Just finished holding my son's 1st bday today and here are my tipid ideas:

1.  Invest in a great party host - The party host can make or break the success of your event since 2/3 of the time lahat ng attention nasa kanya.  I got Kuya Mau of kuyamau.net for P6,000 (including the sound system na) and he was worth every penny.  Everyone enjoyed themselves, including the adults. 

2.  Give a lot of thought to the prizes and the content of the lootbag -  These are the things that guests really remember so I really thought a lot about what prizes and loot to give. 
     -  I picked a theme based on what was available in Divisoria so that I could easily buy prizes and loot that was faithful to the theme.  In my son's case, all the prizes, the loot, the decor and the invite was all Spongebob.
     -  It doesn't need to be expensive.  You can find everything in Divisoria as long as matiyaga ka.  Except for crayons which are just way cheaper in National.  Don't buy food stuff for the loot bag in supermarkets.  Go to the public market like the one in Commonwealth and Marikina and you'd be amazed with how much cheap food stuff there is. 

3.  Prestige Tower is the best!  No rental fee as long as you order P15,000 worth of food from the inhouse caterer.  Super sarap pa ng food.  P260/head yung cheapest package nila.

If you can decorate using crepe paper for the ceiling as well as print out big images of the characters of the birthday theme and just do the balloon decor yourself with the help of relatives and friends, it would save you thousands. Kasi sayang din yung mga balloons pag tapos ng party.

Also, if you can just cook spaghetti and chicken nuggets, put it in a styro pack, tapos buy a brownie and tetra pack juice drink for the kids, and laki ng matitipid.

As for the caterer, pwede to get the cheapest package then just add a dish or two that you can ask a relative to cook, this will save you an additional thousand din.

mga sis need you advice here.. im preparing my daughter's 1st birthday pero sa house celebration lang since wala kami guest na kids and tipid mode din kami..im planning to cook the foods po.. i dunno kung paano tanchahin yung food.. like ilang kilos po ang pwede sa mga 50-60 pax?

^^ sis depende yun sa kung ano at ilang putahe ang iluluto mo. kung halimbawa e for 6 people 2 kilo ang niluluto mo for that variand, kakailanganin mo ng 20 kilos for 50-60 pax. kung marami namang variand, kahit siguro 15 kilos lang pwede na kasi hindi naman lahat e yung variand na yun ang kakainin.
