I totally agree with you sis heaven_scent102, plan early. Kami party ng baby son namin is this coming Dec. Since we know that it will be held during Christmas season where parties are left & right & naturally nagtataas ng prices ang mga party suppliers, as early as April, we have already reserved & made down payments to most of our suppliers para price lock na kami. Now it's Oct, we have fully paid all our party suppliers.

Na-realize ko talaga ang advantage of planning early when a friend of mine is getting the same caterer we will have on our party. When she started to book last week, iba na ang menu price ng caterer compared to us. Sabi ng caterer, usually may price adjustments sila pag 3rd or 4th quarter every year. Eh kami since price locked na kami mula pa noong April, di kami damay sa price increase.

if you're on a themed cartoon character, search the internet first before you go buying the stuff you need for the party.

essentials like nametags, trayliners, invitation cards, thank you cards can be found sa net.

my little girl's 1st birthday party is DORA the EXPLORER but we're celebrating it sa Jollibee. I didn't avail their party hats, trayliners, invitations, thank you cards, nametag.

i found DORA-themed trayliners and nametags from the nick-jr website. all i did is printed them out

back to reading na naman ako dito sa DIY thread.
kung nagagawi ako sa mga multiply sites nyo yun ay dahil nag-uuzi ako ng mga bagong idea. hihi.

sis eidan, borrow ko yung dipped mallows idea mo huh. i like it! 

theme ng bday ng son ko ay jungle safari and i plan to hold it sa park para wala ng venue fee.  nakabili na rin ako ng pang-give-away ko. hindi masyadong DIY ngayon kasi mug siya na merong animal prints. gawan ko na lang siguro ng tags tapos lagyan ng animal biscuits inside.

any suggestion sa activity or games?

sis, wala ako sa pinas eh. pero i remember na meron akong nabiling animal biscuits sa SM supermarket last August noong nagbakasyon kami, just couldn't remember kung anong brand yun. mahilig kasi anak ko sa animal-shaped biscuits kaya naghanap talaga ako.

Plan early and do the shopping early so that pag malapit na ang event, dun ka na mag segregate. Ako I planned early pro yung shopping sa prizes and lootbags during the month na ng birthday kaya medyo yung prizes bili nalang ako ng bili napa out of budget tuloy ako kasi wala ng time to compare prices sa Divi.

And do have some staff with you kung big event sya kasi nangyari samin, yung ibang toys ko for prizes nawala...eh andami sobra yun also some of the lootbags. I prepared 100 lootbags and around 85kids ang dumating so [textspeak!] yung iba kuha nalang ng kuha. Kahit nga yung extra candies namin for balloon burst nawala eh, dapat kasi itatapon nalang yung ibang candies when the balloon is to be popped kasi yung ibang candies d daw pwede sa balloon at baka pumutok. Ayun nawala, mga 6packs pa ata yun na assorted candies hehe

1. plan everything in advance - it keeps you on track specially the "gastos" part. we tend to ever spend if we are pressured with time di ba? mas maganda na we have more time to research....mag tanung tanong, mag tinging-tingin

2. always double check the guest list up to the last minute - mahirap na, baka naman masayang ang food

3. dont get carried away with the buffet table - minsan kasi, sa dami ng food na pagpipilian, ang dami natitira after the party

4. be creative - hindi naman kasi kailangan lahat eh kailangan natin bilhin diba? ano ba ang meron ka na na pwede naman substitute sa plan mo? I practice this always when planning an event.....ano yung resource mo na on hand na? [textspeak!] yung mas madali makuha? ano yung mas kaunti ang expense? is it worth it?

Pag me gusto kang i-add sa party mo pero you wanted to stick to your budget na, Ipatoka mo or ipa-sponsor mo sa ka-close mo na friend or relative.

I was able to save on the ff:

      Lechon (5-6K) c/o Sis in Law

I did the following as well:

-Invitations (Usually P10 cheapest to P85 per piece or more, depende sa style na gusto mo) Im not paying that for something na itatapon lang. I made mine from scrapblog and had them printed at P5.00++ each at Kodak Glorietta.

-Lootbag tags - Same thing, itatapon lang.

-Layout for Photobooth pics and Photo booth Backdrop - kasi di ko gusto yung gawa nila. I had them redo it based on what I did.

Madaming ways to save. Similar to weddings, Prioritize what you want or what is important sa inyo.

talagang malayo pa lang dapat makapag prepare na - this May 10th Bday na eldest ko then [textspeak!] youngest is June pero 3 kaming macecelbrate including c hubby one day apart lang kaya nakaktipid ako, sa eldest ko naman dahil 10th na so 2 digits na gusto syang ipagbday na with her friends and classmates lang walang matatandang kapitbahay - mag aabot na lang ako ng food sa mga kapitbahay- gusto ko kasi ma experience nya sya maging host ng birthday nya, dahil everytime magbday sya mga kapitbahay , kumare ng lolo't lola etc. so para maiba naman diba- tingin nyo ok ba gusto ko sana Pajama party kaso hindi cla mag sleep over hahaha yun balak ko ialagay kolagat foods  music and then bahala na sila- ok kaya un?

Medyo malaki nagastos namin sa bday ni baby but it could be more if di namin tinipid yung iba. Since hindi common yung theme namin, we had to DIY most of stuffs needed sa party.

1. Invites. Since itatapon nga lang sya. We just bought a thick colored paper, printed the invites using our home printer. Able to make 40pcs from a pack of 10 papers = ~P40pesos.

2. We didn't print TY cards instead we created our own candy bar wrappers. Same thing. used an ordinary bond paper. Printed the candy wrapper. And wrap the chocolate bars we bought from a grocery store.

3. Nametags -ssame thing. We did the LO and printed them on a sticker sheet.

4. Lootbag. Medyo mahal yung personalized/theme lootbag (P100 - 150). We just bought theme lootbag sa divi. Printed a pix sa sticker sheet and sticked it on the backpack para themed pa rin. Bag =19 each, sticker sheet = ~3pesos each.

5. Catering - We have a caterer But instead or ordering add'l dish. We brought one dish. We just rented a chaffing dish. We're able to save ~1K.

6. Booked Early. I started planning for jel's party when she was still 5months old. naikot namin las pinas, alabang at cavite. Pati mga party planners may comparison ako ng prices sa excel. i also did a what if computation? then meron kaming mga dates ni hubby na kasama sa agenda ang budget for the bday. so far everything went well naman.

anyway, share ko lang mga diy items namin nung bday ni jel last saturday.

ay...oo nga pala. huwag mahiyang tumawad at humingi ng discount lalo na kung DIY party naman yan. ask your suppliers kung ano pwede ma kuha on a budget. you can always get a steal in every occasion

tama. ako i asked options to our caterer ng mga what if walang centerpiece, what if i get this and that, dami ko what if sa PP namin. buti di sya nakulitan sakin. hehe.
