very effective samin ng sister ko yung pilates.  pareho kami na malaki ang legs pero this is the only exercise that significantly reduced our thunder thighs!  ;D  my sister was already considering lipo pero she decided to try pilates first. after 3 months, ang laki na ng allowance ng pants nya. ;) ako din, mas malaki pa yung reduction sakin compared to my sister kasi every other day ko sya ginagawa.  now, i can wear mini skirts!  ;)

by the way, dvd namin is winsor pilates for butts and thighs  :)
i do the pilates stance i found on youtube. been doing it for 2 months going on 3 months. very slight pa lang difference on my thighs. sis, may i know where i can get the winsor pilates dvd? thank you.

I have the Winsor Pilates DVD set too. It comes in 4 DVDs: bun & thighs sculpting, ab sculpting, advanced sculpting and the 20 minute workout. It also came with the sculpting circle. So far, I've been doing the 20 minute workout and bun & thighs workout. I got it from my sister in the US who shipped it to me here.

Hi! Meron pa ba dito na naghahanap ng ka-duet with an instructor? Mas maganda daw one-on-one session kapag beginner ka especially sa may mga back probs. I have back probs and I want to enrol. PM me pls. Thanks! :D

girls, anyone interested pa with a duet? or ka-trio? hehe.. i'm interested. please let me know. thanks

I just enrolled in Pilates here in the US, makes me wish I enrolled there in the Philippines before ang tamad tamad ko kasi, so expensive here I took 12-session package at $65/session, pag per session lang ang kukunin mo hindi package $80/session, I just hope maganda talaga..

somebody suggested na umattend daw ako ng ilang sessions then do it on my own afterwards. what do you girls think? di ko ba mainjure ang sarili ko by doing it by myself.

thanks.

@100%K: naginquire na ko sa vivian. medyo pricey. pero mukhang okay. may isa pa ko piangtanungan, BB studio at the fort. cheaper than vivian.

The place is called Body Balanced Studio.. 7AM to 830AM!! their website is http://www.balancedbody.ph/ I want to join but kulang pa ng 3 to 4 people! it's only 3,500 for 8 sessions and they're one of the best in pilates talaga :)

i want sana yung kay Linzi Arellano. kaso can't afford. it's P900/ session kung semi private, P1300 naman for private and P650 for mat class. sayang, lapit pa naman sa bahay ko. :(

http://www.purepilatesph.com/index.html

mura na pala yung sa Pulse Yoga na P4000, unlimited na per month.

I love Pilates. :D  It has helped my back a lot, as in I didn't experienced any back pains during my 2 pregnancies.  And it also helped in my flexibility and posture.  I used to go all the way to The Fort (B+B Studio) for my pilates class.  Very very far from our place but so worth it.

My suggestion to anyone who wants to try pilates is to go to a trained/licensed instructor to avoid injuries.  Also, one-on-one rates are really expensive but IMO, worth it na rin in the long run.  As much as possible avoid going to Pilates classes offered in gyms, usually these are not pure forms na and at the same time baka mainjure lang kayo since as beginners kelangan talaga medyo tutok yung instructor otherwise you won't get the results or benefits Pilates can give you.

Just to be clear Linzi's pilates and the one being  taught in B+B Studio are a bit different.  Yung kay Linzi is more on the original or old form, also mas mahirap while sa B+B modified na siya so mas madali na ng konti.  But both are the same in terms of benefits and results.  So I suggest na you stick with one form/method lang para mas kita agad yung results and at the same time mas di magulo.  Thats what happened to me kasi since I also went to Linzi coz her studio is more accessible to me.  I ended up confused. ;D  So I  might just go back to B+B pa rin plus I like the studio better. :D

^I've never tried group pilates eh, hanggang duet lang with my husband.  Depende din siguro sa makakagroup mo, kasi dapat same level kayong lahat or else magulo or mabobore naman yung mga marunong na.  Also from what I understand mat lang yata kapag group, for me kasi mas ok if may machine din especially if you have back pains.  Siguro you could try around 4-8 individual sessions muna just to get the basics or get the hang of it.

Addicting ito, promise.  I am your typical couch potato, but I would go all the way to the Fort pa for my 7am classes and wala pang absences tapos I even extended it to 3x a week from once a week lang. ;D  I only stopped when I got pregnant.

I have my Pilates sessions (using reformer and cadillac) in Allez-Hop in Makati.   http://www.allez-hop.net/

It's a boutique gym so never crowded.

I started in July doing it 2x/wk.  Dati tandem pero hassle to hold the position kung ikaw unang tinignan ng instructor tapos aayusin pa niya partner mo.  :-)  Now, it's one on one and not pure Pilates, my instructor let's me do cardio (treadmill) before my session.

I've been travelling these past two months so super erratic workout sched ko with them (1-2x/month?).  Athough I walk around the neighborhood if I don't get to work out (also erratic).

Have lost a total of 17lbs so far -- around 10 pounds pure fat mostly from abdomen and thighs.  :-D

Meron din group mat class and spinning (burns about 600cal per session) if you find the one on one or tandem a bit pricey.
