here's pulse yoga's website - http://www.pulse-yoga.com/

they do mat classes, i think it's 500 per class if you're walk-in. they do polestar mat pilates, not classical nor stott.

question again about pilates. napansin ko lang parang mas nagkakamuscle yung tipong lalaki yung braso mo pag nag pilates. ganun ba talaga? [textspeak!] ba mas ok yung mat or yung machine?

^well, it depends on what your fitness goals are, you talk to your trainer and tell him you don't want super cut arms. the only person i know who has super muscular arms who does pilates is madonna, and we all know she's just a fitness freak.

as for what is the best pilates practice, i think we're clearly missing the point here. true pilates practice in itself is a mixture of mat and machines, please remember that. what you see in gyms that offer mat pilates is purely for commercial practice. i'm not saying they're not good, but this does not offer the balanced and focused workout a one-on-one session with a trainer offers. again, a one-on-one session with a trainer involves almost 500 different exercises which uses various equipment - mat and machines like the reformer, cadillac, chair, ball, fitness rings, etc. the most important thing with pilates is it makes your body work efficiently meaning your body needs to perform the various exercises in its proper form in tune with your breathing.  also the philosophy in doing the pilates exercises is the quality of the movement over the quantity of the reps. this can only be achieved when one trainer is focusing on one person. and the trainer also develops a unique program for you because each person has different body issues and fitness goals.

^Better consult your doctor first. I remembered when I was doing pilates, this girl has scoliosis, she wasn't able to do some of the exercises since her back hurts.

^^ yup, consult your doctor and if he gives you the greenlight, you have to tell your trainer of your condition. he/she will tailor fit your pilates program for you and your needs.

May pilates studio din sa Reposo st., makati, called authentic pilates started by cecille sicangco. Siya yung unang una sa Philippines, since the late 1990's pa and she studied directly with Romana (who in turn was taught by Joseph Pilates mismo) in NY. Yung iba kasi, mga variation na ng original pilates exercises, ever since the name of Pilates became a generic term for that type exercise (natalo sila sa US court to keep the name).

sorry haven't tried but i think pulse is more known as a yoga center than a pilates studio. they do polestar pilates in pulse, if i'm not mistaken.
