo pagawa libre rin layout

my tipid tips to moms preparing for their kids' parties is to allot a specific budget. start with the important suppliers first like food, venue and cake. Now yung remaining budget saka nyo i-allot to other party details like decor, giveaways and prizes etc. Kung may host na kayo and may program na sya for the party, no need na for side activities like bubble show, facepainting, glitter tattoo etc. based on my experience, if super galing host nyo carry na nya dalhin yung party ndi na mabore both kids and adults. now if malaki naman budget nyo and pasok pa yung mga nabanggit ko na side activities then go and book sponsorship by godparents and relatives helps as well. wag na mahiya iimpose na agad kasi ganun ginawa ko kaya naka-save kami ng 20k ni hubby hehe

Tipid tips ito sa gaya ko na makulit: kung saan masaya anak nyo (pag mura at simple) at may requests sya, yun na!

Iwasan na yung mga detalye na d rin naman mapapansin ng at makakapagpaligaya sa anak natin, yun tipong gusto lang natin na mapuri tayo na nag-asikaso. Pag ito magawa natin,  laki talaga ng tipid

Mommies, can you give tips how we can save for baptismal? You know hotels who can hold that kind of celebration? It'll be very small party lang talaga and the kid is 2yo narin.

mga sis kakatapos lang ng binyag ng bebe ko kahapon! i had a desert bufet table where  put colorful candies, cupcakes and a choco fountain. suceessful sa kids. dahil dun hindi sila nanggulo masyado kasi focused sila sa sweets hehe.

i bought:
stick-o
small choco chp cookies (can be bought at chocolovers)
lollipops
mini cupcakes
regular size cup cakes
wafer
marshmallows

then i designed the table with balloons, picture frames with her pics.. very nice.

when talking to your party planner or event designer...tell her everything you want na in one sitting, ang tendency po kasi...kapag marami kayong pahabol or additions or may mga ipapabago kayo....mas kaunti ang chance na mabibigyan kayo ng discount.

try to get hold of packages kasi kapag customized mas mahal. you can change swatches of colors naman depending on your theme. Wag matakot mag experiment.
